A cacophony of noises surrounded them. Pieces and bits of screams and cries blew their way, but they both chose to ignore it. The only sound they could hear was their heartbeat.

Richard looked bewildered in a way of confusion. The early morning had still yet to wake him up. What more, her words had left him confused. Slowly processing, he started to find his voice.

"What are you talking about, Rebecca?"

Rebecca took a deep breath in. She had prepared her heart for this. She knew it was going to happen. She knew it, but at the same time, she wished it would never come.

"I know what's in the basement," she proceeded to say. Her words slow and somber ringing in his ears. "The potion, the person - everything."

"What does that have to do with anything?" he asked. His brows wrinkled thickly into his forehead.

A part of him knew what she meant, but he ignored it. She knew that too, but still continued to explain to him.
