chapter 114: the month of darkness shining in on the light

***A Very Long Time Later Far Far Away***

[ Diana's pov ]

He first came here 3 weeks ago, he was pretty cute unlike the rest of the capties they brung in, I got to know him the first day but that was only after he killed two people out of self defense.

The two he killed were known to draw trouble for us so we didn't really care. I felt as if he was diffrent, he gave off a mysterious scent which I just could put my finger on, it was alluring in an erotic and lewd manner but it also made me weary, but then there was another... it was as if he was one of my own kin.

That day I though I was just doing the right thing to protect him, since he was very the youngest prisoner there and also he smelled not of his own kind, but I also did this so he didn't kill anyone else. It was successful but I ended up finding time to chat with him and this old man name Drage who was always with him, I thought it was just adorable.

This happened mostly everyday and I think it was his third day here and he looked a bit heated after a confrontation with some humans, but it also seemed as if there was something else bothering him so I asked, it was the usual, it was because he killed those two but the one surviver, aka the one who started it all in the first place made it seem as if they were the victims.

They used this type stunt and it made him not get along with all the other humans, well except Drage, so I decided to always keep him company during lunch.

But sometimes he'd slip off and return with the scent of blood on him, it was his so it made me worry but after asking about it he lowered his shirt and I saw that it was most likely just his master calling him for a bite. it made me worry but he just said it was fine and he seemed happy so I guess it made me feel a bit better... but also not, I never want to see that vampire bitch lay her hands on my!. . .I mean it's not that it matters he's the servent of a vamp so it's noraml. After all he told me the day before he only ever saw me as a friend so why should I care 'humph'.

He never came on the 12th, he had me worried sick. The next day he came back and he looked super healthy, he must of got a brake from falling ill or something. Also that same day I saw him sneak into the kitchen, usually I would of stoped him like a guard should of, but I though it was funny how he was stealing something to bite despite saying he wasen't hungry that day.

That week passed and we started talking more than just in the Cafeteria, I found him doing errands for that vampire and also moxie, so I joined him on each errand, he was usually to himself but when we were together he was very talkative...He tried hiding it but I could tell something was wrong with him, but I desoded to not stick my nose were it didn't belong.

That next week it was going like the normal untill everyone started getting sick, all the humans and even the vampires, but it wasen't as bad for three vampires, that girl Alex, the bitch who lotus surverd had it worst as she coughed out a mouthload of blood. only one vampires was unaffected.

The only prisoners who weren't affected was lotus, drage, and four others who usually stuck to themselves and were relatively kind people. many angels and also some healers started checking on the human prisoners and they all found out what was causing it.

Corruption, a very strong corruption that was eating away not only their mana pool but them in general, no one knew who caused it or even what caused it, but the angel's found Demonic traces in the blood after many sleepless nights.

All the Demon's were caged after that and they started getting suspicious of their own, they even started looking at lotus who was known to be some sort of heretic practitioner who had used blood magic one time before captured.

He was quickly cleared after handsome Jack stated that there were angelic seals placed on his body making him completely innocent to this...Lotus said noting that entire day, but as he was leaving I did catch a glance at him and his eyes slightly shimmered crimson before turning green again.

People started getting too sick to leave bed and the higher ups saw they we're going downhill as their mass production of materials and coin income lowered drastically due to the humans not being able to work. But then a few people started dissapearing and with the disappearance of a few people and the stock market, so did the corruption.

It was a blessing as that ment the angel's had developed a way to cure it, but we were wrong...It just faded, never to be seen again or even even solved, the Demon's were still under suspicious but then Jack announced it was the work of outsiders infentrating them.

Eveyone was on edge after that, but the entire time lotus reassured it was going to be alright... He was there when I felt down, got a bit depressed and even when I cried about my two Demon friends suffering.

He reassured that they would be alright and not so long after...It was probably a day later, he was right, those two suddenly started getting a lot better and there was no major pain or suffering to them like all the others... I don't know how it happened or if he had anything to do with it, but I'm just glad he made me not lose hope or give up.

With the third week the bodies of the dissapeared we're found and all were drained of blood and had four fang marks on their necks and arms, we got suspicious of the vampires but all...Yes all of them were bed riddened as they were still sick from curruptuon... To avoid them of any suspicion all of their daylight rings were confiscated for the time Being...Which ment if they steped into the sunlight they'll start to burn up untill they become ash.

Things got even worst that week as the resistance was ambushed by underworlders/hell walkers.

They just appeared out of a brech/portle and the first thing those Demon's saw was the resistance and then attacked them on sight.

I was there and it was so terrifying, Demon's of the underworld are no joke, they of the Damed haden't accepted no rules of any realm or place. Hell has their own rules and that's the only thing they live by, and their not afraid to tell how much they hate eveything else out here, after all there complete monsters with no remorse or guilt.

Once they saw one of our angel's they lost their shit and showed their true power... the mother-flipping Demon's were just toying with us from the start.

Half the resistance was wiped out that day and we retreated back to safety, lucky someone saved us... But they weren't good people, they were creatures born and summoned from very strong Black magic.

With the downfall of the resistances army, Jack and a few platoons of soldiers left to recruit more soldiers and have more people join up with them, for some reason they left their best fighter moxie behind though.

With the 2nd day of it being November I was with lotus and Drage again, but this time the Demon's were back to their regular life and I decided to take a good two weeks off since that horrific tragedy occurred.

But instead of a happy face, lotus looked distressed as he kept mubling to himself in a foreign language, I taped his sholder but it startled him and his eyes flashed crimson before he noticed what was happening.

He kept apogizing and I just patted his head as he seemed to be going through inner Demon's of his own...Was it becuae of his master thought? No she's still bedridden and corrupted so that's not the cause... It worried me thought and when I asked about it he wouldn't tell me and just changed the topic and then changing the topic again. I swear that boy is just so...ugh! fustraiting!

Days passed and I cought him by himself in the forest and all the trees had slash marks and claw marks all over them, it was as if there was a territorial beast somewhere around here.

He was meditation at the time and there was mist covering the area at the time but I swear there was some black mist like thingy under it.

I rushed to him and ended up startling him since this area was a dangerous area and we need to get out of there before whatever caused it comes back.

He was so cute as he pouted and playfully taped me for scaring him, note to self, he's easily scared.

I asked why he was out there since it was forbidden for a servent to be somewhere on their own if not a born servent of the base. He told me it was where he came to find peace and train, I think he was speaking of meditation though since he was doing it before...I swore not to tell since why report this when I'm not even on duty right~

The next day there was a solar eclipse and I was with lotus in the afternoon, he suddenly embraced me from behind and rested his head on my back before he wispered to me "thank you" and I felt my heart throb as I didn't understand why he thanked me. Aside it turned my head to him he suddenly kissed me on the cheek and let got to run intont of me.

He placed his hands behind his back and did a cute pose as he giggled and had the purest smile on his blushing face.

Lotus's hair grew so long that he had in tied in a bun and as the darkness was about, it was as if I was looking at a short moon-clansman. That noble and majestic look of his made him seem very alluring, ecpecally with the servent attire and the long sleeves of his underclothing which he never explained why he always wore it.

The next day lotus snuck off again and I trailed his scent as I wanted to ask him somthing personal. The base was built on the side a mountain which was used so we weren't invaded from all angels plus that's where the dungeon and living quarters were built in to.

When I trailed his scent I hid behind a tree as he was humming a sweet lullaby and I then peeked at him to see what he was going on... But I was shocked at what I saw.

He was bathing at the waterfall and I got a full glimpse of his bare body without anything to hide his gace. My face burned bright red as he had the most refined skin any girl or guy would kill for, then his plain but perfect body which could use some muscle definition and also sex appeal, and then his elbow Long black and white hair which was loosened from the bun and all strait for once due to water, God's bless the water.

Besides his head he had not even a strand of hair anywhere else and he had a tattoo of dragon wings which surprised me.

I felt like a pervert as I just couldn't stop watching him, but then I steped on a twig snapping it and alerting him.

He was very confused as he called out of anyone was there and I slowly came out which was Hella embarrassing...He must of thought I was a comolete and utter pervert. After that we sat on two different stumps and he vas visibly blushing as his face burned red like a cheery and he wore some clothing which was originally his hair peice...Hey I recognize those long sleevs, so that's what the underclothing looked like!.

He called me a pervert. . .

The next day was a bit awkward but he made it seem like nothing happened, he simply flicked me on the forhead and giggled, I assume it ment he forgave me.

This entire time he's been treating me like a sister or friend, but I'm tired of waiting, I'm to impatient and what if another person takes him away from me.

That next day I asked him out on a date. . .It was a failure, he didn't understand when I asked him out, he thought it was just a friend type of situation.

It was so fucking...excuse my language...embarrassing. I couldn't take it anymore and i kissed him before running off back to my room, he must think of me as a complete and utter Loser now.

The next day aka today/ the 5th. here I am waking up and regretting making a fool of myself, I don't know if I can show myself to lotus with all of these mixed emotions running through me.

Should I apologize, should I man up and tell him how I feel, or should I just pretend it never happened... Maybe I should evoid it all together, ugh! so complicated!

I got up today and went to work as a guard hoping it would clear my mind and it did as there was some trouble in the dungeon with a few prisoners fighing amongst eachother. I stoped them all and they even attacked me so I used force but in the end it just made me horny after beating them all up.

It was now lunch for the B-group and there I saw lotus, he's never eating anything how dose he even live, it's been three weeks and I haven't seen him touch a thing? wait why am I think about him!? ugh! this is so troubling!

Diana the fox guard shook her head as she couldn't stop thinking about last night but then she she opened her eyes she saw a boy shorter than her by 3in/7cm with his hair tied in a bun.

"Lotus!" she was surprised to see his joyous face "what...um what... what do you want?..." she studdered as her face became flustered "you usually sit with me and Drage, but today you aren't, are you feeling alright?" he asked out of being concerned.

"I'm fine it... um" she got even more flushed and he slightly blushed "is it about the kiss?" he spoke in a shy manner.

She evoided eye contact and slowly nodded her head, but before she could say anything at all, like ask if he didn't like her or even If he didn't want to see her. . .she would of understood...But then he spoke.

"Do you want to do it again?" he said putting his two fingers to his lips, she was surprised by his words and her eyes opened wide as she looked down to him, she couldn't belive her own ears, had they decided her or were they for real.

But then as she was thinking he was already on his toes and he pressed his soft lips again her's, she was completely petrified as this was real and her tail couldn't stop wagging as it was like she was a dog with how excited she was.

He lowered himself back to normal standing and smiled "I haven't felt like that in so long, sorry but I really wanted to do it~" he poked his tounge out in a teasing manner as he smiled joyously.

"y-you... yo-you... you-" she studered "kissed you" he said telling what he had done and she lowered her head as her face was burning with the overwhelming mixed emotions going at her.

But despite what it looked like, her tail contined to wag and he leaned in getting in her feld of vision "I guess you don't like me after all? you must hate me then?" he said messing with her and then turning around to walk back to his table.

But as he got a foot away she grabbed his hand stopping him "that's not true! becuase lotus I love you!!!" she blurted out and everyone in the Cafeteria looked at them meanwhile the other guards whistled at her confession.

Hearing her words his face burned cherry red as this whole prank with just messing with her turned into something way more than he could of cope with.

He didn't know exactly how to feel at this point, he only ever thought of her as a frend and yes he might of thought of using her in the beginning as a food souce, but adéla quickly turned into that food source as she didn't produce any essence but she made an abundant of sexual energy which satisfied his hunger and restored his mana. Also lotus might of did some naughty stuff with his friends but that was purly just to feed, sure he had feelings for them as well, but he is an incubus and he couldn't help loving more than one person. After all being a son of the goddess of love and lust kind said it all right there. But all of that aside, he truly only desired one person above all else, and she was the one he had been with him since the beginning, and she accepted him and his incubis nature without hesitation.

Lotus didn't truly know if he ever wanted a relationship with anyone other than her.

For she was his true love

(A/N: Wait! Wait! Wait! Before I get a he's supposed to build a large harem full of people off all types. He dose have a few true loves which rains above all others and will stay by his side throught everything and are unlike the others who aren't there as much )

Lotus felt a sense of panic as he heard those words "I love you" he didn't know if he was even able to say it back as he did feel somthing for her, but it was mild.

Lotus was quite familiar with i love you since it expressed his feeling or just anyone's feelings to another.

But he had never once said he was inlove with anyone before, and now after hearing this and and being captured by the resistance it made him think.

He never told her that he was inlove with her... No lotus was afraid of his heart being shattering incase she didn't feel the same, he was okay on dealing with others but when it came to her he took it all to heart and her options mattered deeply, he couldn't bare to hear those awful words so he just stayed quiet.

Even after they made love and took eachothers firsts.

Lotus couldn't bare these feeling anymore and he looked up at Diana with a tear droplets forming in his eyes.

"I'm going to head so my room 'sniffle' thank you for always being will me for these past few weeks... nee-chan" he leaned in and kissed her cheek before turning around and walking away.

She touched were he kissed and she was devastated "was I just friend zoned?" she thought to herself meanwhile lotus dissapeared.

[Lotus's PoV]

Getting back to the room he was having a comolete melt down. Besides suffering from [akin atonement] this was his first melt down or braking point hit, you could say Diana was the reason why he didn't snap.

"Fuck! I had that stupid mission were I left to collect all those essence becuase I was told so! Then I did as I pleased and stay inside the void for heavens knows how many years thinking it be fine if I didn't return after all it dosen't matter! Yes it does! It all matters! And then I leave on some stupid adventures I was supposed to be on with Maria and I have no clue what happened to her! and then I was captured by a stupid snake man and now for the past three weeks I've been trapped here just braking away at this place peice by peice for what, a silly scheme which worked but also failed in Meny ways!" he started having a mental brake down meanwhile adéla was just sitting on the bed deeply confused but listening in on this.

"Why am I like this! I've been so selfish and thinking only about myself!" he falls to his knees as he slams his head onto the floor "I've been becoming more of a luicifer than I though... It's not all about me" he just hits his head on the floor again.

He just starts rambling as he weeps, it was a completely normal brake down

Not long after he feels the arms of someone embracing him, this went on for a while before he ended up just crying in adéla's arms.

Just like a baby he cried himself to sleep and once he fell asleep his transformation broke revealing his horns and tail.

This completely shocked Adéla but right know she was more forced on helping out her friend, despite not treating him like one, she thought of him as one and it was hard to admit, but she might of even fallen for him as well.

So laying him down on bed she took of his clothing off to give his tail air since there was no tail hole in the servent outfit.

But then she layed next to him, just hugging him and keeping him close as this was the only method of comfort she could think of.

***Midnight's Arrival***

Opening his eyes he sees Adéla and also a system count down.

Waking up inside of a fancy room he heard yelling, fire alarms, screams, and sirens, he was already in his demonic form and wearing his incubi clothing.

He got up and walked over to the window were he saw a small flood of zombies chasing humans and also hitting on their car's.

He noticed a group entered this building and he sighed "I guess i'll just go and sleep until I get Hungary" he goes And simply lays back down as it wasen't worth it to go explore or do the survival thing.

He was just going to be lazy for a bit as he might not of been in complete shambles anymore, but he wasn't about to go insane over a hord of mindless zombies.

He just desided to use this time to train his darkness and blood manipulation after all he'll have a year to himself anyways.
