Chapter 8

Anna got up.

"Where are we?" asked Raven.

"A parallel world," said Esmia. Anna gasped and looked around her. The ground was gray in color.

"This place must be a parallel version of Kimchi. Kimchi is hot, but this place is cold!" exclaimed Anna. She hugged herself.

"Let's move on," said Esmia. They walked through the dry, cold, barren land. A man was selling hot cocoa near a frozen pond.

"Hello there! You look new to this place! Welcome to Chillkim!" said the Man. He was bundled up in a warm jacket and he sported a hat and scarf. They bought some cocoa and walked toward a flat grass area.

Esmia woke up in some dark area. The sky was gray and black. The ground was also gray. Esmia realized she was inside the Dark Mirror. A man appeared in front of her.

"Riven!? I thought we killed you!?" exclaimed Esmia, shocked that he was there. He had black hair, just like his twin sister Raven. He was wearing a black cloak. Before Esmia could attack, he put his hand out.

"Please, hear me out," He said.

"Well?" growled Esmia, her arms folded. He put his hand down. His expression was serious.

"The Riven you knew wasn't the real Riven. I'm the real Riven," He said.

"How?" asked Esmia, her expression was dark.

"The Riven you knew killed and replaced me. My spirit is trapped within this mirror," said Riven.

"So this mirror has been here the whole time.." said Esmia.

"Yes. The mirror was created by Rose," said Riven. Esmia gasped. She knew Rose was evil, and that she sold potions, but she had no clue she created the mirror she was stuck inside now.

"Ok, can you explain how come the mirror talks?" asked Esmia.

"Yes. The mirror didn't talk before until Rose placed Lasserin within the mirror," said Riven, expressionless. Esmia gasped again.

"You're telling me, LASSERIN IS TECHNICALLY ALIVE?!!" yelled Esmia. Riven simply nodded.

"I know what you're thinking, I'm a shadow made by Lasserin, but that's not the case. I am real," said Riven, his expression softened a little bit. So did Esmia's. They went silent for a moment. Not a sound was heard.

"You must miss Raven a lot," said Esmia, breaking the silence. Riven looked down and nodded sadly. "We're getting out of here!"
