"Mr Wayde, May I take a leave this afternoon?" Hanging the phone, Blake rushed to the office. Upon seeing the man sitting behind the office desk, she asked.
"Why?" Nolan Wayde lay his eyes on Blake's face.
"It was my friend... He had an accident... I need to go to the hospital." Blake said anxiously. It was her boyfriend, actually. But somehow, she just didn't want to reveal that to Nolan, her boss.
Nolan frowned a bit, and studied Blake's expression for a second. Blake has been working as his assistant for half a year by now. She is very diligent and organized, and this is her first time asking for a leave.
"Okay." He finally said.
"Thank you so much! Mr Wayde!" Blake thanked him sincerely and left in a hurry.
Unknown to Blake, Nolan stared at her back figure for a few more seconds while she was hurrying to go.

Blake's tears fell down when she saw Adam Hills, her boyfriend, lying on the bed unconsiously.
"Adam..."Blake held his hand and sat by his bed, not knowing what to do. The doctor said that the hit on Adam's head was not fatal, but it may take a few days before he could wake up.
She stared at Adam's face, couldn't help but recalled all the memories she and Adam had. She met Adam about half an year ago, right after she got her job in the Tower corporation. That day, she almost got late so she rushed to get to the office, but bumped into a reporter who was having an interview with someone in the company and her coffee was all spilled on his shirt. Their first encounter was not a pleasant one. But Adam's handsome face attracted Blake immediately and she fell for him just as that tiny coffee spot. Although she and Adam hadn't spent much time together, as they are both busy, she always believed that Adam was the one for her.
Suddenly, her memory was interrupted by a sudden voice from behind. "Are you Miss Blake Ryan? Mr. And Mrs. Hills are here to see you."
"Yes, I am. But excuse me. Who are Mr. And Mrs. Hills?" Nora quickly stood up, wipe her face and asked. The man standing by the door was in a black suit, he looks strong and faceless, like a bodyguard. Blake can tell that he is serving someone important on the first sight.
"They are your boyfriend, Adam Hills's parents. They will arrive in a few minutes." The person in black suit answered without any emotion.
"Adam's parents?" Blake suddenly felt anxious. She has only been dating Adam for a few month so naturally she hasn't met his parents yet. But on second thoughts, she knows that it's quite normal for her parents to appear here in the hospital, as Adam is in a serious condition.
But it seems that Adam's parents are not ordinary people... But Adam never told me about them... Blake thought to herself.
About 10 minutes later, a man and woman in their fifties arrived together with some people in black suit, just like the one Blake saw earlier. At first sight, Blake knew they were Adam's parents, because she found some resemblance between their faces and Adam's.
"You are Blake Ryan." Instead of going to Adam's place, the woman in a velvet black dress, Mrs Hills, slowly walked in front of Blake and asked.
"Yes, I am Blake Ryan." Blake felt so nervous to look into the eyes of Mrs Hills that even she tried to control herself, her voice was still slightly trembling.
"Good. So I heard that you have been dating with my son?" She glanced at Blake, and asked while stroking a jade bracelet on her wrist.
"Yes, we have been dating for nearly half a year."
"Half a year. " Mrs Hills nodded, "My son never told you that he was one of the Hills family?"
The Hills family? Blake swore that she had heard of it before, but she just couldn't remember what "the Hills family" meant at that moment.
"Are you aware that becoming the wife of my son means becoming the future luna in our pack?" Mrs. Hills continued to ask.
Luna? Pack? These unfamiliar words whirled above Blake's head and she tried to figure out what they meant eagerly like a drowning person trying to find something to grab. But it seems that her brain was frozen by the unexpected question. She didn't know what to think or say.
"I..."
Apparently, Mrs Hills was not satisfied with Blake's reaction. A deep frown formed on her forehead as she said, "You're not good enough for Adam. Leave him."
