[Chapter Thirty-nine]

In a dark alley of another safe zone, a couple of footsteps could softly be heard as the owners of the noise walked stealthily and quietly as they could. The group of people was all wearing hoods, covering their faces from any sudden passerby that they would meet. The houses they passed by were all rundown with either a tiny sliver of light peeking through the cloth curtains, or wood, or completely engulfed in darkness. The moon was partially peeking through the clouds in the sky giving them some illumination on the path they were walking on.

"There should be a secret lever here," the taller one said as he crouched down to grope the lower part of the wall. "As said in the letter…" He grunted a bit as his height made it hard for him to reach all the way without sitting on the ground or squatting. His hands frantically inspecting the wall for the said lever, occasionally bumping on the stalks of the overgrown grass and weeds.
