Thanks to Kirk, I was free of Sam's side of the island and had no plans on revisiting that part of it anytime soon. However, I believed that Sam will hit me harder then he has ever done. In fact, I can't help but feel or better know that this is all due to me letting him in. Now, Kirk is in jeopardy because just as he stated yesterday he knows Sam is going to tell Charley and Alexander about the attack. You know, I find it funny actually. Sam assaulted me, Dakota, and Percy without a second thought then found fun in said action. Then, when the tables turn and he gets done in with one blow he cries! Just how pathetic can one person be?
"My parents naturally hated me. It wasn't because I was gay more like because I simply just never reached their standards of being the perfect son." Percy told us shrugging his shoulders. "They could rot in hell for all I care. Your turn Dakota."
At this moment, in Kyzarian's cell Percy, Dakota, and I all sat in a circle on the bed sharing the last few memories we had of our parents and how they reacted when we told them about our sexuality or finding out about it. "I never told them about me liking boys. They found out after seeing me stare at shirtless boys for an unnaturally long time. My parents never seemed bothered by it. Since I was bringing in money for them to keep the house and provide food it wasn't a top priority. Pretty sure that it was a bonus for them actually."
"A bonus?" I questioned.
Dakota nodded his head, "I brought in money by blowing grown men who were cheating on their wives. At first, my parents would actually defend me until those same men begun offering money. Huge loads of money at that. So much that they just couldn't resist it and allowed it."
Compared to their stories, mine was literal child's play. Percy's parents cared more about a top notch son who follows every rule. Dakota's had exploited his sexuality to get money for them. Every parent had unique ways of dealing with the situation but still the end results were two outcomes. One was acceptance whether fully or halfway and the other was utter disapproval that led to disowning.
"Dakota and Percy.... I-I'm speechless." It was even more bothersome that they seemed so nonchalant about it. A knock on the door made the three of us turn around. Squeezing in the doorway was none other then Jacan. Making his way over to the circle. "The persuasive speech is off to pretty decent start." He stopped a few feet from us, "I started with people who seemed much smarter then average and could hold on to a secret. Kyzarian being there also helped a bit."
"Good to hear Jacan. Percy and Dakota, you guys should start heading out. Kirk should be here shortly also." Just like we gone over yesterday the plan was to infiltrate the warden's office to learn his device's code or at least the right pattern to unlock it. I was certain that these wardens weren't "gods" like originally thought. The process of getting over here just didn't add up at all. Correct me if I'm wrong but a God wouldn't need so much effort into retrieving us he'd know right from the get go.
Shortly after, Kirk walked in to room hands in pocket stopping next to Jacan's enormous figure. "Ready?" He asked me.
I nodded my head standing up and dusting off any particles off my backside. "We'll be back later tonight guys for more updates. Best of luck to you all."
Kirk and I made it to the hole that lead to the warden's office. We came much earlier then needed simply because we couldn't afford to miss a single second of the device. He wasn't present at the moment.
Someone please help me!
Gavin's screams of despair played in the back of my mind. Time and time again especially considering this is where it all happened long ago. "Hey, you alright?" I heard Kirk ask from behind me. I felt alright but he probably saw a glance of fear when I heard Gavin's voice.
"Yea," I sat down in front of him pulling out a list that I wrote earlier this morning. "This ring a bell by any chance?"
Taking the paper from my hand Kirk begun examining the sheet. It was the numbers Percy gave me during my first visit. 3210, 587, 216, 121. Since we're going to be here for a while might as well get some answers from a person I know has no ill will right?
It seemed that these numbers do has some significance because he was staring at it for quite a while. "No clue to be honest. Percy said it has something to do with us? Body count probably? Nah, I never slept with that many people... wait have I? Jesus I'm getting old."
THESE ARE ALL OVER ONE HUNDRED KIRK!
"No, definitely can't be body count. High numbers like this have some importance. Just can't think what it is. Maybe... it's some type of riddle? A dumb riddle at that. A puzzle? Coordinates? Really having trouble seeing what these actually are or their relevance." He handed the paper back to me. Was really hoping he'd have an answer for these. Doesn't look like even he has anything to do with this. "Forget it. What about this?" I asked again pulling out a book. "I found this in Sam's belongings while looking for ways to get out."
In Sam's room I found out a quite interesting piece of information about him. Quite a book of information in fact. That's right, Sam's personal journal was in my hands as we spoke.
"No way..." Kirk cackled, "I'm gonna make his life a living hell. Open it..."
The two of us grew sinister smiles on our faces looking down at the book that hasn't been touched in so long that there was dust on my fingerprints. I would be surprised if Sam even bothered writing anything in it at all. My curiosity was getting the best of both of me! I really wanna know some history about this place.
Alexander The III, Charley Smithens, Sam Whitehorse, Kirk Lakeland, and Jacan Henry.
Wait, why was he writing in third person? More importantly, Jacan was also here as well? That would give me an estimate of just how old the other four are...
The five of them were in the middle of the colosseum... against him. They had just finished a grueling battle with one another and now... for whatever reason the five put their differences aside to defeat a greater evil.
"YOU INSOLENT HUMANS THINK YOU STAND THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE AGAINST ME?" That voice, that deep voice which shook the entire colosseum. "I GAVE HOPE! A PURPOSE WHEN YOUR HOME WORLD TURNED YOU AWAY!"
The five of them stood in one place none of them uttering a word. Then, Sam put up each of his arms beginning to curl his fingers. It was time, time to give it everything they got. Energy from four of them coursed through his body, veins flowing with deep red. "Take it easy guys... I'll handle him." Sam told his comrades who were now retreating from the fight.
"Huh?" Don't tell me this is what I think this is....
Now, it was the warden and Sam standing in the middle of the colosseum. "I'm... I'm not going to let you kill my friends or anyone else here!"
The warden stood tall looking down at Sam as if he were an insect. "You can't honestly believe you have a quiver of a chance against me young Sam." The tall man in the black suit boasted.
Sam ignored him beginning to leap in place. Then, he darted straight towards the warden at a speed that easily surpassed sound itself. Hyptant intercepted Sam by shrinking from his original size then as the boy passed over his head he struck in center mass sending him flying skyward. "Too slow Sam!" Hyptant then leaped high into the air going above Sam then elbowing him in the spine forcing him back down to the sandy pit causing a mass of sand to be sent in all directions.
Hyptant was already back on the ground sprinting at unnaturally fast speeds towards Sam who was struggling to get up. Just as he was inches away from Sam's head, Jacan hit Hyptant with a thunderous shoulder tackle. The momentum behind it made the warden fly into the concrete wall imprinting his figure into it. He was only slightly deterred by this action before running back. "NEXT IS JACAN?! LETS SEE WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER YOUNG JACAN!"
Jacan, someone who towered the warden in his shrunken form also began running towards him. When the distance closed between one another Jacan reeled back his enormous fist sending it directly at Hyptant's face who dodged it. "Interesting young Jacan." Hyptant retaliated with a knee to Jacan's gut who was not effected by it.
His body, whatever it was made of not even the warden himself could bypass it...
Grabbing the collar of his formal suit Jacan lifted Hyptant up with no effort preparing to slam him only to be stopped by the bottom of Hypant's dress shoe connecting with Jacan's face making him lose his original grip. Again, he leaped into the air performing a spinning kick to the temple. Once more, Jacan was not effected by the blow thanks to his extremely durable body.
While his body was impossible to bypass Jacan had an unfortunate weakness. He couldn't outlast anyone here and everyone including Hyptant knew that. Immeasurable strength and durability came with only a five minute time limit for the near eight foot tall boy. Once that five minutes exceeded he will have been completely gassed out and most likely will pass out from the stress on his body.
Thanks to his comrade's distraction, Sam had finally recovered from Hypant's devastating spinal strike. Slowly but surely he had regained his posture once more turning towards the warden who was avoiding Jacan's unrelenting punches that could easily shake the entire foundation. Sam had darted straight back into the fight to help his buddy in combat.
Kirk had ran along side Sam blood flowing down his arms. Both running at incredible speeds with sand being kicked into the air from their powerful footsteps. "AN COMBINED ATTACK? DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT YOU WILL WORK AGAINST ME?!"
That son of bitch was cocky but he had a reason to be. Each one of these five before have faced him individually now and plenty times before and they have never stood a slight chance against him. What was the chance now if they attacked him simultaneously?
Sam skid across the sand to a halt in front of Hyptant. Leaping into the air and performing a spinning kick while Kirk lowered himself doing a spinning leg sweep. "PREDICTABLE!" Hyptant dodged both attempts with seemingly ease. In return, he uppercuts both of them sending them flying back.
Jacan puts his hands catching both each in one hand holding them like small children.
They can't even hit him!
Charley from behind leaped into the air, Alexander following suit the two had a similar idea. Leading with their lead foot downward I had already seen where this was going. Setting both Kirk and Sam down, Jacan charged forward keeping Hyptant distracted.
However, even from my position I could see that Hyptant was smiling. He knows what's going on. "STOP!" He yelled out.
As soon as he said that, all three stopped in their tracks. Sam and Kirk had also gotten up from the sand quickly jogging over to Hyptant. "Gather around my children." He said. All five did as told.
"Far better then previous times. Much much better. Sam and Kirk, provides the distractions, Jacan is the tank, and Charley and Alexander go in for the kill. I will admit, you five actually had me there." Hyptant said, "you all need to keep training. The hierarchy system must remain strong. Keep training and we'll practice next week."
With that, Hyptant had left the colosseum. "You hear that? We pleased him!" Charley said leaping onto Alexander who caught him.
"Of course we did!" Alexander said kissing Charley on the lips.
Jacan, Sam, and Kirk smiled at one another turning in a unison and walking towards the exit. "Those two are always at it." Jacan commented.
"True lovers." Sam commented and Kirk nodded with a smile.
Closing the book, I looked over at Kirk who stood up, stuffed his hands in his pockets, and turned towards the wall. "Fucking weirdo." He commented.
"You guys all didn't hate one another at some point time? And you guys also sparred with him..."
Kirk turned his back to me a slight smile appeared on his face. "I wasn't sparring with him. Only reason why I stopped was because I knew there was no way to beat him on my own. Come on, you seriously think that I'd ever associate myself with not only the same man or thing who's kept me for years and years possibly near two centuries? But who also wants to eat me? SERIOUSLY?!" Kirk had let out a twisted laugh. "Your hilarious."
Thanks?
"Question." I asked him, "so was also your friendship with them a facade?" His face went soft almost instantly. When a few seconds passed he shook his head indicating it wasn't. "What happened Kirk?"
Just like the last few times me and him had encounters Kirk's nose began to bleed. I come to the conclusion that whenever he bleeds, he's feeling a certain emotion that his body openly expresses. Whether he was sad, angry, or blushing the same thing happened. Now, I'm assuming he's not going to tell me the real answer like I should expect from him.
Wiping away the blood with his hand Kirk continued staring at me with that soft expression. "Don't remember to be honest. It's been a long time actually. I'm not lying either when I tell you this. I can say this though all five of us came from different timeline. I'm pretty sure you figured that out. You most likely also figured out that due to those circumstances... not everyone had the same beliefs." Yes, I figured as much and not really surprised.
"But just like any human being with enough given time and being around different people facing the same enemy you learn to bypass all of that. We all learned that we weren't so bad."
The two of us had been for what had to be hours now. Kirk had fallen asleep with his back against the dirt wall in the fetal position. He had looked so cute sleeping. Prior to this I told Kirk a lot more about myself that he found interesting. I've also been telling him what to expect when we eventually get out of here. There's no amount preparation I can give him for when he actually witnesses it for himself.
Slam!
The sound of a door slamming instantly startled me along with waking Kirk up.
"WHERE ARE THOSE LITTLE MEAT BAGS?!" There it was, that thunderous deep voice... that very voice resembled that of a male lion's roar. Every time he spoke the power behind it shook me to the very core. "AS THE TIME GETS CLOSER I NEED TO HAVE THEM PREPARED OTHER THOSE SELFISH BASTARDS WILL TRY TO HORDE THEM FOR THEMSELVES!"
Fuck... it's just such an unsettling feeling when someone literally talks about eating you.
"I am hungry... so so hungry. As the days approach closer I get more and more hungry. My temptation grows. Surely, I can afford to eat one more... just until the time comes. There has been one that particularly caught my interest."
Kirk and I went towards the tiny peephole. Hyptant was in his tallest form as I found out in Sam's book that he had multiple heights. In front of him was a giant electronic screens with multiple faces on it.
"Ah, that's right. Master did want all the important data from my original five like the rest."
Alexander The III, born June 14th, 1775 the birth of the American Army. Current age of this specimen is 245 years old, the very first human to be put on this space island at the age of 18. Height is six feet tall and weight is 160 pounds. IQ according to human standards are 145 one of the smartest currently inhabited. Subject one was confirmed interested in male genitalia during the war of Great Britain and France. When he became infatuated with a French young soldier during a battle to the death on a great bridge.
Charley Smithens, August 18th, 1794. Current age of this specimen is 226 years old, the second human to inhabit this space island at the age of 17. Height is five feet six inches tall and weight is 120 pounds. IQ according to human standards are 115 above average but not much more unique then most of the current population. Subject two confirmed his interest in homosexuality at a crucial point. During an attack the subject had already known about on his family to retrieve their great riches. The significant other of the subject was shot and killed.
Sam Whitehorse, July 4th, 1817. Current age of this specimen is 203 years old, the third human to inhabit this space island at age 17 years old. Height is five feet seven inches tall and weight is 131 pounds. IQ according to human standards are 110 again above average but not much of uniqueness. Subject three learned about his sexuality from a forced on assault of punishment. The subject had falsified a claim and with retaliation his parents gave him the one thing he loved most.
Kirk Lakeland, October 8th, 1842. Current age of this specimen is 178 years old, the fourth human to inhabit this space island at the age of 16 years old. Height is five feet eight inches tall and weight is 128 pounds. IQ according to human standards are 175 the highest of any known individual here. Subject four was a special type of human known as the slave human. Born on to a large plantation held by other humans higher in hierarchy this subject found himself with his very own personal young owner. The two grew up with one another as Master and Slave.
Jacan Henry, February 14th, 1893. Current age of this specimen is 127 years old, the fifth human to come over to this space island. Height is seven feet seven inches tall and weight is 510 pounds. IQ according to human standards are 115 an above average intelligence. This very large subject number five was originally in a circus to be spectated by others humans due to his abnormal human size of nearly eight feet tall. Unlike the others who had physical contact with other homosapiens. This subject on a dark night confirmed his sexuality by telling a female human of similar size.
"It felt like yesterday when it was just me waiting. Then, Alexander was my very first prisoner. Charley shortly after, Sam, Kirk, and finally Jacan my children. How I love them so much but... my people must also eat including myself."
My God.
Hyptant then scrolled down the list of prisoners by their age I'm assuming. Eventually, he stopped at one expanding his picture to full screen.
"Shit." Kirk whispered.
Frederick Gagne, July 28th, 1928. Current age of this specimen is 91 years old. The twenty-six to be transferred over to the island. Height is six feet four inches tall and weight is 160 pounds. IQ according to human standards is 130 which is considered a gifted individual. However, due to the language barrier he has a difficult time understanding concepts.
Frederick the foreigner that spoke no English.
"Frederick Gagne will suffice just until the day comes. It won't be long...."
Hyptant stood from his chair closing the highly advanced screen walking towards the spot we wanted him in. It was time and despite hearing what we just heard that could not deter us from the mission. We needed this information the faster we get it the faster we can stop Frederick from being killed. I refuse to let that happen.
Kneeling down Hyptant looked forward, a device appeared from the ceiling descending towards him. Quickly, he grabbed it and set it down in the middle of the room. We were right it was a device all along! Now, just show us the password.....
Sure enough the device expanded revealing some type of foreign letters. No matter, the format is similar to that of a keypad on a phone. I just have to remember the order he's using with traditional methods.
37065815901....
Got it! Now, we just need to get out of here and save Frederick before it's too late. As much as I wanted to learn more information there were more important matters to intend too. But at least we got what we needed. However, what thing was bugging me throughout this process.
Kirk was a slave once upon a time....
Remember this, life may get hard but even in the worse times you need to find a way to laugh. As laughing extends your overall life.
