Entering the room, David immediately looked around him, only to see a dull white room with a wooden table and chair in the middle, where there was a blue transparent orb on the table. To the very edge, there was a door, most likely leading to the next room for the next test he'll go through.
He saw that there was a speaker-like object to the right of him.
"Student David Vale has been registered as a recommended student, please sit and place your hands on the orb so we may record your elemental affinities." the speaker suddenly spoke.
Following its instructions, David sat down on the wooden chair and placed his hands on the table.
Instead of pouring his mana, the orb suddenly began to suck in his mana, shocking him. Most of the novels he's read just say how it either requires a small injection, or it was advanced enough to just read from touch.

'Fair enough for a basically omnipotent system in my perspective.' David chose to show all five of his basic elements, keeping his flux element hidden.
After a few more seconds of sucking in David's mana, the orb had lit up in five different colors of red, yellow, blue, brown, and green, all taking up an equal amount of space in the orb.
The five colors were currently revolving around each other as the orb was constantly sucking in his mana. Only after it sucked around 15% of his mana, did it stop so he could remove his hands.
The orb now had a brilliant glint of all five colors which was now starting to dim as small threads of mana was being absorbed into the speaker, most likely the examiner who was operating that room alone.
"Your results have been recorded, please wait for your mana to recover before entering the next room." The speaker said as the light on the orb dimmed.
'Maybe this counts as a test of how fast we can recover our own mana?... Anything can be a test after all.' David pulled up his status to look at his mana bar quickly filling up.
He looked at the orb which was continuously dimming, though he could feel some mana revolving around it, inputting something.
'Is it inputting my data? Is this like the equivalent of DNA tests?' He asked himself, he never really had anything that needed a DNA test, so he wasn't really familiar with it.
Waiting for around a minute or so, his mana had already recovered. He stood up from the chair and opened the door, only to see that he was outside again, but this time, he got one of the things he expected, a plain field.
The field wasn't too big, nor was it small, probably only around the size of 3 acres (~36 tennis courts). The area was filled with green, and at the ends, there were stone walls the height of 150 meters (~495 feet) and for the weather, it was clear which he could even see the sun in its full glory.
"Quite spacious, a combat test here then?" he muttered to himself, toggling the {Mini-Map} for any surprise enemies.
On his {Mini-Map}, a dot had shown up around his radius, it was green at first before it flickered to red.
Getting on guard, David sensed that his examiner was a human, a rank 4 'expert', though it was on a much weaker level than his parents, most likely an early or mid-rank 4th tier.
David never tried to use {Apprisal} as the person was a whole rank threshold above him, meaning he wouldn't get any important information from it anyway.
The middle-aged man in front of him was wearing what was most likely the examiner's uniform. He wore a priest-like turtleneck wear and a half cloak reaching down to his elbows, long black pants accentuating his long legs, and a black string necklace with a small emblem at the end.
He was currently holding a long wooden staff of low quality, it seems like they had to give them some weaker equipment to make them weaker, but also strong enough to fight those that were called 'true' geniuses. Even then, the aura he was releasing was quite formidable, but it wasn't enough since he did some training involving standing up to pressure from peak tier 4 experts... like his parents.
'A magician!' Since David's stats were slightly edging towards the use of mana, with his race and bloodline, he was much more sensitive about the surrounding mana.
Currently, the mana around him was quite abundant, even then, he could easily tell how much natural mana was being absorbed into the examiner's staff.
"Hello! I will be your examiner for today's exam. Let's get to the chase. The rules would be to last at least 2 minutes, and your class placement will be determined by how long you last, and if you can defeat me, then there will be another test for you."
"Don't worry though, we have weakened equipment, weights, and some restrictions on our spells as well. Other than that, you'll still have to do whatever you can to beat your examiner, killing is fine as well as we are in an array." He explained.
Nodding, David drew a shortsword that was given to him before he left. He is a noble, so he needed some type of weapon deserving of his rank.
The shortsword actually was made to look simple by David's request. David was there for part of the process of it being forged, the materials were extremely pure, like those things you would hear in those martial arts novels like the 10,000 year old ginseng, but natural purified reinforced steel.
Overall, with the look of a regular shortsword, some experts could definitely feel the fact that there was some sort of rare materials put into this sword, like the examiner, who was looking at him in slight surprise.
'Why... does it look so ordinary? Don't noble kids these days like to show off? His affinity results are quite surprising in itself, five elements...' the examiner was confused but didn't openly question it.
"Seems like your ready? Give me the best you've got kid!" he taunted.
Without any warning, David had covered the sword in lightning and dashed towards the examiner.
