Chapter 43 - Change of Plans

Next night, Serefina laid on her bed. Her mind couldn't let her relax. The meeting was something...

The Gracy Legacy. And her mom being the Queen of Time Crystalia?!? What was that all about?

She had never cared what happened to Diana Gracy and now when she had finally appeared out of nowhere, she couldn't care any less. No emotions towards her slowly turned into anger, frustration and hate. How could she do this to Grandma? Her own mother!

The silence made her want to scream her lungs out. Everything was turning out wrong. The Time Crystals were nowhere to be found. Grandma Hannah was nowhere to be found. And all the information she had was about someone named Emira. And the meeting with her was after the ball.

How long did she had to wait to get all the answers she needed?

"Serefina," someone whispered. Serefina ignored it, thinking that this might be her head talking to herself.

But there was another whisper, "Serefina."

Serefina sat up in a sitting position. "Wh-who is it?" she shuddered.

"Serefina."

Serefina slowly jumped out of the bed. She tip toed through her room towards the door. She kept her ear to listen, "Serefina."

She turned the door knob as quietly as possible.

"Serefina," the voice said again.

Serefina stepped out of the room. She made her way towards Grandma Hannah's room. She kept her ear on the door to confirm and surely the voice said, "Serefina."

Serefina gulped. She slowly turned the door knob and stepped inside.

Nothing was there. Everything was there where it should be.

"Sefi Sefi!" Someone sat on Serefina's shoulder making her jump.

And there was only one person who said names like that.

"Critty, do you want to scare me to death?" Serefina snapped.

Critty flew from Serefina's shoulder to in front of her. "Sorry Sefi Sefi," she laughed awkwardly.

Serefina sighed, "So what are you doing here?"

"I wanted to talk about Britty Britty," Critty said, her smile dropping.

Serefina raised an eyebrow. "What happened to him?"

"Well you know...he is not being himself."

Serefina hadn't met Bryan after that meeting. Not even in the school either and to be honest she was worried a little. "Is it because of the pre-coronation ball?"

"Well, there have been changes."

"What do you mean changes?"

"The King ordered the Coronation to be held tomorrow."

"You mean he ordered Bryan's coronation to become the Crown Prince tomorrow?!?"

"Yes."

"WHAT? But why?"

"I don't know the reason. But I overheard this information when Queen Zafina was talking to Miss Natalie."

Serefina thought for a second. Why would the King change his decision overnight? And more importantly, was Bryan okay? He did tell her that he wanted his Big Brother to become the Crown Prince and then later the King.

"Critty, can you take me to Timezium? I need to talk to him."

"That's the reason I came here in the first place. But there's an itsy bitsy problem."

Serefina raised her eyebrow.

"Well, you know that I am a pixie," Critty continued, "So I don't actually teleport. It's something else that I can't explain. That makes me kind of helpless in this situation. You'll have to teleport yourself like Britty Britty."

"But I don't know how to teleport on my own. Bryan is always the one who helps me," Serefina argued.

"I know but you have to try!"

Serefina took a deep breath. If this was for Bryan then she'll gladly do it.  "So how do I do it?"

"Just close your eyes and try to imagine the place where you want to teleport. Don't think of Timezium. Think of a vault where you're standing in the middle and you're surrounded by the pictures of the kingdoms inside the Time Crystal. Focus specially on Timezium and you're done."

Serefina nodded and did what she was told to do as she closed her eyes. She imagined the vault, the kingdoms, Timezium and finally Bryan's room though only the door from the outside. It wouldn't be a good manner to just barge in someone's room out of nowhere.

And then that tickling feeling returned. And in the next minute she opened her eyes to find herself standing in front of the door to Bryan's room. She couldn't believe she had just teleported!

She knocked. No one answered.

"Bryan it's me, Serefina. Can I come in?"

No answer.

"Is he okay?" she asked Critty who was floating beside her.

"I think we should just go in. He is really upset right know. He didn't even open the door for the queen."

"But that's-"

"Sefi Sefi go for it! It'll be fine."

Serefina sighed. And pushed the giant green doors open. The room was dark. There was a single candle lit on the bedside table. And beside the table, there was a boy, crouched down, holding a sword sheath in his hand.

Serefina inched closer and knew who this boy was. But the only difference was that. He didn't look like himself. He was shattered with guilt.

She rushed over to him, wrapping her arms around him. "Someone once told me to let it all out. But he should also know that he is allowed to do the same."

And that was it. Bryan cried on Serefina's shoulder. What Serefina didn't know was that it was the second time Bryan had cried like that. The first time was even more painful.
