Chapter 3

I can't think of a good explanation to what this guy meant with bait and why all of a sudden my father, the Emperor wants to meet me after not showing his face even on my first birthday.

But is the main palace really this far away? We are walking for a long time, I'm getting sleepy again. I guess my father didn't want to see my face even by coincidence.

I can't even imagine how my dad looks like. Maybe he looks like the Fourth Prince? Though It could be that this brat took after his mother.

I sure would've been more at peace if Lilian was by my side but I guess if the emperor wants to kill me it would be safer for her to stay in the palace. I can feel that Yura is near me and this somehow calms me for a short while.

What does he mean here is no-

Oh my gosh. This view is breathtaking. I haven't seen any place as beautiful as this in both my life's. That's crazy, it looks like artwork. The palace has a creamy Color which looks absolutely elegant and somehow just perfect. The palace I'm living in seems like a small mansion next to this. I don't get how I didn't see this place from a mile away and only acknowledged it when this so called duke of the east said we're here.

Is it even possible for the people here to built something so- Huh? What was that? It's as if a veil had fallen from my eyes and I saw this palace for the first time again. It doesn't look real now that I look at it. The sides seem to vanish into thin air, doesn't look right at all. I haven't seen anything in this world yet, so maybe I'm just imagining things and this is totally normal. So I should just play along for the time being.

A chuckle next to my ear made me look at the guy holding me. Did he look this handsome the whole time? He looks like the man of my dreams. Light brown hair and green eyes. I know, pretty basic, but I thing that's the catch.

"Did you fall in love with the palace or with me, your Highness?"

This guy is too much. I'm a baby why is he talking about something like this? Weird.

"The look of disgust on your face shows me you really do understand what I'm saying. I thought the master this guy earlier needs to be someone in the some room, but there was only me and you, baby princess. So I thought that there needs to be something different about you cause a dragon can't make a dragon with a baby that can't think yet. So I bet you're different than anyone I met before. And I guess I'm right . I have a feeling we will become the bestest of friends"

You wish. I would love to say but my pronunciation isn't good yet so it would sound more cute than ironic. He smirked cheeky down at me and I want to slap this smirk out of his face.

Woah I just scared myself, why do I have such violent thoughts after meeting him for like 5 minutes.

We reached the doors to enter the main palace and the knights keeping watch greeted the guy by bowing down. They completely ignored me though and I don't know if that's a good sign or not.

We walk down the empty halls of the palace and I can't help but question wether it is normal that no one is here, not even a maid. I know it's in the middle of the night but in such a big palace it should be normal for people to always be busy.

"Stay calm, he just wants to talk with you."

I guess this guy could feel how I fidgeted cause he's holding me. But how can I stay calm if it's possible for me to die in a few minutes. How could he know that he just wants to talk and won't accidentally kill me because I'm a disgrace to him?

My thoughts are running in circles and I don't even realise how the doors in front of us were cast open and we walked in the biggest room I ever was in, previous life inclusive, and at the end of this room stood a man with his back to us. Is this.. my father?

"I brought the princess, your majesty." The man greeted and bowed down.

"Lift your Head, Duke." His voice was different from what I imagined. I thought that his voice would sound cold and demanding but it sounds more friendly and high.

I look up from his feet only to see someone looking completely different from what I imagined. He is handsome, yes, and he looks a bit like the fourth prince. But only his nose and hair colour.

"So this is my daughter. Daphne.

It's the first time I'm meeting you. You are so beautiful."

What does he expect from me now, saying thank you? As this is our first meeting he can't possible believe I understand him.

"I really wanted to meet my only daughter, you know? But first I needed to make sure the murderer of both the empresses was punished severely. It may sound cruel but I used you as bait. That's why you were living in the concubine palace so far away. I always wanted to have a daughter and after the doctor said I had one I wanted to hide you away from this bad world. But I knew that this needed to be done and I couldn't think of another way to catch the guy. I hope you will forget everything that happened and live comfortably with me from now on."

It seems like my father really wants to treat me well now but…

"Yuwa"

He appeared out of thin air and took me in his arms.

'This guy was an imposter!

That's why we walked so far, we weren't going to the main palace but to a different place and that's why it felt so unreal when I saw the palace! You need to get me out of here, Yura.'

"Hold on tight"

"Wait you damned, how did you know -"

I would like to know how I knew this as well but we should get out of here first.

Yurahara teleported us back in my room and didn't waste anytime before he lulled me to sleep, even thought I didn't wanted to i still have the body of a baby. I really need to scold him, because he can't just use magic on me without my consent. Last thing I saw before falling asleep was him vanishing in thin air.
