Chapter 8

Anna woke up in prison cell. Anna felt for her dagger and the dagger of secrets. She sighed in relief. She kept them in a secret pocket she had in her cloak. A woman appeared in front of her cell. She appeared to wear a red cloak. She had almost black eyes and dark hair.

"You're a awake. I'm Raven, and I run this place," She said. She cracked a smile. Her skin was pale. Standing right by her was Lasserin.

"You brought me to Rose on purpose just to poison me! Why?" asked Anna. Lasserin smiled.

"I'm like a double agent, I pretend to be on one side when I'm on the other," He remarked proudly. "Oh and here's some food." He threw a tray of food in. Anna growled in anger. Raven laughs but, then gets serious.

"I'd eat that if you want to live," said Raven coldly. Anna took a bite of bread. It wasn't the best, but she ate it anyways. She ate some of the meat, but it tasted disgusting. Raven smiled.

"Did you enjoy it?" Raven asked slyly. Before Anna could respond, a loud thud was heard from the cell next to her and a yell was heard.

"Lasserin, shut Esmia up for like the fifth time today," Raven said in annoyance.

"I don't think that'll be necessary," said a woman's voice. Suddenly, Lasserin collapsed. Raven gasped and grabbed him as he fell. He was knocked unconscious.

"Leave now, you imbecile!" The woman said. Raven attempted to put up a fight, but the woman managed to take Raven down. Raven, muttering under her breath, grabs Lasserin and leaves. The woman looks at Anna. She holds up some keys, which she probably stole from Raven and unlocks Anna's cell.

"Thank you....Um, who are you?" Anna asked uncertain.

"My name is Betty, and don't thank me," said Betty. She wore a gray cloak. She had short brown hair. Her eyes were dark. She tosses Anna the keys.

"Free Esmia, I must go," She said.

"Wait! You look kinda like a person I dreamt about it," Anna exclaimed. Betty paused and then smiled.

"I guess fate works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?" Betty said smiling. "Oh and here," Betty tosses Anna the dagger of pure strength that she must've taken from Lasserin. She walks out. Anna thought for a bit, but her thoughts were interrupted by a voice.

"HEY! AREN'T YOU GONNA LET ME OUT OR WHAT?!" yelled Esmia. Anna nodded quickly and opened her cell.
