We're Living in Complete Darkness

A young girl named Ashley Lexington was born in California on December 18, 2029. In her hometown called Stockton, she was one of the few survivors of a massive school shooting that took place at her elementary school. Everyone she knew at that school was dead, but at least a few of her classmates evacuated from the scene. Police suspect that a man was on a shooting rampage when he trespassed onto school property.

News reporters state that this man opened fire on several children on the playground and then committed suicide. Because of the tragedy that she endured, Ashley stepped in to speak about the current world we live in by quoting a line from Janet Jackson's album Rhythm Nation 1814.

Ashley Lexington

The year is 2040 and, so far, nothing has changed. Despite upgrade in technology and adapting to better environments, the reality is far from sacred. We live in a world that is filled with hate, violence, abuse, and war. We call it "Darkness."

In complete darkness, humanity is all the same. It's our wisdom and knowledge that separates us. Don't let anything deceive you. Even if there's still tragedy among us, we're not giving up on life. We need to keep striving so that we can make this world a better place.

However, fate may have an answer for us in store.

Thank you and have a blessed day.

Reminder: The line was from Janet Jackson's album Rhythm Nation. It's titled Living in Complete Darkness. The album speaks about the dark reality that we live in, but it also describes themes of love, resilience, and the will to make a difference.
