Life

"In darkness there is only one truth...death"

In the blink of an eye, three years had passed as I gradually got used to my new parents and life here in the Village Hidden in the Mist. My father is actually a jonin from the Leaf Village, or so he says, while my mother is a chunin in the Mist Village.

During the few years I had spent living as a normal baby, I had gained a rather unique..."thing" in my "system".

--------------------

So far, my stats haven't gone up by much, most barely under the 10 mark. My chakra was the only stat that constantly increased daily, like by 5-7 points a day, which means that I now have roughly 5.9k chakra.

Another perk of my little "system" is that I can see the values of peoples stats and even their "health". I noticed that the average person has about 500-1000 chakra give or take while even the lowest of Shinobi have around 8-10k chakra. So yeah, my bubble was popped pretty quickly.

Currently I was with my mother as she was talking to the academy principle about my admission. During the three years I had spent in this world, I had experienced numerous types of Jutsu, people, and Chakra Beast.

Chakra Beasts are creatures with enormous amounts of chakra that can cause ridiculous amounts of damage depending on the Chakra Beast. Despite this, most ninja throughout the world go through rituals where they summon a Chakra Beast and them have it sealed within themselves once they come of age.

Usually, a ninja does this ritual once they become a Genin, but some families request it to be done earlier, such as when their child is first born. I was in the earlier class apparently. I overheard my mother talking about special classes for children with Chakra Beasts, for most kids don't have one while attending the academy.

I looked up at my mother and asked "Am I getting a Chakra Beast, Mom...?" in the most childish way I could imagine, not hard considering my late kid sister acted like a child all the time.

Oh yeah, my kid sister isn't here...

My mother must have saw my aggrieved expression because she gently rubbed my head and asked "What's wrong sweetie...?" in a low and gentle voice. I shook my head and said "No, it's nothing. I just don't want to be away from Mom and Dad for too long."

My mother smiled and hugged me a little tighter before continuing her conversation with the academy principle. An hour later we were on our way back home when I had an idea.

"Hey, mom, can I see your Chakra Beast...?" My mother had a surprised expression for a second before her face morphed into a smile as she asked "Why? Do you find Chakra Beasts interesting?" I nodded my head furiously, causing her to chuckle before standing a few meters away.

My mother then bit her thumb, causing blood to form from a small puncture, before rapidly forming handsigns with ease. She then slammed her palm down on the ground, creating a massive cloud of smoke.

The smoke cleared to reveal an azure dragon about 8m long with dark blue wings, black spikes along its back, and pale blue lightning crackling around its entire body. The dragon spoke in a deep voice, saying "Why do you summon me, Akane?" as it turned its large head toward my mother.

She smiled and extended her hand toward me and said "This is my son, Tetsu. He was curious about Chakra Beast so I decided to let you talk to him for a bit." The dragon, Tetsu, nodded his head in a sagely manner as he turned back to me and said "Well, young one, what do you want to know from your Uncle Tetsu?" in a very kind voice with an almost Grandpa-like aura.

I instinctually took a step back before saying "I wanted to know what I would have to do to get something powerful enough to protect my family..." Tetsu's brow raised as he adopted a contemplative expression.

Tetsu silently nodded his head and said "Well, that depends on your version of power. If you're looking for a specific type of Chakra Beast, then you would have to have the same Chakra Nature as that specific type. But overall, most Chakra Beasts are very powerful and grant many boons that match their hosts combat style."

"Well how do I get to know my Chakra Nature...?" I asked with my head cocked slightly to the side.

Tetsu gestured to my mother with his head, causing her to pull out a rectangular piece of paper and handing it to me. Tetsu then went on to explain the five base Chakra Natures, Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning.

He told me to practice infusing my Chakra into the paper and if it wrinkles inward, then I have a lightning Chakra Nature, if it burns then I have a fire Chakra Nature, if it gets soaked then I have a water Chakra Nature, if it gets cleanly cut in half then I have a wind Chakra Nature, and if it crumbles then I have an earth Chakra Nature.

Tetsu was in the middle of telling me not to feel upset if I couldn't get the paper to react in the first few tries before going slack jawed and wide eyed when he saw the edges of the paper crumble slightly before the whole thing crinkled, then slowly catch ablaze.

Needless to say, not only was Tetsu, my mother, and I myself surprised, but everyone else on the busy streets of the Mist Village. Tetsu shook his head to clear his confused head before he stuttered "H-How...? You're only a c-child, and to add more salt to the wound you're a damned triple Chakra Nature shinobi..."

My mother grabbed my hand as she dismissed Tetsu and dragged me along back to our house with a wide smile on her face.

The sight of my fathers surprised face made me want to laugh.

My father quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out another piece of that strange paper before handing it to me. I took his hint and infused my chakra into the paper, causing it to crumble slightly, then crinkle before burning to ash.

I watched as my father whispered something into my mothers ear before leading her outside of the room to talk in the hallway. After a few minutes had passed they came back in with my father showing a wide grin on his face as he said "Ryuujin, follow me real quick."

I got up and followed my father outside just in time to see his turn around and carve the various handsigns in a large boulder using ninjutsu. He gestured for me to come closer as he began to explain the various combinations for a few fire and earth jutsu.

My father was born with a fire Chakra Nature and later learned an earth Chakra Nature once he became a Jonin, so he knew a thing or two about both Natures. I absorbed everything he taught me and quickly put it to use and even surprised my parents once again by shooting a decently sized fire ball into the sky using Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu.

After using a few more jutsu in almost rapid succession, I felt my body growing weaker by the second. My father must have seen my pale complexions because he called it a day and ushered me back inside and into my room to rest.

I laid on my bed and thought about what type of Chakra Beast I would end up getting, for I was told that it was almost completely random with the only guarantee being it matching your Chakra Nature. I sure hope it would turn out to be something badass like a dragon, just like Tetsu...

My eyes began to grow heavy and I slowly began to drift off into the land of dreams.

---

The clashing of steel and the roars of a blazing inferno swept across a quiet forest. Two hooded figure, one in white and the other in black, clashed furiously with each other, neither finding an opening. The two broke free from each other and flashed the same hand signs before roaring "Fire Style: Fire Dragon Blast!"

A massive explosion devastated the surrounding forest and caught the attention of several groups of Leaf Ninja Scouts. The two cloaked figures stood in the middle of a large crater, just staring at each other until the top of the crater was surrounded by Leaf Ninja.

The two then turned their heads upward as a fierce gust swept the now barren forest, causing the two's hoods to fly off of their heads, revealing a handsome man with black hair, and two distinct red eyes with pupils that looked like a three-pronged star, wearing the black cloak while the figure wearing the white cloak was a beautiful woman with similar black hair with red eyes that had a small circle for a pupil with a larger circle, encompassing the pupil, that had three small points jutting out from the larger circle.

I woke to the birds chattering and the sun in my eyes. I yawned and lazily stretched my body before getting dressed and walking out of my room to pursue the sweet smell of breakfast. I sat next to my yawning father and eagerly awaited mothers amazing cooking.

A knock at the door interrupted my precious breakfast time.

I grumbled as I hopped out of the chair and walked toward the door. I swung it open and saw a handsome man, like unnaturally handsome, with long black hair that hung down to his shoulders, and two unnerving black eyes that seemed to have not even an inkling of emotion contained within.

I heard my father call out from behind me "Ah, Hazake! Welcome, welcome! Come on in, please." My father put his hand on the mans shoulder, who now had a happy look on his face instead of the emotionless mask he had previously, and guided him toward the table for breakfast while continuing "How's your wife, Ayake? I hope you two have been well?"

The man shook his head and said "Yes, we've been faring well since you extended your kindness to us. I'm here not only to show my gratitude once again but to extend my kindness to your family as well." The man turned back to me and then said "I'm here to make sure that your son's Chakra Beast Contract goes perfectly..."

My brow raised slightly as an intrigued look spread across my face. The man chuckled and began to ruffle my hair while my father explained a few important details about Hazake.

"My friend here is an ancient Chakra Beast that manifested in our world without a host, which means he's very powerful, but he could not familiarize himself with this new world, thus causing him and his wife, Ayake, to almost die due to starvation."

"However, I had stumbled upon the duo and shared my field rations with them during my return trip back to the Leaf Village after a mission. After that I led them toward the Leaf and got them settled in, and now they protect the village and help out everywhere, especially during Chakra Beast Contracts." I took a moment to digest the information and then I looked up toward Hazake and asked

"So, can we get the contract ceremony started right away...?"
