"What in the world?" Serefina asked as Linda stood in the ivy-covered room with a square face. No expression at all. But the thing that made Serefina so shocked was that the clouds had become completely red. The color of blood.
"The Time wall was glitching," Rhys said in a tone that Serefina couldn't understand.
"The red clouds mean that someone from the Time Council is dead," Bryan said his voice barely a whisper.
"Your right, Your Highness," Linda finally spoke up. "I have to go now." She stepped out of the portal when Bryan nodded.
"Someone...died?" Serefina couldn't help but ask. "Was it because of the Time Crystals?"
"It seems like it, " Bryan sighed. "The person who died. Who might it be?"
Serefina felt guilty. It was all her fault that someone had died.
"I think we should go where Linda went off to," Rhys suggested.
"Well, we don't have any other choice, do we?" Bryan stepped out of the portal so did Serefina, Kyle, and Rhys.
•••
At first, Serefina thought she was dreaming. Because when they stepped out the portal they weren't in the corridor where the mirror was.
"What is this place?" she said.
All of them were standing in the middle of a giant kind of a room with a circular table and chairs all around it. Serefina gasped as she looked that all the golden and shiny things in there.
"And why is everything gold?" Kyle asked before she could.
"This is where the Time Council gathers. And gold represents luxury. So that's the reason behind why everything is golden, " Bryan explained.
"Someone's showing off," Rhys commented.
"Was that supposed to be a complement?" said an unknown man who smiled as he approached inside the circular table from a gap that Serefina didn't notice before. "Or perhaps an insult."
The man had black hair and a black eye patch on his right eye.
He wore a green tunic and brown pants and a sword hung up in the quilt around his waist.
"Your Highness you have quite of friends," the man said.
"Weswill," Bryan chuckled. "Meet my sister Kyle, my best friend Rhys and my... Um..."
He stopped from introducing Serefina. What was she to Bryan?
"Let me guess, you finally have a girlfriend."
Serefina blushed and she was sure she saw Bryan blushing too. "N-no, she is my special friend." He looked at Serefina and gave her his gentle smile. "So who..." Bryan trailed off.
"Grypsin."
Bryan's eyes widened. He looked down at the floor. He clenched his fists so tight that it started to get red. Serefina reached for his hand. At instant he calmed down. "Thank you, " he whispered.
"He never came back from the Time forest."
Bryan cleared his throat, "So, you're saying that happed when he was at the Time forest in the outer world?"
"Exactly."
"Why did he go outside?"
"I did ask but as always he never answers our questions in a way they should be answered. He just said he was ordered to do something."
"Ordered?" Kyle asked. "Wait do you think he was ordered by Sedvie?"
"Cannot happen, however Gypsin was, he wasn't a betrayer.
"You never know who'll betray you, " Rhys said, his voice somehow sounded gloomy.
No one said a word before another voice interrupted the silence. "Very true of you say that." This man was rather not a man but an elf! His ponity ears and long white hair was like some kind of a fairytale.
But Serefina had to admit this man was acting like Grumpy from Snow White.
"I had said the exact same thing, " said the elf. "Sometimes betrayal is too much for you admit."
