I woke up in a hospital bed, there were Christmas decorations all around as my vision was clearing up. My thoughts were telling me "Am I in heaven? If so then this sucks so far.."
The I.V. needle in my arm told me that I wasn't dead. I couldn't help it, I just could not shake the nightmare. The one that I had from last night, at least it had seemed like a nightmare anyway. Then I heard somebody talking at the door.
"Captain, I still do not quite understand, how on earth did this boy survive that horrid bastard when his...friend didn't??"
"I do not understand it much myself either, we Have been searching for this guy for so long. But see, here's the thing the kid was perfectly okay. You should have been there when I arrived to the scene. It was a huge mess, I had guys on the force for years, and they couldn't stomach it." The Captain then looked through for a second took at me, then he looked back at the officer then resumed telling his subordinate about what he had seen at the scene.
"His friend was disemboweled, his guts were laying all over the ground, Thomas Walker, the man responsible for over thirty deaths of men, women, and now a child, a GODDAMNED child. The weird thing was this guy was at least six foot seven and weighed damn near three hundred pounds. To me, it really doesn't make and damn sense as to how that god forsaken machete of his was impaled through his chest."
"What the hell?? How does a eight year old kid bring down a man like that? My head hurts thinking about this." The deputy was truly astonished. He couldn't even begin explaining it, just like everyone else as well.
"At this point, just don't worry about it. Filll the paperwork out, and close this case, justice has been served. I can't be any happier that the bastard finally has a tag on his toe."
After that being said, they walked away. Brandon couldn't believe it really had happened, he truly lost his friend, it wasn't a nightmare after all. Brandon had put his face into his pillow and could not help, but start crying he had a best friend, it then seems like that his life was just taken away from him. Suddenly the door swung open and his mother came rushing in. She was angry, so angry you could feel the anger emanating from her person. She walks up to him and smacks him right in his face.
"What the hell were you thinking child!"
Again, it was one of those moments where Brandon did not dare respond to her. "You had best answer me! Why did you lie to me?! Why did you go off outside telling me you were going to play at his house! Answer me, you little shit!" She smacks him again, not even giving him a chance to respond. Brandon was sobbing intensely, he began experiencing severe flashbacks to that terrible night. His eyes and body began spasming relentlessly.
Inside his mind, I began speaking to him;
"Little One, all shall be fine. I shall take your place"
My abyssal voice began speaking to his mother, the shocked look on her face was exquisitely priceless.
"Now you listen to me, bitch. This child has just undergone a terrible tragedy, you had best back the fuck off, if you know what is good for you. Hit him one more fucking time, and I swear you will share the same fate as John Walker!"
His mother stopped, her eyes widened, dilating to the fullest. She tried to speak, but nothing came out. For once his mother had nothing to say. Was she? Yes, she was crying, no, she was sobbing. She fell to her knees, her face down and in her palms.
"Momma, why are you crying?" Brandon was speaking, the innocent boy returned to his body, shocking his mother.
She looks up at Brandon, and she finally found her voice. It wasn't angry, but it was sad? All she ever would do is yell and yell, instead of talking normally.
"Brandon?"
"Yeah momma, who else would I be?"
"Definitely you, baby boy."
"Who was the man talking momma?"
"No one said anything baby, you are just imagining things, silly goose."
"Okay, momma, can I go back to sleep now?"
"Yeah baby, everything will be okay you just had a really bad dream" she kisses him on the forehead and he drifts away to sleep.
On a serious note, I had to do that for the boy, I was tired of seeing that woman constantly do that to him. Yes I pitied the child, and it truly is a shame about his friend. For what I am, for what I did, and for what I will continue to do. That bastard deserved it, there was no need for what he did. I had taken the opportunity and I will explain this very soon.
I must say this it was very pleasant to finally see Brandon's mother be civil to him, but it was entertaining in a way because all it took was a little scare from me...This tale shall only going to get more and more intense as it goes, you will definitely see more, and more strange things happening. You've stomached it so far, so we will see how much longer that will last.
