Son Of Darkness

The son of darkness shall bring the light

While delivering us from the war gods might

It shall be a brazly fight

With the war gods kin to pierce his skin

And a bold friend up till the end

My name is Joshua. I'm only in high school and the world just got a lot bigger. I just found out that greek gods actually exist. Yes, greek gods. Zeus, Hera, Ares and all them. I'm supposedly this child of prophecy or something. I don't know all the details yet but let me take you back to when I first began to see the truth. ( for time being I'm going to record the events that are about to happen because it's about to get interesting)

The day started as any other. I woke up, had my toast and cereal and made my way to the bus. My mother left me a birthday surprise, $5 in my lunch bag. My highschool is just as simple as my mornings; peers walking around, the bully scaring a freshman for money, our useless principal. That's Hercules High for you. Just a plain Jane school.

I was making my way to the first period. Emma, my friend, bumped into me stumbling a little.

"Hey Josh! How was your sixteenth birthday." She sounded excited.

" Ah you know, same old same old. Bowling alley with my family. But I got the new game I wanted and a bike"

"Nice man! Maybe now we can go biking together!" She's always been there and always been so kind. Hearing her talking like this had me smiling like a clown.

As we rounded the corner to our first period, her face had changed. She seems puzzled and almost worried. I had rarely seen her like that

" hey Emma are you ok, you got a little face going on there"

" Oh i'm fine! I just thought that something happened at your party"

" nope just the usual, the only unusual thing was that I had the highest score but that was really it"

" are you sure? Nothing strange besides winning? "

" Nope. Nothing different than the us-"

The first period bell cut me off. Me and her scuttled into class and got to our seats. Emma's face seemed calmer but something in her eyes didn't sit right. I pushed it out of my mind for now.

The school day went on as normal, but Emma's question was still burning in my mind. .

Chapter 2

I walked out of the building and saw my other friend, Marko, standing with his buddies whom i didn't like very much.

"Hey marko, whats up?" I asked casually.

"Not much man, were still hanging out later right?' He replied.

"Actually he has plans with me." Said a familiar voice. I turned around and saw Emma standing behind me, "Umm I guess I have plans with emma." I stammered.

I've never thought that she had cared this much, but now seeing her like this, I'm starting to think she's more worried than caring

"Well if he has plans with you then I guess he has to go play with the princess." He said jokingly.

"Look Josh we need to talk about your birthday" she said dragging me like a rag doll. Marko and his little friends snickered

"Uhm sure Emma, what's the issue" I said questioningly. She then stared straight into my eyes. At that moment my whole world seemed to stop. The wind blowing her rich brown hair; the light bouncing off her charcoal eyes, my hand touching her soft caramel skin. She looked like a dream come to life. As she spoke i snapped back to reality

"I wanted to know if we could go hiking on Sunday. I have to tell you something important and I don't want anyone around". She said seriously.

" Sure why not." I replied. Suddenly her look of fear turned to excitement. Her smile shined through and her cheeks blushed ever so slightly.

" Great! See ya Sunday at 12 by the old trail behind my house!" She said running to the bus.

" Alright see you there!" My heart pounded. I never thought she could ever see me more than just a friend and now she's asking me to hike with her. I've never had the guts to tell her how I feel. She was the center of my world. Maybe Sunday was the day she would admit the same.

I took the bus home that day. Slowly losing my sense of feeling and motivation knowing Emma was leaving me. The thought of home was worse then the feeling of her leaving me. Maybe just maybe today was going to be different.

"Hey mom, Im home!" I yelled as I walked in.

To my surprise it was my mom's boyfriend Richie who answered me.

"OH look who's home?!"

"Great drunk again," I thought.

"There's dishes for you to do since your mother isn't home." He screamed.

I knew getting into it with him would only make it worse so I just did the dishes reluctantly. With each dish I laid to dry I felt a little more complete. I finished in about 15 minutes and went straight to my room. I fell back onto my bed sinking into the sheets. Richie's drunken ramblings echoed through the house, like a broken record. The only way to block the sound is thinking about my biological father. He left us when I was little because of some " secret service". I knew very little about him, only the things my mom told me. She always said he was this menacing tough guy with a heart of gold, and that he was very loving towards me and my mother. The only thing he left behind was a silver with some weird scribbles engraved on it and a note saying " I'll always be with you both in the shadows". That note plays in my head every night. Every time it plays I feel more connected and closer to my father. I never understood why it happened but I've never questioned it either. It only stops when dawn breaks and my room floods with light. Since the first night the note started to play I vowed to find my father and find out what he meant and why he left.

I sat back up on my bed and just contemplated on why I thought these things. I looked up on my dresser and stared at the ring. My mom said she left it in my room so I can have a piece of my father with me. It never really interested me until now. I pushed myself off my bed and picked up the ring. Just holding it made me feel closer to him. Against my better judgment I put the ring on. Suddenly my hand started to shake and the ring started to melt and transform into a brass knuckle with a long silver blade attached to the bottom. I ripped it off my hand and threw it to the floor.

"What in the hell just happened?" I said shakily. I picked the ring back up and put it back on the dresser. I sat back on my bed trembling and sweating. I was in total shock. I suddenly heard a knock on my bedroom door

" Josh, we need to talk. It's about your father" said my mother.

" uhm yeah sure mom just give me a minute" I replied. I quickly cleared the sweat from my face and opened the door. She soberly sat on the corner of my bed and began to talk.

"We need to talk about your father.." She said with a tear in her eye .

"You know your father was a very mysterious man, He was only thinking of us as he left all those years ago, he told me another thing to tell you that day, but he told me to wait for today when you reached adulthood, He said "Teach him how to use his powers and you must tell him that my life doesnt shape his.." She trailed off. At that moment I knew that she knew about the ring. I grabbed it and put it on, it magically transformed back into that weapon. We just stared at it for what seemed like an eternity, until I said "What am I?" Then she dropped this huge bombshell, "You're a demigod." I felt my heart beat grow faster and faster, I began to feel hazy and nauseous. "Dad was a god..?" I asked. "Yes," My mother replied, her voice now stern but full of concern," But not a regular god, a greek good, Erebus the god of darkness and shadows." She said that name with fear dripping from her voice. I began to steady myself, I tried to process my thoughts but Emma's weird behavior kept popping back into my mind, "Emma kept asking me if I was ok, does she know about this?" I asked. "Yes she does, she was assigned by the camp to be your delivery girl so to speak." My mother replied evenly. "Josh I know this is a lot to take in right now, but you have to believe me, you have to understand!" My mother began to scream frantically. I was so confused and I was in such a weird state of mind that I just ran out of the house, the last thing I remember hearing is my mother screaming like a banshee. Her last words that I remember were "Get to the camp and find the one with fire in his eyes!" I ran until I felt my legs were no longer attached to my body, I colassped clutching the ring in my hand. I was so exhausted that I nearly passed out, I pulled myself next to a nearby tree and passed out.

I woke up hours later with blurry vision and a splitting headache. I quickly started to regain my senses. The tree, the ring, everything came back like a rush. I sat up and leaned my head against the tree and saw a black figure, like a crow with a man's body. "Stay away! Get back!" I screamed.

"You child of darkness must answer to the harpy queen's call" One said. "For the light of all mankind shall fall"

Another said. "From the darkness you carry shall kill us all" kawed another.

"Whose darkness?" I stammered. They didn't answer me; they just kept repeating the lines they said. "Josh duck!!" Someone shouted. Emma burst out of the woods like a bat out of hell, she quickly killed the half breed birds with quick arrows to each creature. "Are you ok?" She grabbed me and asked frantically. I was still in a daze from what had happened around me, I couldn't meet her eyes. I snapped back into reality just as a large black figure erupted out of the shadows, I shoved Emma back and raced forward, courage exploding out of me, I slipped the ring on and stabbed the beast with my sword. I didn't even get a look at its face because it was pure darkness. Instead of dying the transformed darkness just absorbed into my body, all i could hear was a deep manly voice that uttered, "A gift from the dark one, use your new power well." I stumbled back, almost falling to the ground but Emma caught me at the last moment. My eyes began to feel heavy and lifeless, my body as heavy as stone, almost as if I was falling asleep, but I knew better. My body couldn't handle the surge of new power, I was facing a total bodily shut down. I knew who this was, this was a gift from my father, I knew what he was thinking, happy birthday son, now survive till your next one.

I woke up in a heavy daze, I felt like I wasn't myself. Once I fully regained consciousness I noticed that there were tubes digging into my arms, I freaked out and tried to rip them off. But huge dark hands came out of the shadows to stop me. Finally a familiar voice came into earshot, "Josh, calm down!" Emma screamed. "You're in a safe place, you just passed out,"-"We need to know exactly what happened to him, everyone in the camp can feel the darkness coming from him"A Gravelly voice cut her off. Then the rough voice began talking to me, "What do you feel boy, Are you in any pain?" HE asked. "No." I replied. The dark shadowy hands began to slowly back away from the edges of my bed. "Let me out of her, I'm fine!" I screamed. "I'm sorry my dear boy I can't regret it, at least not yet." The rough voice returned with a sten reply. "Let me in there, Borus!" Emma shouted, "At least let me explain." She pleaded. I couldn't catch the rest of what they were saying but after a few minutes she raced in from the other room. Then she began to ask me all these questions, none of which I paid attention to because I began to feel hazy again, I couldn't feel my hands and the feeling began to trickle up my body into my arms. I looked around frantically, I lifted up my right hand, trying to make a fist but instead of my regular hand all I saw was a pitch black hand, as my hand was gone and a dark black mass had taken its place. I clenched my fist in fear, then my regular hand returned. I looked at Emma but she was looking at me with a look of pure fear in her eyes. I knew something was wrong, I had to get out of here. I began to feel a surge of rage well up inside me, "Let me out of here!" I screamed. I began to remove the tubes, the hands nowhere to be found, I removed the final tube and got to my feet, I felt a little dizzy but stormed out of the room. I looked down the hallway and saw a light at the door, I ran towards the light and busted through the door. I looked around and I saw what looked to be a normal summer camp, the only different thing was huge ivory statues in front of what looked like cabins. Emma ran up beside me and said, "Well I wanted to give you a proper tour but welcome to camp DemiGod."

Chapter 3

I looked at her and stammered, "Camp what?" She laughed and said, "Camp Demi-God, a home for the sons and daughters of the gods and goddesses," "Does that mean my dad was actually a god," I asked. "Yes, he was, and you weren't even supposed to be born." A voice said from behind us. I spun around and finally got a good look at the man with the rough gravelly voice. He was a tall build man, with long brown hair and dark brown eyes. "Your father is what we call a primordial deity, he is the god of shadows, Erebus. He sent us a messenger to let us know that you'd be here soon, it was a man of pure- ``''Shadow right," I cut the man off. "Yes, I assume he found you then?" He asked. "Yeah." I said. I was still trying to process what he said, my dad sent a messenger to let them know i'd be coming? Maybe there's more to my father than I originally thought. I clenched my fist and the darkness returned, I looked around and the man had a new look in his eyes, one that I couldn't quite guess. But he definitely wasn't afraid. "What did you mean when you said I was never supposed to be born?" I asked. "Deities don't normally have kids, ever. It's never happened. So when your father said you'd be coming, we knew that you weren't supposed to be alive, we knew that you'd have hell to pay for just being born. Everyone is gonna want to get you and kill you." HE replied evenly.

"Well I'm gonna prove the gods wrong. No matter what it takes." I could feel the venom and determination dripping from my own voice. "Well if that's the case then you'd better learn to control your powers, you'd better give him the full tour Emma." The man said as he turned to walk away. "Have him come see me after dinner later tonight." He continued, "You got it Borus," She said. She slung her arm around me and led me towards the cabins, "Here we have the cabins, the cabins are homes to the sons and daughters of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, Hestia and Dionysus." She said. I looked from cabin to cabin as we walked by. "Over here we have the weapon cabin, where we store our weapons and our first stop." She continued. As we walked in I noticed the walls were lined with glittering swords, curved daggers, long spears and sturdy shields. "Since you have that sword from your ring I think you should pick a shield or a dagger." She said. I began to browse the weapons like I was at a supermarket, slowly shuffling through the daggers and shields. I picked up a pitch black dagger with a blade that glittered in the sunlight, the blade was a thin, long blade that was roughly the length of my forearm. I grabbed one of the sheathes that were next to the dagger rack and slipped it into my jeans.

"Nice blade, but I like mine better," Emma said, She whipped out a long thin and pointy sword the size of her arm. "Looks decent, but if i'm going to be fighting monsters i want all the offense I can get." I replied. "Anyway on with the tour," SHe said as she led the way out of the cabin. "Over that way is the lake and arena," She said as she pointed to the east, we kept walking and talking for around twenty minutes. The camp was full of things to do, it had a capture the flag area, forge, and a lake where you can have some fun. I was honestly surprised how well this camp is suited for kids and teens, let alone demigods. "Wanna head down to the arena, and see how your battlefield reflexes are?" Emma asked. A shot of fear raced into my heart, I didn't know anything about fighting and I hardly knew anything about this new demigod world I just got thrown into. But I have no idea why I said "Yeah sure, why not" As we walked down to the arena I gripped my blade harder and harder, as we walked into the arena, I slipped the ring on my finger and my blade morphed into being. We separated and she gave me a look of pure confidence, "Are you ready?" she asked. I swallowed my fear and said, "Whenever you are." I slid my dagger out of its sheath and flipped it around in my hand, it felt natural and so right, she drew her blade and gave me a seductive smile. All my fear and anxiety melted away as I raced towards her, I knew this was the world where I belonged. I slashed upwords with my sword, she dodged, she slashed, I dodged and the process went on for hours, neither of us wanting to give up, nor back down.

I thought to myself, "She's a lot more experienced than me, I have to be unorthodox." I threw my dagger in the air, and I went on the offensive, I kept slashing and stabbing, she didn't expect that so she rolled out of the way, I heard my dagger come screaming down, I grabbed it out of the sky and kept pushing forward. I kicked her sword out of the way and pressed my dagger up against her throat. "I think we know who won that round." I said confidently. I put my weapons away and helped her up, just as a long loud horn echoed throughout the skys. "Oh Good, the dinner horn." She said with a smile. As we walked down to the dinning hall I noticed all the mythical creatures that inhabited the camp, the nymphs and satyrs that i've read about in books. As we kept walking to the hall I began to notice how populated this camp actually was. I saw teens of all shapes and sizes, and they all carried different weapons, from swords to spears. But they all kept giving me the same look. A look of fear and awe, as if they knew who I was before I did. I snapped back into reality as me and Emma entered the dining hall. It had incredible architecture and it resembled a greek pavilion. "Come eat at my table, you kinda don't have your own," She said. I sat down next to her, she began to pray, and a plate of steak and mashed potatoes appeared in front of her. She must have seen my look of shock because she let out a hearty laugh, and she said "You have to pray to the gods for some food, they'll take some out of it but it's always enough to fill your hunger." I pressed my hands together and thought, "Who am I gonna pray too? My father? He doesn't deserve my prayers," I opened my eyes, I was in shock because it was my favorite meal, Pot Roast with egg noodles and mashed potatoes, I tried a bite and I nearly cried. It tasted just like my mom makes, then I thought about what happened with my mom the day I left. How she was screaming frantically and begging me to understand what she was saying. I hope she knew that I was alright at least. "Thinking about your mom aren't you?" Emma asked. I nodded. "I know her, she's fine trust me." For some reason I did. I left her with a scumbag boyfriend Riky, I've wanted to beat the living hell out of that guy more times then I care to count.

I kept eating and it tasted so good, I felt a tap on my shoulder, turned around and saw the man Emma was talking with. I began to search my brain for his name, "Come with me son," He said. I got up and began walking with him. "Lets go to the arena, well talk about your powers." At that moment I forgot about my meal, I felt my stomach tense up in anticipation. We walked in silence after that, as we got to the arena he looked at me and said, "Put your ring on, then clench your fist." He said. I did as I was told, I yelped and jumped back in shock. My blade was glowing a dark black flame. "Easy, Look at the flame, it's not leaving the blade, '' Borus said. I followed his eyes and looked at the flame, It didn't leave the blade. I unclenched my fist and the flames stopped. "Now tense up your whole left arm." Borus said. I did, my arm turned pitch black. "Now stay perfectly still.." He continued. He whipped out a sword faster than I could blink, he slammed the flat side of the blade against my arm. At that exact moment my face changed into a face of pure terror but to my surprise, the blade let out a loud clattering sound as it shattered against my arm. My first thought was "Holy Fuck, this is incredible." As I looked at the shattered sword I knew I wasn't like any other demigod, like Borus said I was never supposed to be born. I Have abilities like no other, so no one knew what I had coming but me. But that also means no one knows what I can do but me. And at that thought I felt myself smile. "You feel your own power don't you?" Borus said. "Yes I do. It feels incredible." I could feel confidence surging up inside me. Before I knew it I was flat on my back, looking up I saw Borus. "You have much left to learn," He said with a smirk. He helped me up and we walked back to the dinner hall. I noticed as we walked back that no one was eating. As we entered the hall I noticed something large and feathery, my body began to sense something powerful and evil. Before I knew it Borus had his hand on my mouth, he gave me the silent gesture. I held my body from surging forward and charging the beast.

"Let me deal with this, you're not ready." He whispered. "Sneak around and find everyone, be my backup." He continued. Before he charged, he gave me a little wink. As if to say "The fun now begins." He ran into the beast's view and shouted, "Hey Ugly" The beast whipped around and I could see the creature, it looked exactly like the ones that attacked me in the forest. I felt a new sense of rage bubble inside me, could this be the harpy king they spoke of? I wondered. I drew my blades, sprinted to the cabins, I saw a group of six kids and raced toward them. "Borus is in trouble, three of you with me, the rest get the others and hurry. They raced off, the first three grabbed weapons and we raced off towards the dinner hall. As we got closer and closer I could hear Borus fighting the massive bird. I didnt think, I raced forward, let out a blood curdling scream, and stabbed the creature in the face with my dagger. I whipped around and gorged my sword into the beast's human-like right eye. It let out a bone chilling screach, I decided to try something new, I made a fist and punched the creature in the beak. I found myself smiling at fact the beast was in pain. I almost enjoyed inflicting pain onto it, I scared myself for a half a second and then I remembered who this was, the Harpy king. Before I knew what hit me I was flat on my back with a throbbing pain in my chest, the harpy smacked me with its massive wing. I realized now I was injured and weaponless, Not good, I thought. I staggered to my feet, made two fists and summoned the only weapon I could think of, my darkness.

I felt my rage begin to burn, my dark fists began to sizzle, I raced forward, thinking about getting my sword and dagger back. I had my eyes on the harpies' wings, it swung its massive right wing at me, before I could react I sprang up, grabbed my sword and dagger, and retreated back with the group of other campers. We all stood around waiting for the harpies next move, but it just looked at me with cold dead eyes. Then it gave off this creepy smile, seeing as the beast had no teeth it made it even worse, then the unexpected happened, it spoke. "Well done, son of darkness," She said. "But you'll have to do better than that if you want to beat, Celaeno the harpy queen!" Then she began to kaw, as if to mock me. "I will kill you, you winged bitch." I said to myself, my eyes burning intently into the harpies back as she flew away. Borus put his hand on my back and said, "We need to talk."

Hours later

"So that was the immortal leader of the harpies challenging me to a fight, and I have to go bare handed?" I asked. "Well yes and no, but you must be able to use your black flames." Borus said. I was so lost in thought, I was staring at the campers cleaning up the mess from the harpy queen. I got up from a nearby table and said, "Then let's train," Borus stood up and said "I know the perfect person to help you." He gave a sly smile. "Me." He continued. He looked to the people cleaning, "Indy, you got this right?" He asked. A thin boy with red hair looked up and said, "Yeah, i'm good." He responded. "Where do you think your going?" A voice said. I whipped around and saw Emma standing behind me. "To the arena, I've got an overgrown chicken to kill." I said sternly. I could see the concern in her eyes but I pushed it to the back of my mind, "well i'm coming with you." She said. "To train fine, but your not coming with me to kill her." I said. "You don't have a choice." Borus interjected. "A quest like this usually has at least three campers, but since she wants you and you alone were only sending you with one other person." Borus finished.

I didn't want her there, I knew I wouldn't be able to control myself around the harpy queen. I knew she'd be able to see all the anger that i've been hiding ever since I found out who i really was. I knew I'd unleash everything on that overgrown chicken lady. I had to train first, we walked in silence until we got in the arena. Me, Emma and Borus separated, I could feel the bloodlust and murderous intent flowing off of me. I knew they could feel it too, Emma was hesitant to come at me. I was in such a bad mood that my first thought was to make it easier for her. I charged her, she had a look of fear in her eyes as I swiped at her with my fists. I felt a new sense of rage, at that my hands glowed my black flames, she jumped back in fear. I flew into a rage, my vision began to go red. I didn't feel any of my punches connect but I could feel my hands getting hotter and hotter after every punch. I failed my right arm wildly, someone caught my hand. I opened my eyes and saw Borus standing over a shivering Emma. I wasn't in my right mind, I swung at him with my left hand. He kicked me in the sternum, I tried to swing as I was blasted back but I got a fist of air. I tried to calm down but I couldn't. I let out a scream, and swung, then fire extended from my hand. I was in such a shock, I had no idea what I had done, I looked at the direction of the flame. Borus was nowhere in sight, then he appeared next to me and knocked me on my back. I fumbled for my dagger, as soon as it was firmly in my hands it erupted in black flames. I scrambled to grab my ring out of my pocket, as soon as it morphed into my sword that erupted in black flames. I had a feeling that this wouldn't be the best thing i'd ever do but, i didn't care at the time.

I charged Borus, and before I could even blink I was disarmed and flat on my back. "Enough, training is over." He said. I could feel the rage inside me being replaced with fear, as I remembered the look in Emma's eyes. I put my dagger away and my sword just transformed back into the ring. I got up and raced over to her, she was curled up into a ball, her shirt had small holes and burn marks everywhere. "Are you ok?" I stammered. No response, I couldn't think of anything else to do. I pulled up toward me like a small child, then she got up and looked at me with a face of pure terror. I just gave her a hug. Then she hugged me back, my heart did a little dance, I just pushed it to the back of my mind. I knew I had to kill the Harpy queen to get any feel of normalcy. I felt a new rage, a sense of rage that I can control.

Hours later

I was in the dining area getting ready to go fight the harpy queen,I was putting everything I thought I needed in a black backpack that Borus had given me, I put some meds, bandages, and some gloves. Emma walked in and said, "Your gonna need a lot more things then that if you want to be fully prepared." "You're sure you don't wanna stay," I asked, pushing what she said out of my mind. "I got you pretty good," "Yeah I'm sure, if I can't handle you then I'm not fit to live this life." She responded with a smirk. She flipped off her back pack, pulled out some golden liquid in a bottle, and some light yellow squares of what look to be some brownie like food. "The liquid is nectar, the cake is ambrosia, it basically tastes like your favorite things while it heals you, and maybe it is the food and drink of the gods." She smiled. I wasn't really paying attention, I could see that what I had done hurt her. I felt so sorry, I hate hurting people I care about. I knew I had to make it up to her. But I couldn't do that yet, I had to focus on the harpy queen. "When do we leave.." I asked. "Now", she said, her voice suddenly dark.

"We found out where she's holed up, Kitty Ann Mountain." She continued. "How are we gonna get there," I asked. "We do have pegasus," She said. We walked in silence to the stabled, got our horses, and saddled up. "Alright josh, you ready,?" Emmas asked. I knew this was the real deal, I knew once we found her it was no holds barred anything goes, at that thought I could feel myself starting to smile. "I've never been more ready," I said. We got on our horses, walked outside the stables and we knew this was it. This might be our last time to see this place ever. "I hope you two are ready, we don't know what will happen once we find this harpy queen." Borus said, riding up next to us on his own horse. Neither of us said anything, we just looked at him, "I guess we should get going then" He said. With that we took off, riding into a nest of demon chickens.

Kitty Ann Mountain, two hours later

I got off my horse, grabbed my back and my weapons, and screamed, "I'm here! You want me so badly, COME GET ME!!" I had been getting myself mentally ready all the way here, I was so ready I didn't want to wait. I heard a bird law in the distance, I flipped around and saw a crow, sitting on a tree a few feet away. I knew the fact that she wasnt charging out of the forest meant she wanted to be found, not goated out. I knew I could find her, I could sense her blood lust, and her malace for me. I knew she wanted me dead, I just had to kill her before that happened. I could feel the hate for her flowing off me like a river in the spring, I knew she could feel it too. I could sense her wariness because she had no idea what I had planned for her. I could practically smell her from where I was. "Follow me, I know where she is." I gestured to Emma. We got in a single file line, all behind me. We walked a few miles and came to a cave, a deep damp cave that looks like it's been home to a family of wolves. As we walked deeper I saw more and more feathers, then some bones, some swords and other weapons.

The rusted weapons made me think of the innocent she has killed, that infuriated me even more. We walked into a large open cavern, I could barely see, but I could see the harpy queen sitting on a rock that was in the shape of a throne. I silently drew my blade, and morphed my ring, I couldn't think clearly, all my rage flooded back to me. My flames started to burn black flames, I knew I'd messed up, I shouldn't have let her see our position, I didn't care much. I charged her blindly, I knew what I planned to do, "Josh WAIT!!" Emma screamed!! I didn't care, this was my fight, I was prepared to let all my anger out on this overgrown chicken, I knew this wasn't going to be easy. But I was ready for it. I Slashed and stabbed over and over but none of my hits connected. She dodged all of them, that infuriated me even more, then with a blur of feathers she went on the offensive, she managed to knock both my blades out of my hands, I was in shock more a split second, and in that second I was flat on my back with her bird like foot over my chest. As she slammed it down, I could feel my body giving to her sheer mass. I tried not to groan in pain but I couldn't help it.

I let out a yelp of pain, "Yes scream and beg for your life, you pitiful human reject." She screamed. I knew what I had to do next, I channeled my rage into my hands, I gripped her ankle, before I knew it I was on the move, the more I channeled my rage the faster I could feel her ankle getting thinner and thinner. Then it just fell off her leg entirely, I got off a cruel smile, the harpy queen fell on her back, screaming and waking like a bird. I tried to finish her off but I froze, after all the pain she caused me I had to make her suffer. I grabbed her other leg, higher up, near the top of her calf, my hands still burning. Her screams were like a song of rainbows and lollipops to me, I swung her around, and laughed. I laughed, the first time i've laughed since this whole ordeal started, and it felt good to make her feel pain. I let go, grabbed my dagger, and stabbed her in the side.

She let out a scream that flooded me with pure joy, I ripped my blade out, tossed it aside, set my hands aflame, and grabbed her by the face. I had to make sure she knew she had no chance of survival. I began to notice her body burning to ashes, I began to panic, I wasn't done, I wanted to make her suffer, I wanted to hear her scream more and more. I pushed my hands into her already burned face, I couldn't hear her scream anymore, but I could feel her pain. It was so immense I could feel tears coming in my own eyes. I watched her body completely melt into ashes. Even after I just sat in her ashes, not moving or blinking, I began to bawl my eyes out, I began to cry into my hands, they were no longer pure black, but still blazing hot, it hurt so much but I didn't care. Emma and Borus began to walk closer and closer, they seemed tense, they knew something was about to happen. I didn't much care, I just kept crying and crying. "Josh we have to leave, NOW." Emma said sternly. I ignored her. Before I could comprehend what she said I heard a lot of feathers move, and only one voice, not human, "ATTACK!" It screamed. Then an army of harpies came down from the heavens like demon angels from hell, thirsty for blood and only after one thing, my head.

The End
