In the valley of the dead.
It was late at night,howls of monsters could be heard and flying shards of ice could be seen everywhere as dead bodies of wolves line up on the road.
A girl in black cloak drenched in blood stands in the middle of the road with sharp shards of ice around her.
A wolf jumped from the trees to the road behind the girl,the wolf rushed forward then a shard of ice hit him pushing him backwards.
The wolf stumbled to the ground from the impact but quickly got up and prepair to charge.As soon as he got up,two shards of ice hit him,one hit his eye and the other dug deep in his chest as it kills him.
"..Ha-!ha...ha....."the girl keeps on panting and her face was pale.
A man on a beach bed while wearing a sunglasses looked at her and spoke.
"Oh~!your doing better than i thought."
"S-sir hades...please help me....im out of mana..."
"hmm...guess it cant be helped..."
Hades of course knows she's out of mana,he can check others stats thats why he spoke to make her ask for help.
(I were back then,not anymore.)

Hades ignored the system as he was used to its insults,he removed his sunglasses as he can really see with it.He stand up then he cuts the feet of the upcoming wolves.He then brought out a short sword he bought from his exp shop.
"Here,since your out of mana,use this to kill them."Hades said as he hand over the sword to Ellie.
"D-do we really need to kill them...?"
Ellie looked at the wolves laying on the ground growling on the ground with their feet cut off.
"Do you want to leave them like that until they die?I didnt know that was your style."
"N-no thats not...!I'll do it....."
"Good."
Ellie then picked the sword and started killing the wolves.
As Ellie kills the wolves Hades thought of something strange about her and so he asked.
"E-ellie...."
"yes?"
"Your a type of mage right?how can you cast spells without a staff?"
"Staff?we dont really need staff to use magic,but magic staffs are helpful as they could store spells or mana within there orbs or crystals."
"oh?whats the difference between the one with an orb and a crystal?"
"The ones with orbs can store the spells or mana of the user,while the ones with the crystal can regenerate their own mana and store it."
"Then why arent you using it?are they expensive?Well, if we find one in the city you can buy one,we got so much money that my storage is almost full."
"Umm..Magic staffs are not really for sale,most of it are owned by nobles and are past as an heirloom."
"Its rare...?"
"Well,yes.Most of those staffs are from the sommoned heroes.After they stopped the calamity,they usually become nobles or become a part of a noble family and pass their weapon as a heirloom."
"I see,then what kind of staff do you want?"
"p-pardon..?"
"I'll give you a staff as a reward,now what kind of staff do you want?"
Hades saw the staffs in his exp shop back then,aswell as their insane price so he didnt buy one as he didnt need it as well.
"T-then,i would like the one with an orb,since i have plenty of mana now,its much easier to store mana...."
"Alright."
Hades then checked the store,the cheapest staff was 1000exp,and the most expensive one was 3500exp.He scroll down the section of orb staff that stores mana and bought the most expensive one.
It was a staff made of wood with a red orb on top of it,and it can regenerate itself using the mana stored within.Its price was 2300exp.
He brought it out and gave it to Ellie.
"T-thank you...."
"Its fine,recover some of your mana while we walk,they will do the fighting for now."
As Hades finished his words,his shadow started rising from the ground and formed hundreds of armored shadow soldiers around them.
Alex and James stand beside Hades,the shadow soldiers line up at the side of the road to protect them from the wolves,if they even dare to attack.
"yes...."Ellie said as she stared at the shadows as she thought;'Their numbers were more than enough to defend against the wolves.Why did he even made me fight the wolves?'
The thought last for a few seconds and she goes back observing her new staff.It was rare for a mage to have a staff,much less for a spell caster,a low ranked mage.
After a few hours Ellie still observes her new staff,but then she noticed that something is wrong about the wood of her staff.
"....Sir hades..?"
"hmm..?"
"Did you attack the elven kingdom by chance...?"
"...What?"
"I-its because this wood was from the world tree,so its...only available in the elven kingdom....and no ones allowed to touch the world tree....."
"I just bought it in the shop."
".....Shop..?"
"Well,i didnt attack the elven kingdom,i didnt even know their was one."
"...i see.."
"Well,since your mana should have recovered,why dont you fight that guy?"
Hades pointed at the big wolf,it was 3 meters tall with a fierce glowing amber eye.
"w-why me against that...?"
"Dont worry you'll be fine."Hades said with a thumbs up.
The shadows stepped aside as Hades pushed Ellie closer to the wolf.
"Good luck~!"
The wolf then charged towards her,and with no other choice but to fight she pointed her staff towards the wolf and shot out a sharp shard of ice.
The ice hit the wolf,the wolf stopped on its track but didnt get much damage out of it.
Grrrrr-!!
All the ice shard do was enrage the wolf,the wolf's attack got faster making it hard to evade its attacks.
As Ellie can no longer evade,she used her sword on her left arm to block.The wolf's attack got blocked by the sword,as Ellie blocked the attack she was sent flying backwards,but manage to land safely.
With her exchange with the wolf,she couldnt understand how can she hold her ground,the wolf was big and was definitely the leader of the pack.
Ellie dont know how,but it seems like she got stronger of sort.With that in mind,she fix her stance,holding a sword at her left hand and a staff at the right,she charged forward towards the wolf.
As Ellie fights with the wolf,Hades observed the match,though Ellie though that the wolf was strong and that she got stronger.The truth is the wolf was weak or atleast,not entirely that strong as it looks.
"...Is this how it feels when a veteran player watch noobs play..?Its so boring...."
The wolf was at level 5,it sure is stronger than the ordinary wolves which was at level 2-3,but not really strong enough to call a boss monster.
Back to Ellie and the wolf.
Ellie got bloody as her stamina gived in,she can no longer dodge and its also hard to block the wolf's attack.
This however was the case for the wolf aswell.The ice shards does not deal much damage,but with multiple hits the wolf's body bleed everywhere.
The wolf raise its claws and slash towards Ellie,she then dodge the claws and stepped back.
The wolf the charge at her,and again she dodge the wolf's charge,but the wolf suddenly raise its claws and slash it towards her.
With no time to dodge the attack she got hit but manage to barely cover herself with the sword and was sent flying backwards.
The wolf then charged at her and opened its mouth showing its fangs.
Hades was also about to dash towards the wolf and give it a good punch,when Ellie raise her hand and stare at the wolf with her dead eyes.
An ice shard formed as her eyes glows,the ice shard grow in size.It was 3 times bigger that normal,it then shot towards the wolf,it hits its mouth and dug deep through the wolf's throat.The wolf have no choice but to die from its mouth bleeding as no one finish him off.
Ellie then started lossing her consciousness and was catched by hades.
"You did well."He said.
Hades then used his regeneration skill,his regen skill was an active skill and not a passive so he can use it at will.Though it can heal others,its not as effective and waste MP.
"Its a waste using this since the effect is divided,but it cant be helped."
Hades then started healing her as Ellie closed her eyes.
"The whole match was boring but that last attack was great,it seems you got a new skill."
"...than.k....y...ou..."
Ellie then lost her consciousness.
"..And besides...."
Hades then checked her status screen.
