The Rise of The Byakuya Gang

Morning

*yawn*

Opening my eyes I began to look at the strange room that I was in. It soon came to me that this was the free hotel room I was offered yesterday. 'I've got to thank those guys for this' I thought while getting up from my bed.

While putting on my white shirt I began to feel dizzy. Looking around I could see objects swerving left and right. Putting my hand on my head to soothe a headache that's been bothering me since I woke up. When I put my shirt over my head, the headache was worsening.

I soon began to close my eyes, blocking the pain pulsating in my head. When I opened them again I could see myself in the bar area sitting on my usual bar stool. Without control, I moved my head to the left and I could see Lester and Escanor fighting over a game of poker. I never saw them so mad about a game but besides the point, they were soon getting physical. From a push to a shove, then a fist to a tackle. Falling on the floor, they began to fight each other. It soon became a childish fight as they began to throw anything they could find at each other. It was until Lester grabbed a tequila bottle and threw it. Missing it from far away from Escanor, I could only watch as the bottle came spinning at me until it hit my head.

When the bottle finally hit my head I could only fall back on my bed as I realized that it was a vision and that it was over.

'What was that' I thought while soothing my head again. 'It must be another vision, maybe it could be true like my fight in Green Banks' I thought, a little optimistic at the chance to test another part of my powers.

Heading to the bar, feeling overconfident, nevermind I was overconfident as hell. Sitting down on my usual bar stool, I began to see everything happen again like clockwork. From the cursing to a push than a punch, and boom, they're on the floor. I began to laugh at the situation, especially where they also began throwing things at each other. Getting ready as Lester threw a tequila bottle at me I quickly ducked and the bottle flew above my head and there was a big splash of alcohol and glass hitting my back.

Finally noticing my presence they both got up and began to apologize to me about the near-miss with the bottle. I brushed it off and told them it was okay and asked what happened before the fight.

"Oh we tried to double-team John and Yoko, but we lost because Escanor couldn't win the game" Lester answered.

"Ok, then but I have to go and head to where my teammates are meeting, so see ya" I yelled out as I exited the building.

After a few minutes of walking, I could find myself in the center of Konoha. Looking to my left I could see my team waiting for me along with other teams that I knew.

"Hey what are you guys doing here" I called out as I ran toward the group.

"Finally you arrive Boruto, and to answer your question we're just hanging out" Mitsuki answered with that weird smile of his.

"Alright then" I mumbled as I stood next to Sarada, we weren't talking but I was bored and hoped something would happen.

"We interrupt with breaking news. A new gang has recently gotten popular over the last few days. This gang called themselves 'noble thieves' as they steal from rich companies and give the loot to the needy people in need'

Gaining everyone's attention, we all looked at the huge TV screens to learn more about these thieves.

'The group of thieves calls themselves the 'Byakuya Gang'. What's more important is that they are gaining support from the people of Konoha, as they believe their cause is indeed noble. They even started a petition for pardoning the gang for their crimes.'

We could all look on with confusion as we began to wonder who the Byakuya Gang are.

"Well, looks like we'll be busy trying to catch these guys then" I exclaimed.

"It's a drag but we have no choice to try to find the gang then" Shikadai groaned.

He stood up and stretched his arms as he told us he's got to meet someone for a game of shogi so he had left.

"Well, I guess we try and find the Byakuya Gang then," I said as I also took my leave.

"Hey, Boruto wait up" turning around I could see Sarada and Mitsuki running to catch up to me.

Waiting for them to catch up to me, I began to wonder about who the Byakuya Gang were. They call themselves noble thieves, ha there's no such thing as noble thieves. This is why we should find the Byakuya Gang and bring them to justice.

Finally catching up Sarada said "Boruto before we find the Byakuya Gang, the news reporter stated that all genin who encounter the Byakuya Gang should not engage without the authority of a chunin or higher"

"What that's bullshit, they're a threat and if they've been avoiding capture for a long time then the village is going to need all shinobi ready" I shouted back in frustration.

*sigh* "I guess it can't be helped then," I said before urging my teammates to follow as we got a day full of missions ahead of us.

Time skip

Shikadai's POV

"What a drag," Shikadai said as he patiently set his shogi pieces in preparation for the meet up with a friend. But the so-called friend was running late so Shikadai had nothing to do than to wait by laying down on the park bench.

"Oh, Shikadai what are you doing here"

Looking up he could smirk as his mother was standing on top of a hill. 'Looks like she has a mission then' Shikadai thought before jumping up to meet his mom.

"Nothing just waiting for a friend" Shikadai responded.

"You seem busy, do you have a mission," Shikadai asked.

"Yeah, there's a dance that the Sunagakure officials are attending so I have to be security. Plus be on the lookout with the Byakuya Gang" she responded with boredom.

"Oh so you've heard about them," Shikadai asked.

"Yeah, and they're assembling all Chunin and Jonin to go and capture them. Also, dinner is ready, you just have to warm it up" she said.

"I know, make sure you get going with your mission" Shikadai claimed before going down to his shinobi board.

When Temari left, Shikadai looked back only to find a kid with red hair sitting next to the shogi board.

Sitting down he claimed, "What took you so long".

"Sorry, I was busy," he said.

"*sigh* Let's play then," Shikadai said as he moved his pieces.

Playing each move, to counter, to advance, or to defend. They would go at it for hours on end. Sometimes Shikadai would lose, no he would lose most games. It was until the sun went down that they couldn't see the shogi pieces. Seeing the sun went down Shikadai began to put the pieces away.

"Man your good huh," Shikadai said.

"Yeah I guess I am" he responded.

"Oh, before I forget what was your name again," Shikadai said.

"Oh, my name is Ryogi"

"Ok Ryogi, good game, I just want to know why do you sacrifice the pawns," Shikadai asked.

"Well, the commanders have all the power and they would usually force people to do something with no choice, just like in real life" Ryogi answered.

"That's not a nice thing to do, a pawn can always grow to a king," Shikadai said.

Proving his point he took out a pawn. He then flipped it and the kanji for 'King' showed in red.

"You see, everyone has a choice. Like me and you" Shikadai said.

"Hm, I see, well I better get going," Ryogi said.

"See ya," Shikadai said before walking away.

Looking ahead Ryogi began to think about the shogi piece Shikadai showed. 'Can I make my choice' Ryogi thought? Walking away Ryogi disappeared by teleporting by a snowstorm.

Jewelry Store

Midnight, a time for rest or nightly activities. Which was perfect for the Byakuya Gang to strike. In the back room of the store were three people clad in robes and owl masks. Three soon became four as Ryogi arrived.

"Your late" one said.

"I was busy with some genin" Ryogi countered.

"Did you engage?" the first one asked again.

"No, but I would advise staying away from the park area," Ryogi said.

"Thanks for the information, now let's get out of here," the first one said again.

Running outside the Byakuya Gang began to look around to see if anyone was looking but they didn't see the two kunoichi spying on them which happened to be Wasabi and Sumire

"There they are, damn where is Namida" Wasabi said.

"Get down," Sumire said

Seconds later the cover they were hiding behind was soon destroyed. After getting up they soon found themselves surrounded by the four Byakuya Gang members.

"I guess we have to hold them off here," Sumire said getting her kunai out.

After a moment the gang members soon jumped away from the two shinobi as a powerful gust of wind landed in the middle of the standoff.

"Wind Style: Gale Raging Wall," someone said.

Then a woman landed between the two shinobi and the Byakuya Gang.

"Temari" Wasabi shouted.

"You three get behind me" Temari ordered.

Looking back to find the third person behind Temari but was soon distracted as Namida landed next to Sumire.

"So I was late but at least we got some support," Namida said.

"Nah, you just on time," Wasabi said fist-bumping Namida.

While the three shinobi were conversing, Temari then charged at the gang members. One of them jumped up and shouted "Ice Style: Mangehyo" breathing out ice shards. Dodging them Temari hid behind a corner of a building. Once the ice shards passed her Temari, emerged from cover and began to chase the gang members. Coming to an intersection, three gang members went to the left street while one went to the right street.

Temari began chasing the single-member began to jump on the roofs to quickly gain upon the member. After a few moments, Temari managed to lose sight of the gang member.

'What where did he go' Temari thought.

Looking around she could find herself at the park where her son Shikadai was waiting for a friend of his. 'Huh, I guess I should report this then' Temari thought when she left for the Hokage building to write a report about the Byakuya Gang incident.

Again, midnight sure is a time for rest or activities.

Ryogi POV

Making sure the coast is clear, Ryogi emerged from his hiding spot, which was just a plain bush he was hiding in. After stretching his legs, he began to head to the hideout of the Byakuya Gang. Entering the hideout, Ryogi could see the three members that were robbing the store waiting for him.

Getting up one of the members stated "Good job, with your information we were able to get away.

"Thank you, I will do anything for the Byakuya Gang, for the sake of justice," Ryogi said.

"You're right about that, now were you followed," the member said.

"No, I wasn't followed" Ryogi stated.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that," said a voice.

Now alert the members of the Byakuya Gang rose in attacking position, getting ready to see who managed to find them.

In the dark entrance of the camp emerged a pink slipper then another one. Then a bone of a leg emerged along with black shorts with white stripes. A few more steps a white shirt with blue jackets emerged with the ends of the jacket showing skeleton hands. After a few more steps came the head of the figure. And to say that they were confused and freaked out was an understatement.

Boruto POV

'So this is Shikadai's friend, doesn't seem much' I thought while heading towards Ryogi.

"What is this, who are you and how did you find us" stated one member as he was backing away from me.

"Just a friendly skeleton passing by, doing his thing you know. Just following friends of friends type of thing" I stated nonchalantly.

One of the members looked at Ryogi while Ryogi's eye's widened as I guess he never noticed he was being followed.

"Damn it Ryogi, you said you weren't followed" the member in front of the group said.

"But I wasn't followed, I swear I never sensed him" Ryogi pleaded fearing his punishment.

Having enough of this I grabbed one member's soul and flung him to a nearby wall. Upon landing, I could see blood dripping from his head. It wasn't a lot so he'll be fine 'Must've been from the impact'. Looking back at Ryogi I began to walk forward until another member charged at me from the side. Jumping back a little I summoned a bone and threw it at him. He dodged it with ease but he had to jump back giving me more space.

'Well then, I've been waiting to try this new move for a while' I thought with excitement.

Quickly summoning more bones, I quickly arranged them to look like a vertical maze that one would have to jump and float to avoid getting hit by them. But sadly no person could float to dodge which made this move an "easy win move".

The member seeing the sheer number of the bones quickly stood up and tried to run away only to be stopped by a wall. He looked around to find the exit of the base but was too late as the bones began pounding into him. When to bones all disappeared all that was left was the member being stuck in the wall, unconscious.

With that out of the way, I looked at Ryogi and rushed at him. He didn't have a chance to react as I was holding him by his robe, hanging his feet off the air. I was about to knock him out until my Jougan activated all of a sudden as I began to see a vision.

But it wasn't a vision of the future, or a vision of my past, no. It was Ryogi's memories.

'What's going on now' I thought as I tried to end the vision anyway I can but was no use.

Then Ryogi's memories began flashing, showing me every happy, sad to dull memory until it stopped into one memory.

It appeared that he lived in a tent with his parents and that his dad helps people in the nearby village. But when he came back he was killed along with his mom by a dark-toned man with spikey blond hair. But when Ryogi woke up from fainting on his parent's corpse. The spikey blonde-haired man claimed that he killed the one that killed his parents. And Ryogi seemed to believe it and since then he was raised by him. To assist him in the upcoming years of theft and robbery.

Then everything went back to normal as I was again holding Ryogi in the air. I dropped him trying to take in what happened just now. But when Ryogi hit the ground the last member charged at me using and ice style jutsu. I jumped back from the attack and was about to engage in stopping him but was too late.

The last member picked up Ryogi and began to run. He then turned around and looked at me with his owl mask.

"This isn't the last of us whatever you are. We have more people than you think. This will not be the end of us" he stated before disappearing through a cloud of snow.

'Damn' I thought when I tried to sense the member who took Ryogi.

"Well, there's nothing we can do now" I stated as I walked out of the base but not before setting the base on fire. After setting the fire and tying up the two unconscious members, I waited for the leaf shinobi to arrive.

Once they did arrive, I teleported back to Grillby's to avoid getting spotted by the shinobi. Sitting down on my usual stool I began to think about what should I do for Ryogi.
