"Casar... you go back first," Shao Zifeng murmured, pulling himself out of his drunken stupor. He then felt the softness of the bed beneath him.
"Water..." His parched murmur broke the silence as Li Yiming, looking helplessly at the drunken heap that was Shao Zifeng, went to the living room to fetch a glass of water and brought it to his lips.
Shao Zifeng cracked open his hazy eyes, guzzled down the water, and then sank back into a deep sleep.
Li Yiming sat by the bed for a while before getting up and returning to his own room.
When the door clicked shut, only Shao Zifeng's light snoring filled the room.
Time ticked by slowly, and the night breeze lifted the curtains, spilling moonlight onto the stone egg on the bedside table. The stone egg shuddered slightly, emitting a faint glow.
Shao Zifeng opened his eyes and sat up, fumbling to switch on the bedside lamp. The dim light illuminated the room.
