The Luck Of A God, Seriously!?

"..."

She was silent, she didn't have anything else to say for herself, leaving one last option available, and that was to attack with everything she had.

She gritted her teeth in anger and dashed towards him as the last attempt.

"You are naught but a trash." Nikolai swung his sword at her for the last time and with the impact, broke it in half against her head.

The girl fell flat on the ground, unconscious.

The match was finally over, but no one was clapping anymore. The speech Nikolai presented was inspiring, and almost everyone agreed with it, but seeing his brutality, against a girl nonetheless, who was way weaker than him, didn't deserve praise.

There was a moment of silence, then it took a turn to a few seconds, then it was half a minute, but Tesshin was nowhere to be found. The spectators didn't know what to do so they dispersed. Momoyo lifted the girl from class S on her shoulder and went after Tesshin to heal her.

Momoyo could heal her by herself but there were certain risks involving infusing own Ki into someone's body. If they weren't compatible, the girl might have exploded and that wouldn't be nice. Her old man on the other hand, had healing mantras and other things.

Of course, the girl in question brought a deadly weapon to the school without permission, broke the rules, and threatened Nikolai's life during a simple spar.

Some students have permission to bring weapons to school, but she wasn't the one.

For example, Azumi, the maid of Kuki Hideo. She brought weapons to school for 'protection'. To protect the young Kuki prince who might be a target for a lot of people.

She had permission to bring knives and a gun to school, although the gun was just a modified rubber gun, and while it surely wasn't able to deal a decisive blow to the enemy, it sure left them in pain.

While it was a rubber gun, Nikolai didn't know that and ended up incapacitating her, thinking it was a real gun that could pose a threat.

Kuki corporation was growing in numbers, and slowly, they started taking over the world with technology and power.

Their offsprings were vulnerable, especially the prince, as he was the sole male that was born. He had two sisters, one of whom was an old rival of Momoyo. Her name was Ageha Kuki, and the other one was called Monshiro Kuki, who was a bastard child.

***

Seeing that no one was coming, Nikolai didn't feel like waiting any longer and went back to the classroom.

On his way there, he was interrupted by the weird screen again.

Aoi Touma Is Watching Your Presence

'Aoi Touma? No idea who that is. So far, I have 700MP points. I don't know what they are good for, but I will definitely look into it after school ends. Then there is still this roulette thing. I will have to check that out as well.'

But right now, he had the homeroom class, and after that, he should also receive the notification for the completed quest from way early in the morning.

He entered the classroom, and some of the students were already there, waiting.

Most of them had missed the fight that happened not too long ago, as they went home and returned, but there were a few students who saw the whole thing and were a bit scared to even approach him.

He sat down on his seat and patiently waited. He looked outside the window and noticed it started raining. At first, only a bit, but soon enough, it turned into a heavy downpour.

"Ah! It's raining outside..."

"Yeah...I didn't bring an umbrella with me...How unfortunate..."

The students despaired.

Hearing their complaints, Nikolai smiled. He really liked the rain. Listening to the rain, hitting the window sill, was quite comfortable.

This time, no one came to disturb him, as they were surely scared of him, was what he thought.

"Yo transfer student! How is life going? I heard you fought and won again, congrats! Here are twenty more meal tickets!" Captain entered the classroom kicking the door open with an evident enthusiasm in his voice.

"You are giving me meal tickets again? Why?"

"Well, it's because you are a free spirit, just like me! And you also won a match against our rivals from the classroom 2-S! You are one of us now! You deserve it!" The Captain placed the tickets on his table with a smack.

Nikolai let out a soft laugh.

This wasn't so bad after all. He was starting to like this guy. "I will take them then, but are you rich enough to give away tickets so easily like this? I heard they are quite expensive."

"Oh, don't worry, don't worry! I won the lottery a week ago!"

"Won the lottery?"

"Yeah, it was the first place, but only like five million yen, and unfortunately, I bought tons and tons of meal tickets, and I was broke again...But then this morning, I bet on a horse racing and won three hundred thousand yen! So I am good to go again, don't worry!!" The Captain said with a fire spirit burning in his eyes.

"...You are something else." Nikolai felt like this guy in front of him was the embodiment of luck. He won a lottery and then won the horse racing bet. What will be next?

Nikolai knew that he should definitely befriend this guy. Luck was a powerful weapon, not to be underestimated.

Captain searched his pockets and handed Nikolai a green onion cracker.

"Here, I got this from my work. I know a person who wouldn't stop flaunting about staple goods like green onions and beef like it's awesome food. I told him I didn't believe him, and he gave me an entire package filled with them, saying that it would definitely change my mind."

"..."

Nikolai stared at him with a hint of awe.

'I don't think I've ever met a person like this before.'

He ran around the classroom like a wind, giving away all of the green onion crackers he had with him. "I can't eat this much, man...And I don't want these to spoil, so it's better if I share!"

"Oh, Yamato, just about time! Here is one green onion cracker for you and Wanko!" Yamato just barely stepped inside the classroom, and he was already greeted with a sight of his Captain, running around again.

"Sheesh, Captain, chill a bit. You know that I hate onions. Wanko, you can have some." He threw the cracker into her hands, and she happily started munching on it.

He turned back to Captain and asked, "Captain, where were you again?"

"Ah...I was journeying in the Saitama region. I heard it had beautiful lakes!"

"Journey, huh...Do you still like them? I thought you learned your lesson after you spent the night under a bridge last time." Yamato joking added.

Captain's face turned from a full on exciting smile into a one full of gloom. "That was scary. When I woke up, an old man I didn't know was trying to take off my clothes...Well...it was fine because I managed to get away!" He said and put both of his hands on his hips in a victory pose.

"If I ever find that man, I will let him feel the same fear I experienced! I swear on the name of the Kazama Family!"

"That's a no no...I think he would enjoy it instead. Refrain from doing that, please, and don't dirty the name of our group like that..." Yamato sighed.

Captain was...a special case. He was more interested in adventuring than chasing girl skirts. That was a shame as he was pretty good looking and there were even a few girls interested in him.

Anything sexual related, however, missed him completely, as he was denser than osmium.

He was, without a doubt, the purest person in the Kazama family.

Captain noticed that it was raining outside and felt desperate, "Aw shucks maaan! I still have work after this! Please sun, you can do it, don't give up!"

"It seems like it won't stop raining for a while. I am giving it at least an hour, maybe two. Do you have an umbrella?" Yamato asked.

"Nope, I guess I will have to run through it somehow! Wish me luck! Well, so long, people! I still need to get rid of these somehow!" Captain grabbed a bag full of green onion bars and got up. "Time to deliver them to other classes and force them to take it!"

"That's not very...friendly...Anyway, we will have a homeroom in a few minutes! You can't just---Ah...there he goes again..."

"See ya, Yamato, Transfer guy, Wanko!" He waved at them and ran off.

Nikolai lightly nodded him off.

As he was leaning on his chair, he noticed a ray of sunshine coming from his left. He looked towards the window and his eyes widened.

He felt an unbearable chill down his spine and felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up.

'There is no way.'

The heavy downpour was nowhere to be seen, and the sun was shining as brightly as if it was summer.

'Nah...must be a coincidence. He couldn't have...' Nikolai refused to believe it.

He thought back to Captain's words, 'Please sun, you can do it, don't give up!' and immediately dismissed it.

'It's too stupid to be true.'

"Ah, it stopped raining!"

"Thank god!"

"..."

"Seriously? I looked up the weather online, and it said it would take a while to pass, oh well." Yamato put his phone back in his pocket and glanced towards Nikolai, "Yo! You were pretty wild back there. Nee-san was pretty heated."

"Nee-san?" Nikolai tried to search his memory and remembered that the red-haired girl he fought with, talked about some Nee-san as well, so he assumed he meant that very person.

"Nee-san is the Nee-san I was talking about during our match! Yamato also calls her like that because he is like her little brother." Kazuko explained.

Yamato kind of cringed at the thought but nodded, "I guess you can say that I am her little brother..."

"I see. So basically, your Nee-san is the granddaughter of the old man principal."

"Yes." Yamato sat down next to him on his seat and whispered, "Thanks for what you did during the fight. For Wanko. I was incredibly furious at that girl from before, yet I didn't act. You, on the other hand, rushed out of your seat immediately and attacked her. I am honestly envious of your strength and attitude that doesn't care about the rules."

Nikolai met his eyes and replied, "I only said what was necessary. People don't realize the value of something unless it's lost." With that, he turned away and faced the blackboard as he heard footsteps approaching.

"Attention class!" Teacher Umeko walked in expecting there to be a disaster happening like always but surprisingly, the class was quietly waiting for her.

"Good! Let me take attendance." She scanned across the room with her eyes and immediately noticed one empty seat.

She put one of her hand on her forehead and felt that another headache was coming her way.

"Where is Shouichi Kazama? Is he not here again?"

No one spoke.

She glared at Yamato and he shrunk and spilled the beans, "Ehm... Captain is working again..."

"Jeez, that boy will bring me to grave one day..." She wrote his name in the absence notebook and noticed he wasn't present for almost twenty consecutive homerooms.

"I shall make it quick so that you can go home. We are still searching for the culprits behind the window incidents. I've already talked about it this morning but just now, I've received a confirmation that it's officially been registered in the meal ticket task registry. The bidding auction will be held in two hours. The place will be the Kawakami Temple."

Everyone nodded and Yamato immediately pulled out his phone and messaged Captain about it, as he was usually the negotiator for stuff like that.

Not long after, he received a messages back with a confirmation.

"Honestly, I wouldn't be doing these homerooms, but school rules are school rules, sorry for taking up your time, you are free to go."

The students were glad that the homeroom wasn't long and immediately scattered away

Quest Complete!

"Attending Kawakami Martial Arts University!"

Your father contacted the university upfront to welcome your arrival.

Enter the university and attend the classes.

Rewards: 1 random spawn of a house in the Kawakami prefecture and 10,000 yen.

'My father eh? But I guess since this is the new world, it's someone completely different I've never met in my life and I kind of don't even want to meet him.'

As he walked out of the school, he noticed a bulge in his pants.

'Keys?'

A pair of shabby looking rusty keys appeared in his left pocket. In his right pocket however, was the promised ten thousand yen in smaller bills.

'Good, coupled with Ca-- with that dude's meal tickets, I have twenty two of them which is good enough to survive for a few days. Geez that person is giving me too many positive vibes.'

Next up was the roof above his head. He received the keys, but how should he know which house in this area they even belonged to? There was thousands upon thousands of them.

Once again, the GPS system came in clutch. The feature was activated, and navigated him towards the location.

After walking for twenty minutes in a moderate pace, he arrived in front of an average sized house. The exterior was wooden and the same could be probably said about the interior as well, since he looked through the window to check if there was anyone in there planning to ambush him, but there was no one.

He noticed that the place also had a garage which would really help him out in the future if he planned on buying a car or something.

'So that's why there were two keys, the other one was for the garage.'

He put one of the keys into the keyhole of the main entrance door and the moment he stepped inside, he was met with...Nothing? The entire place was empty, no furniture, fancy or exotic pictures and decorations, nothing. He went through the entire house and the only thing he found was a working sink and toilet in the bathroom. There was nothing else in the house.

"Well...it did say I would only get a house...but still..."

He sat on the floor and contemplated about everything he went through today.

'This whole 'thing' that's giving me Quests and Rewards...what even is that? I was supposed to be dead, yet I am here. I wanted to pursue stand up comedy because there was no one strong enough left for me to fight, yet here, there is so many strong and determined individuals, it's making me change my mind again. It's completely reversed.'

He also wanted to find out what the roullette was all about, but he had no way of knowing how to activate it or where it even went.

"Roulette," He said into the empty air, thinking about a way to activate it and to his surprise, a small roulette wheel appeared on the ground next to him.

It was fully red, eight of the spots on it were gray and four of the spots were in four colors respectively, from Blue, Yellow, Red to the last one, Green.

'This is a weird ass looking roulette if you ask me.'
