Years have passed for our child, Brandon, and quite a few years it had been. Dealing with his condition, his mother's constant yelling, his father's love, and his Rottweiler, Bronx. The year was 1997; They had moved to Arizona, where they had lived for military reasons. Brandon had been living at his new residence that is considered home for a few years, at least until it...happened.
They lived on Kawasaki Circle, which was a quiet neighborhood, the only thing you would hear would be the occasional argument between the children. Arguments about who has the cooler bike or who had the better candy. Unfortunately for Brandon, he couldn't really enjoy candy. Our child Brandon had never really meshed well with the other kids. Mainly due to the fact that Brandon was always the kid that people would avoid, not that there was anything wrong with the kid, but he ended up a loner. No friends, nobody to enjoy company with. It was as if he had the most contagious disease in the world.
Although, when Brandon and his family had moved into Arizona, to Kawasaki Circle. He had indeed made a friend, Mom had went to the neighbor right across the street and basically dragged Brandon over with her house. The lady's name was Martha. She had a son named Roger, typical military family. When they had went inside, and Brandon met Roger. It seemed that Brandon and Roger had hit it off very well, like peanut butter and jelly.
Brandon was happy, he had a friend, someone to enjoy his company, ride bikes with, sharing his video games with, to go to the playground with...Ah, that playground... I still remember it. There were actually two playgrounds over in Kawasaki Circle. There was one behind Brandon's house, then there was the other....the mystical playground. It was mystical to the boys for the fact that the pathway to the playground was truly a trail in the that led to the playground. The trail consisted of roughly a five minute walk, but the trees had the arch shape cut from the trees. Then when you would finally get to the end, the entire area opened up with so much light it looked like heaven to these boys.
There was an old man that had built the trail and the playground, his name was Haggerty. He must have been military as well, because that all they knew him as. They had met him on their first "adventure" as they called it.
The two boys or " the twin duo" as the neighbors called the boys, were walking through the trail. Eventually they had arrived and entered this majestic playground. Where they had then met Haggerty.
"Well, hello boys", Haggerty spoken, starting off the conversation.
"Hi!", The boys responded
"How are you two doin' this fine day?"
"We heard about the Mystical Playground and we were wanting to come play." Roger explained.
"Oh, did ya now? Yes I had built this for the kids in the neighborhood, but you two are the first to ever come here"
"Really?", Brandon kinda blurted with a grin ear to ear.
"Yes, haha, but what'cha think though?" the old man had laughed.
The both replied almost simultaneously, "It's amaaazing!"
"Well boys, feel free to enjoy it, I'm just gonna be plantin' these flowers", and with that, the old man got back to it
The two looked at each other and ran to the slide, swinging on the swings and teetered on the totter. It was most certainly one the best days of their lives. They had went to the playground after school everyday, and when the weekend hit they were there every minute until the sun went down...
