There was a table seated in the center of the room. It was the same place where Avina found the book, the same place where she sat down and thought about things, the same place she read, and now, the same place she moped.

Money was everything. Well, maybe not *everything* but it can sure get you nearly everything. Even the Grand Magus couldn't escape the power of money. How else could they sponsor all their heavy ingredient spending without money?

If she knew her mission was to secure spending money, then she would have talked. If she knew that they were practically poor, she would have talked. If she knew, then she wouldn't be so sad right now!

On the table, two heads rest together and their tears soaked the wooden surface underneath. Vatoly was crying real tears, the kind that rolled down the cheeks and wetted the eyes. And though Avina wished she could do the same, the pain was real in her heart.
