Conclusion

Welcome to the end of Tragedy Awaits. I'm glad to hear some feedback from my followers as well as the Wattpad community in general. I love creating this story because of how timeless our world is. Rhythm Nation 1814 was my inspiration for writing this story because it reflects every social theme that people face in real life such as school shootings, sleep paralysis, COVID-19, homelessness, the welfare of the world, and the Apocalypse. However, despite the dark social themes that are discussed in the story, I wanted to write it as a way to reflect on our problems, in order to overcome our adversaries.

Tragedy Awaits also serves as a shared universe to my debut story Lonely because they both take place in the United States, albeit in different areas; Lonely takes place in Mooresville whereas Tragedy Awaits is set in Raleigh. Centering around a child who befriends an angel after North Carolina experienced a fatal earthquake, I decided to link it as a shared story because the main character Julian crosses over as a patient who seeks professional advice from a calm, friendly yet mysterious psychiatrist named Eric Bridges. However, instead of Tragedy Awaits being a four-chapter long story, I wanted to write it as a fifteen chapter-long series due to its socially conscious issues. Because of the dark open-ended conclusion, 2049 will be a continuation of the series as it takes place nine years where Times Square is transformed into a battlefield for Armageddon to start. Forgive me if I made an error in my last chapter about the setting for the sequel.

As stated before in my acknowledgments, resiliency plays a huge role in my life because I love drawing art that displays a person's struggle to find their importance in life. I'm also autistic but I'm high-functioned. However, despite that I'm less severe than other people with the same disorder, I don't treat them differently. My family, friends, and teachers all treat me with respect and I treat them with the same gratitude. In Tragedy Awaits, resiliency plays a huge factor because of many people in real life experience terrifying events that cause them to lose their loved ones and risking their own wellbeing. Though, in order for the characters to avoid passing judgment on others, the people overcome adversaries by staying strong and making sure they have a clear focus on their surroundings.

I wanted to write this story because everything that happened in the world relates to how people are struggling to strive within a flawed, but still functioning society. Instead of focusing on one particular person, the series will focus on various people that have experienced many tragedies within their life. One of the inspirations that came into mind was Janet Jackson's album Rhythm Nation 1814. I absolutely loved this album because of how influential it is. Ranging from social issues such as drug abuse, violence, crime, the Stockton incident, poverty, and education, the album also deals with love and hope to balance out the dark with the light.

Tragedy Awaits will have tragedy, yes, but it will also be combined with the theme of resilience to tell an uplifting story about overcoming the darkness. The series will be a prequel to the apocalyptic drama 2049 where supernatural beings fight at Times Square to determine Earth's fate.

Before I wrap up, I want to insert an uplifting song about accepting a loved one's death rather than mourning it. It is sung by the whole generation. This is from The Velvet Rope by Janet Jackson. It's called Together Again.

[Intro]

There are times when I look above and beyond

There are times when I feel your love around me, baby

I'll never forget my baby

I'll never forget you

[Verse 1]

There are times when I look above and beyond

There are times when I feel your love around me, baby

I'll never forget my baby

When I feel that I don't belong

Draw my strength from the words when you said

Hey, it's about you, baby

Look deeper inside you, baby

[Pre-Chorus]

Dream about us together again

What I want: us together again, baby

I know we'll be together again, 'cause

[Chorus]

Everywhere I go, every smile I see

I know you are there smilin' back at me

Dancin' in moonlight, I know you are free

'Cause I can see your star shinin' down on me

[Post-Chorus]

(Together again, ooh)

Good times we'll share again

(Together again, ooh)

Makes me wanna dance

(Together again, ooh)

Say it loud and proud

(Together again, ooh)

All my love's for you

[Verse 2]

Always been a true angel to me - now above

I can't wait for you to wrap your wings around me, baby

(Wrap them around me, baby)

Oooh, wrap them around me, baby

(Wrap them around me, baby)

Sometimes hear you whisperin' "No more pain"

No worries will you ever see now, baby

(Ever see you, baby)

I'm so happy for my baby

(Happy for you, baby)

[Pre-Chorus]

Dream about us together again

What I want: us together again, baby

I know we'll be together again, 'cause

[Chorus]

Everywhere I go, every smile I see

I know you are there smilin' back at me

Dancin' in moonlight, I know you are free

'Cause I can see your star shinin' down on me

[Post-Chorus]

(Together again, ooh)

Good times we'll share again

(Together again, ooh)

Makes me wanna dance

(Together again, ooh)

Say it loud and proud

(Together again, ooh)

All my love's for you

[Bridge]

There are times when I look above and beyond

There are times when I feel you smile upon me, baby

I'll never forget my baby

What I'd give just to hold you close as on earth

In heaven, we will be together, baby

(Together)

Together again, my baby

(Together again, my baby)

[Chorus]

Everywhere I go, every smile I see

I know you are there smilin' back at me

Dancin' in moonlight, I know you are free

'Cause I can see your star shinin' down on me

Everywhere I go, every smile I see

I know you are there smilin' back at me

Dancin' in moonlight, I know you are free

'Cause I can see your star shinin' down on me

Thank you and God bless you.
