chapter 4 part 1

Emeline's POV

I've been here for nearly a week, I didn't know how much my parents owe but they've made no effort to get their only daughter, I've been doing the same thing all week, train, eat and sleep but occasionally I get this type of chill that someone is watching me, but all around me are just the members of the gang, but I also get on when I'm just sitting in my room minding my own business.

I've been getting closer to Phyco and Jackie this past week but I also came across some guy I've never met before, I was told he's called Ferguson by Phyco and that he's Adriano's brother, it took me by surprise but he left after a couple of days, it made me sad because he had become my best friend, I'm telling you he's much nicer than his brother he was really scary at the start when I first met him but when I got to know him he was more like a teddy bear when he left he gave me his number and told me that I could call or text him whenever I wanted.

I had a slight problem though, I didn't have a phone and the only phone that was in the house was in Adriano's office and I wasn't going to step in there, I told him and he just frowned but then pulled out a phone and handed it to me "It's all set up for you, all you've got to do is add my number" I hugged him and then he left I waved as his car pulled out of the driveway, it got quiet all of a sudden but eventually got used to it.

For the rest of the week, Jackie had been following me like a puppy always wanting attention but he always made jokes and came up with pranks, we planned a few together on Phyco to add some entertainment in our lives, man was it boring for a while, but as punishment every time, we didn't even last a day before we made a mess and got told off again.

Jackie kept making jokes leading me to be hunched over in pain with tears falling out of my eyes and my cheeks hurting from laughing too much, Phyco on the other hand we had the small talk but I got to know a few things about him and how he had a little sister but she passed away from an illness, he came to the gang at 15 and how he couldn't cope with the grief as well as the abuse he got from his parents, he trained all day and night to forget about it and to become the best fighter in the gang.

He misses his sister, when he was talking about her he seemed happy as if nothing else mattered, when he joined Jackie and Adriano treated him like a brother he didn't feel like an outsider he felt happy, they accepted him in the gang that is now his family, " they helped me at my lowest, they helped me if I needed it" he spoke so highly of Jackie and Adriano, we walked to the kitchen when he was talking but stopped for a few seconds if I wanted coffee, he made me a vanilla latte and let me tell you it was heaven in a cup,

I've always thought Phyco had no emotion I had never seen him smile before, so I made it my mission to make him loosen up a bit, when I and Jackie pulled a few pranks on him he got his revenge and I saw him laugh for the first time I've been here the contagious laugh floating around the room began to make everyone else to laugh.

I haven't seen Adriano since I first came here, he's always in his office and would only come out late in the evening or early in the morning when I should be sleeping but instead of training, I like to train by myself before I had to train with the gang after breakfast.

In the mornings I always do a small workout, testing my strength, and agility. I always try not to tire my body before my training session with everyone else, next week I start one on one fighting and then gun and knife handling the week after that, At the end of the month I've got a test on my overall training, I've got ages so I'm not concerned and with my extra morning training I'm more than ready.

In my spare time, I've been cooking in the kitchen with the chef Catalina, it turns out she's Adriano's aunt, she the sweetest women I've ever met, we would bake cakes and cookies before or after training while Jackie snuck in an munched on them, I caught him a couple of times but sometimes he's really quiet you can't hear him, we would talk and laugh as she spoke about her children and how Adriano was like as a little kid, now and then I would help set the table and prepare lunch and dinner for everyone.

I was heading up to bed after a long day of training and cooking, my clothes were sticky and smelt like dinner, I was pulled out of my thoughts on having a well-needed shower when I heard voices coming from a room down the hall catching my attention. I tried to be quiet as I neared the closed door that illuminated the polished floor in the hallway, without making any sudden movements to know I was there or to distract them from the conversation, as I got closer the voices became more audible, I know it's rude to eavesdrop but I couldn't help it, as soon as I heard my name leave someone's mouth I pressed my body firmly against the wall, close enough to hear but far away to not be seen when the door flings open.

The hush tones of voices stopped causing me to hold my breath as the thought of being caught submerged my mind, 'how's that possible I made noise, did I?' ' is there a camera around' a soon as that thought came I looked around me, in every corner, in every painting, I stopped looking when they started talking, leading me to instantly relax.

I still couldn't tell who the other person was but I did know that Adriano was in there, his voice holding so much authority over everyone when another voice spoke my breath got stuck in my throat, I knew that voice all too well, my father was in there in that room with a gang leader who could kill him at any moment, and I couldn't do anything about it, my father cared more about me than anyone else, but that got taken away when a gunshot echoed and then all was silent only my breathing could be heard from outside the oak wood door.

I walked away quickly but silently hoping to not be noticed or heard, but of course, luck wasn't on my side, I was a foot away from my door when Adriano walked out of his study and stopped mid-stride, making me tense with his eyes looking deeply at me, I could feel it burning my face I didn't bother looking him as I felt my cheeks becoming wet, my tears cascading down to my chin as they drip off and splash on the polished wooden floor, I tilted my head as I washed them drop.

I violently wiped them away, picked myself up, I walked through my door and slowly clicked it shut, I waited silently for him to leave when I heard his shoes click on the floor as they cascaded down the stairs till it was completely silent, that was when I slid down my wall and cried till I couldn't fell any more tears.

I changed into some gym clothes and raced down the stairs I bumped into a few people but apologized straight after, I didn't feel tired anymore my body was filling up with adrenaline pumping my veins with energy, it was like a beast pushing through to gain power, it wanted out and I wasn't going to let it.

As soon as I reached the gym I stormed straight to the punching bag landing a punch straight to the middle causing it to fly back with force, I repeatedly punched it with the same force picturing Adriano's face, I wanted revenge and I will get it till the day I die, images on me and my father played in my head 'don't let emotions take control, because you may regret it after, always think with your head' my younger self standing in front of him as I stood by the side watching it play in front on me, "don't worry dad I'm going to get my revenge" I whispered I snapped out of my trance and screamed as I punched the wall, the skin on my knuckles cracking as blood dripped down to my fingertips, I wiped it away and breathed slowly as my lungs burned in need of oxygen.

I will get my revenge !!
