Yun Kai followed Mrs. Ji away and as soon as they sat in the car, Mrs. Ji closed her eyes and leaned back in her seat.
She understood the feeling of betrayal all too well, but she didn't know how to comfort Mrs. Ji.
Perhaps she didn't need comfort and just wanted some quiet, with someone by her side.
So, Yun Kai kept silent, simply holding Mrs. Ji's hand, offering her unintended care, then had Mark drive Mrs. Ji home.
A moment later, Mrs. Ji regained her composure, "Thank you for today, Yun Kai."
Yun Kai smiled, "Auntie, you don't have to be polite."
She paused, then added a few more words, "You... shouldn't keep being angry, either. It's not worth it to be heartbroken and upset, or to disrupt your own life, over someone who doesn't love you and has betrayed you."
