Three birds, One stone

As Oz returned to Hogwarts he heaved a sigh at the events that had just occurred. Being approached by Lucius and Fudge was a welcome surprise for sure buy the most welcome surprise was Rita clinging onto Fudge at the time as well. This was probably the luckiest Oz has ever been and thankfully for him he had gone through his Animagus ritual before hand allowing him to spot Rita.

'With these eyes... I can spot magical flow easier and identify magical signatures. A normal Dung Beetle wouldn't have a magical signature... Piecing together an Animagus dung beetle who was hanging around important people in the ministry... it was obvious who it was'.

Oz grinned again at the turn of events that had occurred. If all goes well and it goes exactly to what he can predict, this turn of events will lead to Lucius being completely outed and Dumbledore having rumours spread about him. Oz purposely turned the conversation with Lucius towards making it seem like he was insulting the Goblins as well, noting that Lucius deems dealings with them as 'lowly'. This in turn would fire up the Goblins and their pride making them more than likely to come out with a statement saying that Lucius did indeed pay them off.

However, if the goblins did that they would also be exposing that they sold Oz's identity. So in essence with this one trip to the ministry Oz had managed to kill three birds with one stone.

'So Lucius will be outed, The Goblins exposed for their misdeeds and in addition Dumbledore will have rumours spread about him and the validity of my discipleship under him...'.

Oz was sincerely looking forward to the start of the new year term.

.

As the next year term started Oz planned out what he needed to do for the term ahead. His main goal was to corner the old snake in the fireplace study when he eventually went back down there. Luckily for Oz, his marauders map would track the snake so all he had to do was wait until he arrived back at that room. Worse case scenario he never returns, however Oz can just then seek out the other portraits he goes to personally.

As for his studies Oz had already memorized the entire Hogwarts syllabus with his Perfect Memory so all that was left was comprehension in some areas. As for spells there was always more to learn and play with. In addition to this, after learning with Dumbledore the past month he had already managed to grasp wandless spells up to OWL level, quite the jump up from his previous third year limit. As for Occulumency, his own personal defenses were shaping up very nicely, the ring acted as the first most powerful wall while his own personal defenses were a secondary wall to his emotions and memories.

He had now also gotten fully used to his eyes that were a lot more sensitive to magic. The only thing left for this year was to get his potion making skills up to a peak level so that in the future he can produce potions whenever needed.

With this sort of progress, Oz foresaw that he wouldn't stick around in Hogwarts for all the years he's due to. Maybe he'd only stick around next year due to the events that are set to occur, besides that he plans to split off and work towards Merlin's legacy and the ritual. His goal for the ritual was to have it completed before his fifth year.

With all these plans in motion and ideas locked in, Oz welcomed the new years term with open arms as he set off to accomplish as much as possible.

.

Currently Oz was sat in the library with a large group of people. The group consisted of Craig, Cho, Harry, Daphne and Hermione, all of which were talking, reading books and studying.

"Seriously Ozzy I cant get over your eyes! They're give off this wicked and mystical feeling now..."

Craig's response to Oz's eyes was a novel one. Although the boy was a breath of fresh air and the king of socialness just like any Gryffindor he had a hint of foolishness to him at times. He only saw the change in Oz's eye colour whereas some of the others present at the table felt a slight change in his aura as well.

Most notably both Hermione and Cho were looking at Oz's eyes with extreme wonder and curiosity. As the two bookworms of the group it was a given that they'd be the most fascinated. As for Harry and Daphne, they had long since grown used to this new Oz as they would always see him in the common room.

"I told you already I honestly have no clue how this happened... However, its not something thats damaged me! as a matter of fact I feel better than ever! Now lets get back to studying else youll flunk these tests too...".

Craig flinched at Oz's quip as he and the rest of the group started to go back to reading and studying. While looking around the library. Oz noticed that the library had a new copy of the Daily Prophet just sent in. The front page was something that drew Oz in instantly.

[DEALINGS WITH GOBLINS AND FORCED DISCIPLESHIP?! THE DESCENDANT OF MERLIN'S PLIGHT]

Seeing this title Oz snatched a copy and began reading it on the table while everyone was absorbed into their work. As Oz read the newspaper, he marvelled at Rita Skeeters ability to completely spin a story.

'She's really played up that one conversation completely...'.

There were two articles worthy of mention in this Daily Prophet release. One was the exposure of Lucius dealings with the goblins using dark artefacts as payment. Rita actually managed to get an interview with the goblins of Gringotts who confirmed these dealings.

'She must have been jumping for joy when they actually validated it...'.

From what Oz could tell she probably goaded them into spilling the beans by explaining that Lucius deemed dealings with them as 'Lowly'. Having their pride smacked in front of them they instantly revealed that Lucius had indeed done deals with them, and from the article present it wasn't just Oz's identity they had dealt in.

As a matter of fact the Goblins in their furore exposed all the dealings the Malfoy family had with them that was deemed dark and underhanded. With this information exposed it was a clear fact that the Malfoy's would now be under a lot of pressure from both the Goblins and the ministry in the future.

Oz seeing this grinned as he read the next article that was about Dumbledore. Rita had personally wrote this one to seem more like speculation however with proof of the ministry handing Dumbledore a tome that once belonged to Merlin along with using her way with words, she managed to spin a sinister story that painted Dumbledore as a man who forced Oz to disciple under him so he could gain more titles in the future.

Looking at both articles Oz was sincerely impressed and pleased. The woman had done exactly what he needed her to do. Both Lucius and the Goblins were now under his foot and Dumbledore was going to be next. The second Oz has learnt everything under him all he needs to do is confirm these 'rumours' and instantly Dumbledore's credibility will be up for questioning. If Oz found more damning evidence on Dumbledore in that time as well then maybe he could get the man completely prosecuted.

Oz stored away the Daily Prophet paper in his pouch as he looked up at the table. All that was left this year was the snake and Quirrell.
