Chapter 9 - Unforseen Confession

(Diana’s POV)

The event in the university only took half of the day so the students also immediately went home after the basketball game. Jacob and Auzia have their own plans right now so they left the school premises without us. Four of us left here walking towards the gate of the campus. Good thing that Lucy is still here talking about how bored she is on their room. I also discovered that right now that her classroom is just adjacent to ours.

“So, I’m just gonna leave first. I still have my taekwondo class right now.” Taekwondo class? I didn’t expect that she’s taking taekwondo because her body is quite far from my standards of being a taekwondo artist. She’s not that fat but she’s not that thin either. I just didn’t expect because of her personality.

“I’ll walk you there. Kin, I gotta go.” Dew immediately grab Lucy’s hand then ran away from us. I couldn’t also explain how shock Lucy is when Dew grabbed her hand. I’m not sure if she’s annoyed with that or flattered.

“Hey.” I shifted my gaze at my gorilla friend and he’s smiling at me. Seriously? He’s smiling right now?! “What’s with that look?” his smile faded and it was replaced by confusion.

“Nothing. I’m just thinking of my school works.” I lied before looking away from him. But he smiled at me a while ago huh. Is he doing that with others too? I bet no.

“Why you’re looking at my face when you’re thinking something?” she smiled at me teasingly. “You’re thinking of me aren’t you?” he comes closer to me and his face is just a couple of inches away from mine. Hell! I felt like I am going to poop or something!

He’s just staring at me intently and I was just staring at the left side avoiding his stares at me. I can’t look at him normally because I don’t know if I will be startled again or even freeze when I saw his face in this kind of distance. I am also afraid because he’s quite a quick witted man. Is he a mind reader or something? All of those awkward things that I know, he’s doing it to me.

“Have you already thought of it? The thing I’ve said when we are on the beach.” Scenes from our first date suddenly went back in my memories.

“Where the hell are we going?” I am already asking him for the nth time yet he’s just as silent as he is. Sometimes I can see him smiling like an idiot but I’m not sure if that was just my imagination or not.

He pushed me inside his car and just drive like I really wanted to do this. My mind even went frozen as I saw his car parked outside. It’s my first time riding in a Lamborghini and it still amazes me right now. It’s in black with an accent of red which made it looks like a fire. I also saw Jacob’s Bugatti at the parking lot but I don’t have much time to look at it because Kin already dragged me away.

I don’t have any interest in cars too so I am really amazed seeing this in real. It’s a blue with white accent which looks like a lightning but white.

“We’re here.” I look outside of the car and I was in awe when I saw the sunset and this glamorous beach resort. I can’t see any people here roaming around, only the owner of the stalls who’s selling some drinks and party snacks. “You like it?” I don’t know how to answer his question because it feels like I was muted by the beautiful sunset behind me.

“I do.” I answered hysterically. I’m still busy admiring the sunset behind me not noticing that he’s staring at me…also admiring.

As we walk towards the entrance I can see the liveliness of this place. It feels like Christmas because of the presence of the Christmas lights in every stall.

As we reached the entrance, we are welcomed by two men wearing tuxedos. They are the one who’s staying at the entrance welcoming the visitors. “Good evening ma’am, sir. Are you going to be here all night?” I glanced at Kin and he just gave me a blank look.

“No. We’re not.” I answered. I know that Auzia will really think of something if I couldn’t get back at the boarding house.

“Then you may proceed at the logging area then you can free to roam around at the beach already. Enjoy staying here.” The other man explained. I still didn’t answer them when Kin drag me inside the beach. What is his problem again?

Kin didn’t accompany me at the logging area so I just list down our names. The woman that is assigned there is quite bitchy. It took me a couple of minutes in explaining her why I am signing two names at the log book.

“Come here.” Unending grabbing and pulling hands are happening between us. “You need to see this.” I just followed at him even though my hands are already hurt because of him.

“What do I need to see huh?” he stopped from dragging me and turns around. A small smile crept on his face before pointing at the sky.

“That.” As I look up at the gloomy sky, I saw nothing. It’s just as normal like stars and crescent moon. I looked at him raising my brow but I also didn’t expect to hug him as I was startled at the continuous loud explosions. I don’t care of what he may think about this hugging but this is better compared to being shot right now.

“Pft!” he slowly pushes me away from him but I’m still closing my eyes. “Look up.” He said. I slowly opened my eyes and carefully look up at the sky. The fear that I felt a while ago turns into amusement and excitement.

The sky was filled with different colors of fireworks and some of the fireworks are creating heart shapes and even words.

“Wow!” I couldn’t explain my feelings right now. It feels like I am already seeing my own paradise here in this world. As the fireworks display stopped I immediately get annoyed about it. I am already enjoying it!

“Ok everyone let’s begin the countdown for the last blow.” I shifted my gaze at the emcee that is standing behind us at a small stage. I just only realize right now that there are already many tourists here. So this beach is really alive only at night.

They all counted down which made me also joined them in unison. Kin was just holding my hand while looking up at the sky waiting for it. His side view is quite tempting huh.

“Now!” The emcees shout was not that clear because of the fireworks loud explosions. The entire tourist was mesmerizes on what are we seeing right now. I also couldn’t react at it. I was just staring at it like it was my forever.

“I Love You.” I read the words that were formed by the fireworks. It’s beautiful! I never saw this kind of fireworks display in my entire life. I only saw this in TVs and cinemas but not in real.

“I love you too.” I shifted my gaze to Kin and he’s looking at me right now too. What di he say? “Can you be my wife Diana?”

I almost lost my hearing because of what he said last time, plus the fact that my heart was beating so fast like I was chase by some reapers and demons. “I thought you said that you’ll think of it?”

I faced him containing myself not to be startled by his presence. “And what if I don’t agree? What will you do huh?” his smirk suddenly disappeared as he distance himself from me.

“There is.” He’s just staring at me and I can’t read what he’s thinking. He’s just smiling normally to me but his looks say different.

“W-what is it?” I hid my uneasiness and just pull myself together. I need to pretend that that was nothing.

As I said it to him, he suddenly comes closer to me. He pulled my waist and suddenly I felt his lips on mine. I didn’t move a single inch. He uses his tongue to open the kiss and it became torrid. I don’t know how to act or to response because this is my first kiss but I suddenly noticed that I’m responding with his kisses. I wrap my arms on his waist and he did the same. He’s pro with this thing because he knows how to respond to me intensely. I bit his lower lip that makes him groan a little.

“You’re good at it.” He uttered. That only happens for how many seconds before he cut the kiss.

“I’m not.” I defended but looking at the other directions. I know that my face is already heating even I don’t look at the mirror.

“You’re not?” I gave him a death stare because of his sarcastic tone but he’s still grinning at me like an idiot.

“Yes.” I said in a firm and ending tone. What is he trying to say right now huh? That I am hungry for a kiss? I am a professional in kissing? That was my first kiss asshole! “And to prove you that you’re wrong, that was my first kiss so I. Don’t. Know. Anything. About. It.” He froze a little bit that I don’t know what the reason is but that only stayed for a second. He’s smirking again like an idiot.

“I’ll teach you then, wife.” My eyes widened as I heard how he called me. Wife?

His words are like a broken CD radio in my ear. It keeps on repeating like it was just my only playlist in my mind. This is not right already. “Hey, just for the record, I’m still not yours and who the hell told you to call me that.” Smile crept on his face which made me confused again. The only thing he need is a torn shirts and grease. He will already look like a street orphans. But he’s too handsome to be like that though.

“Stop grinning like an idiot.” I said out of annoyance. I’m not comfortable with that smile of him. Though he’s handsome when he smirks but I don’t like it.

“I’m still not yours? That’s what you’ve said right?” I was stunned and stay still at my position. He even copied the way I said it! Did I say it wrong? Or maybe he’s just making it up. But he’s cute when he mimics my voice.

“It’s not.” Fuck! Maybe I really said it in a wrong way. I’m quite clumsy with my words right now.

“Bad liar.” He replied before dragging me, again, going to his car that was parked at the waiting shed of the university.

“And where the hell are we going again right now?” He stopped from dragging me then glanced at me.

“To eat. I’m already hungry and If you won’t enter the car right now…” he stopped from talking and slowly come closer to me.

“I won’t hesitate to eat you here.” he whispered at me and it makes me shivers. His voice is tempting me but I’m pulling back my desire. Shit why the hell is this happening to me!

“Aren’t you going to enter the car?” he uttered in a seductive way. His eyes are covered with lusts so I ran towards his car and immediately entered. I was about to pull the door of his car but it won’t open. I look at him asking about it and I just realized that it’s still locked.

“Open it idiot.” He wanted me to go inside yet his car is still locked. Like whom the hell will do that Of course there’s someone. Him!

“Oh, I thought you want to be eaten.” He crossed his arms while looking at me teasing. “Here.” He clicked something at the thing that he’s carrying and I think that’s the key of this freaking Lamborghini. His car sounded like some notifications was received and even its lights blinked.

I immediately went inside because I am already afraid of what might happen to me later if I won’t. I don’t know but there’s a part of me that felt regret. Regret that I didn’t accept his second offer aside from getting inside the car. Damn! His sexual appeal is slowly eating me alive!

(Maddie’s POV)

I thought Mom will like Pathreck for me because he’s also caring and attentive to me. And to think that he’s not like the other guys that only wanted sex in their partners.

“I won’t accept him. You’re the heiress of this company Maddie. Mandy lost her interest with this too. You’re my only hope for this.” Good thing that Pathreck is already outside. I did it purposely for him not to hear my Mom’s nagging at me.

“I don’t care Mom. All this time I followed your orders and your wills but right now that I’m already at the right age, maybe I have the right to do the things that I want.” She looked at me in a disgusting look but the hell I care. Since I was a kid, I followed what she says even it’s not what I want. “And I’m just telling this to you in case that you won’t see me again.” She’s just holding her anger but I know that she already lost of words to say. I’ve grown up already.

“Do whatever you want. Such a brat. You and your sister are nothing.” I didn’t fight back with that. I went outside and I saw Pathreck looking at me wearing his glowing smile on his face

“What’s wrong?” he asked. I gave him a smile to ease his concerns to me.

“Nothing. My Mom is hard headed. Her temper is always messed up. Don’t worry she only expresses her point of views in the way of nagging.” I explained and he also buys that reason of mine.

We left Mom’s office and I immediately saw Ji…who’s talking to a man? Who’s that man?

“Clay?” Pathreck uttered but I didn’t hear it clearly. Does he know the guy?

“You know him?” I asked while looking at the man that Ji is talking to.

“Y-yeah. H-he’s my friend.” I smiled with that thought. So I think he’s Ji’s suitor based on his actions. I’ve already met many guys in Canada and the way they act, they are still the same as here.

“So who called me a while ago?” the man asked Ji. Are they in quarrel? We approach them two and the guy was shocked seeing us. Maybe he recognizes Pathreck.

“Flicke what are you doing here?” The guys asked in disbelief. Who is he by the way?

“That’s my line idiot. Is that your br…I mean that’s her?” their atmosphere is quite serious and I also saw how Jiana startled while looking at them

“Yeah she is. By the way, you are Maddie right?” he shifted his gaze to my direction. He knows who am I? “Flicke told me about you.” I shifted my gaze at Pathreck and he gave me a shy smile. How cute!

“Oh is that so. So I don’t need to introduce myself.” I laughed with that.

“I’m Clay.” He responses but his stares never left Jiana.

“You’re friends with Ji? I asked directly which made Jiana look at me but I gave her a teasing smile.

“Y-yeah. She’s m-my…my girlfriend.” I covered my mouth in shock and just looked at them. I also saw how Ji was shock with that. Clay grabs Ji’s hand and showed it to us.

“OMG! A perfect timing! Why don’t we have a double date?” I suggested which made Ji more shock. I know she’s holding back her emotions and feelings about Clay. “Is that ok with you love?” Pathreck glanced at me.

“Why not?” He answered in question form before holding my hand. He’s really sweet.

“Mi, we can’t. Your Mom will surely nag at me if I leave my station here.” Ji complained but she has nothing to worry about.

“That’s on me. Don’t worry.” I called the lady in uniform that is assigned in the jewellery section and told her everything.

“Give Jiana a one week free time. You’re also the one in charge for looking for his substitute. Understand?” the lady nod at me but her eyes are still asking why.

“Problem solved.” I said. Pathreck is just staring at Clay like they are talking through their sights. Ji just covered her face with his hands because she’s already with it

“I’ll just change my clothes.” She excused herself to go to the dressing room. I hope this will end nice.

(Jiana’s POV)

I don’t really know what to do right now. What if I will act like I have a stomach ache? It’s kinda weird too.

What the hell is Clay thinking about it? I am his girlfriend? Since when? Did his pride was pulled down because his friend have Maddie? Just wow! If that’s the case, then why me? Of all the girls in the shop, why me?

I just wore a simple plain white dress with a yellow small flowers accent on it. I grab my phone and immediately dialled Clay’s number.

Phone rings……

“What joke are you trying to pull out right now huh? Seriously, you’ve even mess up my work here.” My voice is not that loud so I guess I am the only one who can hear it.

“Look I’m sorry for blurting out just like that but I really meant it.” Meant it? What meant it is he talking about?

“What are you trying to imply?” we’re already fooling ourselves right now. I’m not saying that I am angry on him but he did something that must not happen right now.

“I meant what I’ve said earlier. I want you to be my woman…can I…be your man?” my mind froze as I heard him on the other line. What did he say? Can he be my man? And he wants me to be his woman? What’s the difference?

“Wait wait wait. So you’re asking me out?” or did I misunderstood it?

“Yeah…and can you please get out there already. Maddie is waiting here like hell.” He chuckled between his words so chuckled too.

I ended the call but I didn’t say that I am agreeing with it. Duh? I’m not this beautiful I deserve to be respected naman. If he wanted that, then he must confess at me in person.

I went out at the dressing room because I’m sure that Mie is already bored in waiting for me. This won’t be my literal date but I think dito my love life will start here.
