Serefina felt something. A tinkle? That's what she thought. Serefina ignored the first tinkle but the second made her turn around. But there was no one to be seen.
"Uh Bryan?" she said and then Bryan stopped and turned his head to her sideways keeping his body still turned the opposite side.
"You feel it too, don't you?" Bryan said. This officially confirmed that Bryan was the most mysterious guy in the entire Timeland. Every single thing she tried to say, it was already known by Bryan. He narrowed his eyes, his gaze targeted on the frozen Time lake.
"Someone is watching us," Serefina said, squeezing the collar of Bryan's coat.
"Maybe," he said turning his head to the opposite side and started walking again.
"Shouldn't we do something?" she asked. Not sure why he was chilling like that.
"Well, we don't have to," he said.
"Why?" She ran to catch up with him. "Bryan, seriously, what are you trying to do?"
"Something that will lead the stalker right into our trap," he whispered in her ear.
"What trap?" Serefina asked.
"You'll see. Just wait and watch," Bryan answered.
Serefina's sigh was more like a growl. He should've been named Mystery Hillard not Bryan Hillard. It would make more sense.
"Relax, will you?" He said when he saw Serefina frowning.
"3," Bryan said after Serefina saw that they were very close to the end of the bridge. There was only one tree on the lush green grass. The Time tree.
"2," he continued. And Serefina was confused. So very confused. "And...1!"
He snatched Serefina's hand and shifted towards the railing nearly catching her before she could fall and then there was a BOOM!
Serefina shielded her face with her palms. "What just happened?"
"Ow ow ow!" a voice said.
She and Bryan turned and there was a tiny...fairy? She was lying on floor.
"C'mon Britty Britty! You did not had to be that harsh!" the fairy said and stood up and started flying and came towards them.
"You know her?" Serefina asked turning her head towards Bryan. He was very close. She jolted back, blushing.
"Yeah, she is Critty," Bryan said.
"Nice to meet you," the fairy said. "Hey Britty Britty, she is the girl you talk about all the time, right?"
"Critty!" Bryan snapped.
"She is cute, Britty Britty!"
"I didn't understand, who's Britty Britty?" Serefina asked.
"Him. Who else?" Critty pointed her little finger to Bryan.
Serefina couldn't stop herself from giggling.
"Okay, Critty, what are you doing here?" Bryan said changing the subject.
"I came to help," Critty said.
"You can not lie to me."
"Fine. I came to tell you that the king wants to see you, now."
"Now? But I am helping Serefina to find her grandma," Bryan argued.
"C'mon! Tik tok tik tok! Time's running out!" Critty snapped back.
"I'm sorry, Serefina. I seriously wanted to help but-"
"It's fine. We can come anytime. But your dad needs to talk to for some important reason. That's why the meeting is this urgent," Serefina inturuppted. Though, it was hard to stop finding her grandma. But she couldn't just stop anyone for her own sake.
Bryan's eyebrows showed worry when he turned his head towards her but he sighed and said "Thank you, for understanding. I appreciate it." He smiled. Which Serefina thought was adorable. "Well, we should teleport. It is a long bridge to walk. It'll take a lot of time."
Serefina nodded. He offered his hand and she took it. Then they whisked away. Maybe it wasn't the right time to find grandma after all.
