You and me forever?

"You're you and then I'm me. Why should we become we?" I say in a panic. This is bad and truly fucked up.

"Why not princess?" he says casually as if I asked what he wanted for breakfast.

"Because it's dangerous Hayden. Don't you get it? Everyone we love will suffer the consequences because of our selfish needs," I say breathlessly.

"Listen to me princess it's always been you and me," he says grabbing ahold of my body and holding it close to his.

I allow myself to get swallowed in his temporary comfort. I know it won't last but I wanted to savor this moment.
