What Happened Barbara Interlude?

In 1689 of England

John Locke: So, Ms. Butler? What seems to be the problem?

Barbara: Well, you see Mr. Locke. I got family problems that I'm still dealing with in this day and age.

John Locke: What kind of family problems?

Barbara: My family abuses me as usual. When I was making salad for dinner, I accidentally burnt the plums and my mother threw the whole salad at my face, while my stepsisters laughed maliciously at me. Then, when I was going to my friend's house to play, my stepsisters kicked me violently across the floor which led to me becoming dirty. My mother forced me to study, despite scoring good marks on my homework and tests.

John Locke: Well, did you talk to them about how you feel?

Barbara: No. They wouldn't listen anyway. So that's why I'm telling my story to you.

John Locke: What story?

Barbara: (grinning) The day I met a....... special friend of mine.
