It didn't even take a minute for the atmosphere to take a deep dive. Jasper took the opportunity and grasped it in his hands. It didn't matter that Avina didn't want it to end this way or that she didn't want to rip their whole masks off. Jasper wanted to take some petty revenge.
"You don't think we're worthy of being partners with you?" Jasper's voice rose in volumes with each word. He spoke exaggeratedly, aggressively, and with so much emotion, you'd actually think he was offended.
"I don't know what we have that you wouldn't like." Jasper backed off and shook his head. He combed his messy locks with his fingers. "But I certainly can't allow you to blatantly insult us like that."
Jane turned her head and glared at Avina. She jammed her elbow into Avina's ribcage and whispered underneath her breath, "Apologize."
Avina wrinkled her brows in return. She looked at Jasper and said, "I didn't mean that-"
