Avina gazed out the window as the land moved past her. The sun peeked out from the horizon, greeting the newborn day with a gentle kiss. Muddled with uneven purples and blues, night begets day.
Avina looked behind her to see the soundly, sleeping Quin. She leaned on Taylor's shoulders and soft snores escaped her mouth. Jessica had her arms crossed and eyebrows wrinkled as she leaned on the window. Though Avina didn't know what she was dreaming about, she could guess it was unpleasant. Jessica had groaned for the 10th time already. Maria was riding in another car today because Avina had to keep Quin by her side. Luckily, Maria didn't mind that much.
"You know," Avina said as her eyes shifted to Joseph, "I can drive while you rest. You haven't slept at all."
