"Promise me something" I said to them

They both looked at me in confusion 

"Promise me that we won't let any stupid things separate us after this. No stupid exam marks, or boys are whatever!. We'll always be together through anything. Anything at all" I said

Elly smiled at me.

"Through joy and misery," Elly said holding my hand and Phoebe's hand

"Through health and sickness" Phoebe said holding my hand

I squeezed both of their hands a little.

"Through thick and thin" I smiled 

A few seconds later,

"Guys..." Phoebe's voice trailed off

"Yeah?" I asked

"I think we just made a marriage vow..." she said

I messed up. I messed up again. Again, and again. Phoebe walked away after the incident at the cafeteria. Elly walked with me to the library. We both had a free period. The walk was silent and it was just awkward. I was guilty. I was repeating all the words I said in my mind. How stupid was I? I basically called her a slut without saying the actual word. Elly reassured me but I could see that she was disappointed in me. She knew how I hurt Caroline before. Even after Caroline forgave me, Elly always doubted me. And when I finally earn her trust back and befriended her, I blew it up. 


"Trust me, Nick. She will not like that." Elly replied 


"I don't care. I'm going to do it anyway." I stood up
