Chapter 4

When I was holding a small backpack filled with clothes and waiting inside my house , an anbu finally came and I could not help but smile because my journey to become the strongest will begin soon .

The anbu wore a neko anbu mask and I was not interested to use my mind eye and see his appearance because his chakra was only at chunin level. I could not bother to remember all the weaker ninja I meet in future . To become an anbu with low chakra potential, he must have some special skill like sensor skill , tracking skill etc but he wont tell me about it anyway.

We started moving and I could see that we were heading near training ground 44 which was also called Forest of Death . The anbu was using Body Flicker to move fast but I did not try to chase him in a hurry because it would be useless even with my fastest speed. I simply did not want to tire myself and the anbu wont leave me behind anyway because it was his job to guide me to the secret base.

The training ground was not much far from Sarutobi Clan compound so we reached there in few minutes after hopping over roofs of the buildings on the way . I liked this running style very much . We did not enter inside the Forest of Death but stopped at a corner near its entrance .

I obediently stopped too because I had already spotted a hidden Underground entrance below us using my mind eye skill . It was like a huge lift which traveled downwards and I was really impressed by the mechanism because instead of heavy machines , seals had been used to maintain its functions.

As expected after the anbu formed one hand seal and sent some chakra on the ground , with a small cloud of smoke , a small metal platform appeared in place of the grass area. I knew this would happen but still was surprised to see magical stuff happening before my eyes . I did not hide my excitement and hopped onto the metal platform while secretly channeling some chakra on my feet to stick them on the platform.

This was a lift and I did not want to loose balance while the lift traveled at fast speed underground. I could not see the underground base with my mind eye which meant that it was located more than 24 meters underground. After the anbu made one more hand seal , the lift started working and we fell underground at fast speed. Fortunately I did not feel dizzy because I had stuck my feet firmly on the platform using chakra. My chakra control was more than enough to perform small feats like this and even that anbu was impressed by my quick thinking and flashed a thumbs up at me .

In only twenty seconds , we must have travelled at least one kilometer underground. After the lift stopped , I was astonished because we had arrived in a huge hall . The floor was completely white and the hall was surrounded by black buildings . The base must be several kilometers in length and I could not help but feel impressed by the means of ninja to build such a wonderful underground base.

I could see many more anbu wearing masks and black uniforms coming in and out using different entrances .

" Ahem.. Brat , you can call me Neko and I'm your supervisor for the training time and your test . So we will have too see each other frequently. Nice to meet you . " For the first time I heard the young and heavy voice of Neko . He held a fist in the air so I bumped mine with it as a sign of greeting.

After that I followed Neko and after passing many rooms , we arrived outside a room which had 245 number plate stuck on its door.

" Brat , this will be your room from now on until you pass the test and become an official anbu . You cannot leave the base until you complete your training and choose to undertake the test . Officially you have one year but try to take less time . "

I listened to Neko's talk obediently as we headed towards a small counter at the end of the corridor . I could see an anbu wearing Demon mask sitting there and was astonished inwardly when I checked that he had high jonin level chakra using my mind eye . It was my first time meeting someone so powerful except the old man Hokage . I could not help but start thinking about the reason why such a powerful ninja was here at a small counter instead of doing high rank missions .

" Brat , this the anbu library counter . You can ask for any jutsu scrolls and information for free as long as that doesn't exceed C rank . For further details you will naturally know after passing the test and becoming an official anbu . Here , take this list with you and carefully choose the techniques you want to get inside your room . "

My confusion was solved now because the anbu library is must be guarded by strong ninja after all . I was surprised by the fact that such a small counter was actually the library counter though . Neko gave me a small scroll and told me that it contains the list of jutsu inside so I accepted it and went towards my room number 245 .

My room should be called an apartment instead because it contained one bedroom , one kitchen , one bathroom , one living room and even one training room . There were many wooden human shaped dummies for training taijutsu and shurikenjutsu inside the training room . I was more than satisfied with this arrangement and could not help but feel that the village really put great attention on nurturing anbu . Even my house at the Sarutobi Compound was little smaller than this apartment which was only called a room by anbu here . After throwing my backpack on the bed , I decided to browse through the list and choose useful skills which I wanted to train now ..
