Chapter 19 - Day With You

(Jiana’s POV)

The contest ended at exactly two in the afternoon. After the leaving the venue, I calm myself down and tried not to scream above my lungs. It’s too annoying already. Why did we join there at the first place again? Is that what he really wanted? That she’ll be the center of all those flirty women inside the venue? Damn it!

“Ji what’s the problem? You’re face resembles a typhoon already.” I glanced at my bestfriend and she’s obviously scared of my aura right now. She even toned down her voice just to adjust and not to hit something inside me that can worsen the situation.

“It’s nothing. I’m okay, Mie.” I changed my expression and acted like nothing happened to ease her curiosity.

“I know that you’re not okay. What’s bothering you?” I sighed in defeat and told her what happened back there

“Love, we’ll be there. Call me if you need something okay?” he pointed the bench near the window. Other people are also waiting there, probably the contestant’s guardians or something.

“I don’t need anything so I won’t call you.” I ignored his words which made him walked towards Flicke’s bench. I ended up roaming around with Mie to observe with the contestants.

“Ji this one is one of a kind. The theme is fabulous.” Maddie screamed in excitement which made the painter blushed. Dark expressions of Flicke didn’t escape with my eyes as he saw how the man smiled because of Maddie’s compliment.

I pulled my bestfriend going to the other contestant, specifically a girl to avoid issues. “This is commendable too. Look at this.” Frankly speaking, the painting really looks good, not because I want to distract Maddie but it’s obviously nice.

“Yeah, you’re right. But they’re still the same since only their own them differs.” If she just knows that someone might end up in the hospital with her compliments, probably she’ll take those back.

I look back to see what’s happening with the two guys. I saw how Flicke smiled at me because of what I did. As if I really wanted to do that. I mean, I’m just scared of what might happen later. He and his stares are just deadly as it is.

I looked at the dumbass and what the hell is he doing right now? Who is that leech? Why is she talking to him? So that’s it? That’s the reason why he wanted to sit there? To flirt!

“Ji, look at this. This one is fiery.” I ignored what Maddie is trying to show to me and just observe the dimwit busy on entertaining those bitches. But as much as I wanted to run towards them and pull their hairs out of their heads, I don’t want a ruckus here. I’m still beautiful compared to those bitches so fair enough.

Even it hurts.

I saw how Flicke was shocked as our gaze meet. Did he saw me sending death glares to them? Unconsciously, he glanced at his little friend and he panicked when he saw what the dimwit is doing right now. He nonchalantly pulls the shirt of Anthon which made the conversation, between him and the bitches stop.

Our gaze unexpectedly met and I also panicked as I put my arm on Maddie’s shoulder. Flicke really did ruin my moment. But thanks to him too since the dimwit stopped talking with those girls.

“Why don’t you confront him? It can be fixed through a conversation.”

“I’m woman Mie. We have prides that we must protect. I’m not trying to set my pride to be cool. And I know that he knows that I am pissed off right now. It’s up to him if he’ll stay dumb there. Break up is a trend nowadays anyway.” In fact I am not the suitor here! And I am the woman here!

“Ji, just think of it first. As far as I observe, Clay is freaking serious with you.” My face literally crunched as he mentioned ‘serious’. “Remember when he called you to wait for him before going here? I and Flicke knew that he did that for him to be with you. He wants to come here together with you.”

I stopped from walking and just statued at my place. Is that really the reason? That’s not what he said to me a while ago. He said that he made me wait there since that’s the place where I could change my clothes. “H-he said that to you?”

“Not literally. Flicke said to me that Clay isn’t the type of person who wanders around without purpose or if it’s not his hobby. So we are curios why he wanted to join us here. It’s because maybe you’re coming with us too.” I’m just listening to her yet I feel that I am already glued at my position.

That dimwit never opens something to me too, even his favorites. If I just knew that he doesn’t want to go here, then I won’t force him to come here. We both hate this anyway.

“Love here’s yours.” I watched the two acting like lovebirds again. “Jiana, your bubble tea is with Clay. I think you need to get it. We’ll be leaving now.”

“Now?!”

“Yes love something’s urgent.” He winked at Maddie, which I obviously know what that was, and the latter got it right away.

“Ji I’m sorry but we need to go already. Bye.” And there they left me gapping. They are really the shippers of our unofficial relationship. They are the one who invited us here yet they are also the one who left first.

“Love.” I froze at my position unable to look at him. I really don’t know how to face this man right now. I mean I misunderstood the whole situation that we’re in. “Here’s you bubble tea.” I turned at him, praying that it wouldn’t be awkward but its still, and I can see his eyes filled with nervousness.

I snatched the bubble tea in his hands and I don’t care whether I acted rude at him. I just can’t talk to him now. I don’t know if it is okay for me to speak because I’m sure that I will stammer with it.

“Hey wait up.” I quicken my steps as I heard him following behind me. “Come on, I’m sorry about that. I know you we’re jealous of her but…”

“Jealous? Jealous your face! Who the hell said that I am jealous?” I bet Flicke was the one who said that. Damn it!

“Flicke told me that…”

“Whatever he said to you I’m a hundred percent sure that that was a lie. Why would I be jealous with a woman that obviously lack of taking a bath for a goddamn month?” damn you Flicke. I am already lying here because of you!

“Yeah. I think so.” What the! He agreed with that? He even scratches his head like he was really thinking about it. “By the way love, is she really that nasty? I’m disgusted about that fact that she didn’t take a bath for a whole goddamn month.” He uttered with disgust.

And here I am trying to contain myself not to laugh because of this humourless human in my front. He really did believe that. First is that he got jealous with that goddamn Jollibee and now he believes that that woman doesn’t take a bath?

“Yeah, I know her. And I think it will be her second month already by tomorrow” I go with the flow and his expression is priceless. It’s funny that I can joke around with this man

“That’s gross. Fuck!” he shook his head in disbelief and unconsciously grabs my hand and drags me into his car. I didn’t complain anymore about that. Maddie already explained to me the real reason of his intentions and his humourless mind lifts my mood again.

“Hey, where are we going by the way?” I just realized that he really knows the way of our destination which is opposite to me. The only thing I knew is that this is not the way to our place. He still has somewhere to go? And he’s planning to drag me there!

"Can you call me with our call sign? It’s weird that I’m the only one who…”

“Hey hey hey for your information I didn’t agree with that call sign. And one thing, you’re the one who created that so you use it alone. Duh, what do you think of yourself, gold?” he stopped from walking and I was quite taken aback by that. He glanced at me and his expression is not that expression that I wanted to see from him. He’s not angry or something but this gives me chills.

“Then what call sign do you want?” Is it necessary? Or he’s proposing it because it’s a trend? It could just be our names for simplicity?

“I’m not interested and I don’t want to be interested with that.” There’s not forever so why bother with the call sign?

“Ok. Then we’ll stick to ‘love. After all, you never told me to refrain from calling you like that.” I look at him in disbelief thinking that he has a point with that. But that made me look interested with it.

“I’m not telling you to stop it not because I like it but because I don’t give a damn about that gimmicks.” He really has these ideas which are not really necessary between us. He acts like he’s the one being courted here. “And can we go back to my question? Where are we going?”

“Yeah about that, we’ll be going to an Ocean Park. Maddie told me that it’s near here so I wanna go there with you.” I was choked by the bubble tea that I am drinking as I heard him saying ‘together with me’.

He panicked immediately as he tries to help me? But why is that? It feels like I was being chased by someone because of this abnormal heartbeat. Am I being flattered with what he said? Or it’s just he’s the first guy that ever asked me to go out?

“Is it okay with you? If it’s not I’ll turn the car and…”

“I-It’s okay for me…I think so.” It’s too awkward when he dart his stares at me every time he talk or say something. “And thank you also…for bringing me with you.” I don’t want to look prideful right now. This is his treat so I should be grateful about it.

“That’s okay. I’m your boyfriend so I must make you happy at least once in a day.” I unconsciously turned at him and he’s already busy driving. Did he really say those words? Why is it that may heart beats like this?

But his voice is just usual. “Did I make you happy?” our gaze accidentally met as he looks at my side. That took a couple of seconds before we broke our stares to each other, feeling the awkwardness between us.

“Y-yeah. Kind of.” Yeah, you made me happy you abnormal guy.

(Lucy’s POV)

We’re already skating for an hour and my feet starts to numb already. Aedric was the opposite because he looks like energized like how he is before we start. He’s already circling the whole field for an hour yet he’s still smiling like its Christmas day. I was just holding to him because I don’t want to be an embarrassment to the crowd here.

“Something’s wrong? Are you okay?” I blinked my eyes twice as he spoke. He decelerated our skating and we’re not in our walking pace.

“Can we rest for a while?” I was hesitant asking that to him since he looked like he’s enjoying it all along.

“Sure boss. Let’s take some rest.” He guided me heading towards the area where the benches are when someone bumped at me making me fall on my feet.

“Ahh!”

“Shit! Boss, are you okay?” Why is he calling me boss?

“I’m okay.” He glanced at the guy that bumped at me and he was about to left like he did nothing.

“Asshole!” Some of the crowd are already looking at us. I just covered my face with embarrassment.

“Don’t you know how to apologize? You’ve bumped someone but you didn’t even say sorry.”

“Ha! You’re girlfriend is the one who bumped me dude. It’s not my fault if she’s weak?” I saw how Aedric’s face darkened with his fists clenched angrily.

“Ae, just ignore him. I’m okay now.” But Even I really wanted to peel the skin of that guy. Who’s weak is he trying to pertain?

“Whatever lovebirds, go flirt somewhere.” I just held Aedric’s hand because I don’t want a ruckus here. It’s obvious that this asshole is nothing with Aedric’s skills.

“Let’s just leave that.” I pulled him out from the field but his stares don’t leave that guy that bumped me. This is not that only thing that will happen if I’ll just let him rage there.

“Wait I forgot something in there.” He immediately went inside the field and I have no choice already because he didn’t even wait for my answer. I tried to catch up with him but he suddenly disappeared from the crowd.

I ended up waiting at the bench near the gate of the field but a sudden commotion attracted my ears. I look at the people and I covered my mouth in shock as I saw the guy that bumped me earlier holding his foot like he was bumped unto something. It’s not just a bump because it looks like his bone was broken.

“Boss, come on. We’ll play Tekken.” I glanced at Aedric and he’s on my back already. Even though he didn’t came out from the entrance? Or maybe he didn’t really go inside the field. I don’t know but the karma of that guy is really fast compared to my expectation.

After we played Tekken, we decided to eat at the food court of this mall. It’s already three in the afternoon and we already felt the calling of the food. “I’ll be ordering for us.” He might end up choosing the food that I might not like and force to eat it since it his treat. It’ll be better if I am the one that will be ordering.

“Okay.”

It took me a couple of minute before my turn to order comes. “Two fully loaded meal, four different drinks and two sundaes.” The women nods at me and started to list down all my orders.

“Maam, it seems like you couldn’t bring this all by yourself. Just get your sundaes first. This is your number and we’ll just deliver your orders there later.” I nod at her and grab my number card and the sundaes and went to our table.

I’m already halfway to our table when I felt that the sundaes in my hands are about to burst as I saw Aedric talking to a girl. It is etched on Aedric’s face that he’s not attracted and he doesn’t even give attention to the woman but the bitch is just persistent. Aedric’s mine!

I walk closer to them and I saw how Aedric change the direction of his gaze, avoiding mine. While the woman, being the bitch here, looked at me from head to toe like she’s scanning me. What the! And she has the guts to do that to me?

“Who are you? If you’re the waitress here, just put the orders there and you can leave now.” Aedric turn his gaze at me and he’s obviously have no idea about what this bitch is blabbering. He mouthed me ‘I don’t know what she’s blabbering’ and I know that already.

“Excuse me skinny frog. I’m not a waitress here and before you give me your bitchy side, look at the mirror to see the real waitress here.”

“What the hell did you…?”

“I’m sure you’re not deaf right. You’ve heard what I’ve said so could you please leave my boyfriend alone before I’ll make some scandal here inside the food court with you.” Her stares just revolve around us two and she’s still can’t believe that Aedric is my boyfriend.

“Hahaha! Boyfriend? Are you insane up to the clouds? Hey Dew tell me that she’s not your girlfriend.”

“And you’re trying to convince yourself by that? Poor you.” I hated the fact that she’s trying to fit herself to the whole that only fits for me. I place the sundaes at the tables and without hesitation; I grab his collar and placed a kiss on his lips.

It was just a normal kiss for me since Aedric didn’t even open his mouth, probably because of shock. “Are we settled?”

“Bitch.” She’s murmured with teary eyes. She then left us and some of the people are already looking at us but I don’t give a damn.

I went right to my seat in front of Aedric and fixed all our orders that were brought by the waiter not a moment ago.

“Did you just kiss me?” I glanced at him and he’s smiling like an idiot. So what if I kissed him?

“Gotta problem about that?” I asked nonchalantly and started eating. I don’t know if he wanted to eat or he’s not hungry but I’m completely worn out right now so I need food.

“Nothing…can we do it again? I didn’t respond a while ago.” I was choked with what I am eating as I heard him begging for another kiss. Is he really this direct?

“Boss, are you okay? Here drink this.” He immediately grabs the glass of water and handed it to me. I almost lost my breath when something stuck in my throat.

“You! Don’t you know that I am eating right now?” What’s gotten in to him? He and his pick up lines are already rampant and trendy.

“I know and I can see. I’m just asking and you can say either yes or no.”

“And you’re blaming me with what happened to me?”

“Is it my fault that you’re eating like hell there?” And he’s still taking back at me!?

“Okay, it’s my fault then. You’re too boring to talk with. You always use that…”

I wasn’t expecting his next move. I stopped from ranting about my concerns when he suddenly stood up and leaned into me to give me a kiss.

D-did he really k-kissed me?

“Just keep your mouth shut and start eating. You’re so talkative.” He gave me a sly smile and started eating like he did nothing. I was lost of words to answer him so I just shut up my mouth. I mean what I felt when I kissed him is way too different when he was the one who kissed me.

I went back to my food with a smile etched on my lips. I kissed him and he kissed me too

(Diana’s POV)

I look at my wrist watch and it’s already four in the afternoon. We’ve just finished watching the Avengers Infinity War and this moron keeps asking me why Scarlet Witch turns into sand. I didn’t expect that he will be a fan boy of Scarlet Witch.

“So how about that spider boy, is he going to live again?” he asked again while walking to the parking lot.

“Just watch its next part for you to understand why it happened. We’ll watch End Game next time to answer all your curiosities.” I sound like a movie reporter or something.

“I like the sound of it. Can we do it tomorrow?” And here he goes. He thinks that watching movie doesn’t cost too much money.

“Kin, don’t you know that we still have classes tomorrow?

“We could skip the class wife.” What the hell is he talking about? For that movie, he’ll be skipping his studies.

“Just try it and I won’t talk to you for the rest of my life.” His happy face was changed into messed up expression.

“Fine. But we’ll be watching that as soon as possible.” He opened his car and I rolled my eyes as I entered it.

“Are we heading home, wife?” I rolled my eyes again before answering.

“Do you still want us to visit somewhere, probably funeral if you want? Duh, of course. I’m already tired you know.” Isn’t it too obvious? Sometimes I’m really thinking if he’s really a human or not. He couldn’t even sense that I am tired already. Or maybe he’s really an experienced in heavy activities?

“I’m just asking.” He started the engine and drive normally. But one thing that my eyes caught is that something was written at the wall of the parking lot.

‘Eow earun noat por ech antara’

That’s what written and it’s like a smoke. I don’t know if it’s really legit or it’s just I’m tired. I didn’t bother more about it as I was called by sleepiness already.

(Someone’s POV)

I am just staring at the car of Kin Arthkeil leaving the parking lot. As much as I wanted to kidnap Diana from him, I don’t want to die right now here. Kin is stronger compared to me and I know that. It’s just I really wanted to break that two.

I tried to change myself for her yet he didn’t even notice any of it.

I know that she read all what I have written at the wall but I’m sure she doesn’t understand it.

“We need to go back. Lord Stygian is monitoring our actions so don’t do anything stupid.” I glance at my useless companion here. We’re observing that two lovebirds for almost an hour already. We even followed them inside the cinema but we still can’t find any clues about the five descendants.

“Maybe we can target the brides?”

“Repeat what you said and I will end your life right away.” Diana must live. The only target here is the descendants, not the brides.

“But that’s their obvious weakness.”

“When I said no, it means no. Lay your fucking fingers to the Diana and you’ll be a dead meat to me.” I teleport myself to where we are staying using my smoke ability and the asshole followed too.

No matter what happens I’ll save you Diana. I’ll never let you suffer with this fucking prophecy.
