Peter's Perspective

Felicity Riley. I don’t know where to start with her in all honesty. Everything about her drew me in, all of it. Her smile that could set the forest ablaze, her laugh to brighten up even the darkest days, and then you had her eyes. Man, they are something else, don’t know how I would even begin to describe them. The contrast from her delicately tanned skin, almost as though the sun itself had tried to kiss her, was crafted to blend beautifully yet stand out all the same. Glistening with joy as rays ricocheted off as one would expect if a diamond. The only difference being Felicity is worth more than some rock; a rock that looks dull upon comparison is if no matter to me.

I’ve seen the way she takes in her surroundings in full before allowing herself to relax. This undercurrent needs to assure safety is true to what is claimed. These instinctual, primal urges are how I know she has the making of the best Luna our pack has yet to see. If only she knew just how much she already means, to not only myself but the members if the pack. Most have yet to even catch a glimpse of my starlight eyed beauty of a mate yet would lay their lives to please and protect her. To say I fill with pride at the loyalty shown is an understatement. It could be that previous disloyalty has led us to the brink of destruction before but I know our bonds come from more than a year or need for survival, they come from trust.

The days leading up to finding my mate were uneventful at best. A mere patrol that requested I join on the speculation of a rebellion forming. I knew this to be false as the informant was someone who had been banished for plotting against the pack. I went regardless to help my people feel safe here, my main joy is that nothing of importance happened in my absence. Alas if I had not gone then Felicity would not be in my life or may even be under the orders of a more ruthless alpha. An alpha who wouldn’t care for her humanity but force her to shift immediately. Yeah I know, many think you have to be born into a pack in order to be a spirit-shifter. What they don’t know is everyone is a spirit-shifter except their ancestors turned from the practise causing the defendants to believe it a myth or a privilege to be acknowledged by one. It is from such knowledge I can know with certainty that my dear will one day join me in our hunts or even the training of battle. If it’s not clear I have high hopes that Felicity will decide to see how it goes. I’m fine with it if she doesn’t a that’s her choice, I just pray she will give me a chance at the least.

Enough of that now. Felicity decided she wanted first pick on what movie we watch tonight which gives me hope. To be fair she can do whatever she wants in here. This is going to be her home just as much as it is mine from now onwards. The main issue I’m having is if she knows any of the movies I have or if I need to invest in others I have yet to hear of, not exactly up to date with her type of normal here. We tend to focus more on action or comedy or horror/thriller. Hopefully these are enough for tonight and if need be then I can have some more brought in tomorrow.

It’s odd because I just can’t get over how truly beautiful my mate is. Felicity truly is radiant and should anyone say otherwise it would be an act of blasphemy. However, I need to work on getting her to like me. At the moment she has agreed to seeing how this plays out but in order to properly win her heart I’ll have to prove I’m worthy of her. The question is how to do it? Do I just buy her flowers and chocolate like regular men? Should I hunt for her and bring her back a deer like is our tradition? Do I mix the two together and bring her flowers and a deer? Or do I do something completely different? I shall have to get to know her appropriately first and as we go my worth will be proven slowly until she can no longer deny it to be so.

I hear the dinner bell chime softly in the distance from the southern kitchen. This reminds me that Felicity has yet to eat a proper meal since arriving here. I’ll offer to make some food for her and see how that fairs against her.

“You must be hungry. It’s been a while since you last had a proper meal. The choice is yours however. We can go to the dining room and join the rest of the pack or we can stay here and I shall cook something for the both of us. Whichever you prefer or are most comfortable with is fine by me.”

I can almost see the wheels turning in her head as she attempts to decide what she would like to do. Almost reminding me of one of the younger shifters that couldn’t eat in the kitchen for a while as she was allergic to paprika and we didn’t know until a medical professional informed us so. Maybe Felicity has an allergy that there is need for caution when deciding food. I’ll have to ask.

“Should you have any allergies the kitchen is able to compensate if you wish.”

Startled she made eye contact to realise I had been observing her reactions closely before she answered. Oh Lord her voice is an angel among us all.

“Would it be possible to eat here tonight? I would hate to pit such stress on the cooks when they haven’t even met me yet.”

Always considerate of others I see, and that delightful flush of her cheeks just makes her even more adorable should it be a capable feat. I am swift to reassure that we can indeed stay here or else it wouldn’t be an option but also that the cooks are more than happy to cater to everyone needs and/or preferences when preparing food for mealtimes. Plus, the chance her allergy may match one we are already aware of. However, the last point is quickly proven to be false upon the confession that her allergies are shellfish and most red meats. The only red meat that Felicity can eat is beef but even then, precautions must be taken to ensure it is made fully cooked whether that is a burger or steak. It seems that her allergy may lie in the blood if the animal rather than the meat itself. That is a theory for her to look onto only if she should wish to. I am merely here to provide, care and love her. I take quick note of what has been said before moving towards my personal kitchen to make a simple vegetable stir-fry for our dinner. A safe food for everyone involved.
