A Romantic Person and A Lonely Person

The loving couple was done with their dinner and were enjoying their chat with a bottle of wine, when George Tan's phone rang.

George was about to reject the call but saw his brother's name on the screen.

He stopped for a moment.

George Tan had a rule.

Whenever he was with his fiance, he would reject all unimportant calls. George did not want his precious time with Annie to be interrupted.

But since it was his brother...

"It's alright. You should answer it." Annie saw the hesitation in the man's eyes. She knew of his rule as well, so this one must be from an important person.

Annie was really happy that George always try to put her first in everything. She could not help but feel happy at the man's unremitting spoiling and doting.

"It's my brother. I will be quick."

George answered the phone.

"Did I interrupt something?" A deep masculine voice sounded from the phone.

The phone call rang a few times before it got answered. The man on the other side of the phone was about to give up calling when it got answered by his brother.

George glanced at Annie Chu who was looking outside the window. Her slender neck was strikingly white, as if her whole countenance was glowing softly. George involuntarily stared, his eyes melting into a pool of gentleness.

His fianceé was really dazzling just by sitting there.

"...Yes."

There was a pause on the other side. "Then I will call back later."

George chuckled. "I already answered the phone, so it's fine. What is it? Did you change your mind and finally decided to meet my fianceé?"

Annie's ear twitched. She listened quietly.

"No. I still have many things to do. Anyway, I sent flowers to your financeé as an apology for missing the meeting. Please send my regards to her."

As soon as the man on the phone said that, as if on a cue, a waiter came to their table and delivered a large bouquet of flowers.

Annie and George were stunned.

"For me?" Annie looked at George with confusion.

George smiled. "It's from my brother. It is his apology for not being able to come here."

Annie took the bouquet. There was a letter among the flowers.

'I deeply apologize for not coming. I will surely come next time.' -J

Annie's heart turned soft. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at her charmingly handsome fiancé.

"Your brother is very romantic, just like you. Please tell him, I forgive him, and that I feel very fortunate to be her sister-in-law."

George chuckled.

His fiance's heart was really easy to please. She was the kind of woman who appreciated every single thing, no matter how minor it was, and express her thanks wholeheartedly. She was always brimming with positive energy and kindness.

She had a unique beauty that shone from within, deep inside the bones.

George liked this attitude and personality of Annie. It made him want to please her heart more with amazing things. He liked watching her sincere expressions that were filled with surprise and happiness.

There was a smile in George's voice as he spoke onto the phone. "Did you hear that? My financeé said that she likes it, and that she forgives you."

"...I am honored."

Annie could not help but mutter as she looked at the flowers. "If only my daughters have an ounce of the sincerity like your brother..."

George caught onto her muttering and suddenly had an idea.

"Hold on, Jav."

"Yes?"

"Can you please do me a favor?"

"...?"

****

The night was slightly cold due to the aftermath of the storm.

Alliana was having dinner alone in the enormous dining table of the Chu mansion.

Her two sisters were currently out of the house.

Ariana, the second eldest, had told her that she had an important mission of gaining inspiration.

Her second sister was a full-time writer who wrote dog-blooded drama and R-18 novels. That virgin sister of hers who never held a single finger of any man was actually writing that kind of genre.

Alliana really wondered how her dull second sister could get inspiration by hiding under her hat and not even touching a man. How could she get inspiration? Just by looking? Or imagining?

She truly did not understand.

Alliana put down her fork after three bites. The taste of the food was bland to her whenever her sisters were not here to accompany her for dinner.

In fact, it was the same whenever Alliana was dining alone.

Even though she was called heartless and wicked by many people, Alliana still felt empty whenever she did things alone.

Very ironic for a woman who insisted on not marrying for the rest of her life.

'Ha'.

Alliana dryly chuckled. She took her wine glass and played with it, staring blankly at the red wine swirling inside with her head resting on one hand lazily.

How come she was suddenly being sentimental here?

It was very unlike of Alliana Chu.

Maybe it was the huge and empty dining hall and the bright chandelier lights in the mansion that made her feel empty and alone.
