Chapter 10

I woke up with sweat covering my face.

I felt weak

I felt defeated.

And most of all. I felt hurt.

Whatever happened in the dream wasn't true but it felt so real. I was scared. I was terrified. But there was nothing I could do. I felt so helpless. Just like how I feel when Eddie and Jackson speak to me.

It was the same way I felt when Alex spoke yesterday.

I couldn't take it.

Okay I had enough of thinking for now. I got to get ready for school. I don't know if I was ready to face him or not but I did not care anymore.

I wasn't interested in putting effort today. So I wore a brown hoddie and black leggings without any makeup. And I decided to walk to school today.

Fuck me now. Why did I decided to walk to school again. Because you were being a stubborn ass.

Walking is such an exercise. By the time I reached school I was tired. My feet were giving up and I felt like collapsing on the ground. Suck it up and walk you dumbass.

I had calculus today for the first class and I walked in . I looked around and there was no sign of Alex. I do not know why I was disappointed. Especially after yesterday. But I was.

So I tried to get him off my mind by concentrating on the class but that was of no use. My mind kept drifting to Alex. I was worried about him but then realised that he was used to missing classes and stopped bothering so much.

I did not know what to do anymore. With Alex and that nightmare it was seriously scary. I just did not want to face him today. Even though I felt like seeing him.

I had chemistry with Amelia next and I went to the class and sat beside Amelia. She couldn't tell me the details of her date as I was too busy being pissed at Alex and I realised I was being a bad friend and began to ask her the details.

"Well he took me to an amazing restaurant. He was such a gentleman. Ahh. I swear he is so damn awesome. He opened the door and paid for the entire thing. He is so sweet. I really really like him" she gushes.

I was completely happy for her. And I tried to not feel disappointed. But I couldn't help it. I was happy for her but after yesterday. I am so confused in my life. I swear I just wanna kill Alex for bringing all those memories back for me.

The class passed just like that with her talking about her date and I forced a smile on my face the entire time and she did not notice. So I was fine

I was still in a daze while I was walking towards my next class which happened to be English. I bumped into someone. Open your eyes and walk girl. What is going on with you. You will soon make a record of bumping into people.

I looked up to see a guy with a black eye. He was walking along with another guy who I recognised as Peter. And looked back into the guy I bumped into again and realised that he was the same guy. What was his name again. Ahh John. He was the guy that Alex beat up the other day.

I looked down and mumbled a small sorry and began to walk again. And he did not stop me. Thank god I did not piss him off.

As I entered the class. Austin felt something was off with me. Or maybe his best friend had told him what kind of a person I was.

"Sophie" he called out.

"Yeah" I asked annoyed. I wasn't exactly annoyed at him. But at his friend. But I couldn't help my tone.

" I am sorry" he said looking apologetic.

"Why" I asked back.

"For what he said. He shouldn't have said what he did" he said.

"Then why did he. Look I don't care anymore I am just going to move on from it so don't bother". I said.

"Look I know that whatever I say it won't matter right now but will you come to a party tonight" he asked hopefully. Along with a pout on his face.

"What a party". I have never been to a party before .

"I don't know". I said

"Hey it's just a party you can have fun let lose forget everything else and have some fun. I am sure Amelia is coming too. As it's in her boyfriend's house" he said a little bit bothered in the end but I did not put much thought into it.

"Boyfriend??" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Yeah that Parker guy she keeps talking about" he said fast.

"It's Peter".

"Yeah whatever. And you are coming??"

"Does not seem like I have a choice. So yeah I will." I accept.

After class we go to the cafeteria for lunch and Austin told me that he wouldn't be here today. And when I asked why he told me not to bother about it. As I spoke to him I realised that he had a cut right below his eye it was covered but slightly seen.

As soon as I noticed it and asked him he began to change the topic.

"AUSTIN PETER HILL You better explain that mark on your face" I asked with sterness in my voice.

He looked at me like a child caught stealing cookies and began to explain.

"Me and Alex fought"

"What. You are not supposed to fight. You are friends. And don't you dare say that it was because of me"

He looked down.

Omg. Omg. Omg.

It had been my first week here and I made best friends fight. Wow just wow. Sophie.

Looking at my expression he began to talk again.

"Hey don't worry about it much. I was just very angry at him as soon as he told that what happened between you two. Yes he was angry but he had no right to say those things and now you are my friend too Sophia. He is just being an ass. It happens sometimes. He just needs to cool off and then he will be fine. He is just shocked and overwhelmed that you are here again after everything." He said.

"I seriously don't know what happened. Why is he angry at me." I asked.

"Look as much as I would love to tell you. It's not my place to. So for now how about we forget about it and let's plan for our party. "

The rest of the day went away in a daze and I finally went home. Austin decided to pick Amelia and me up .

We went to Amelia's house to get ready as I told my parents I was going to a sleepover in her house and her parents were out so it was easy to do the convincing.

We got ready. Amelia wore a blue dress that she had showed us the other day. And I wore a simple black dress.

At 8 austin picked us up and we went to the house. We could hear the music from a block away. Okay maybe not a block but you know it was really loud.

As we entered the house there were people already drunk out of their minds. We tried to go though all the bodies and finally reached the kitchen. I knew better that to take a drink from someone.

Peter came and took away a blushing Amelia.

Soon fake breasts appeared and took Austin with her but not before he gave me all the rules of a party and the talk. He does not need to act like my dad. I huffed as I was alone . And I opened the fridge and took out a drink as I began to drink I heard.

"Hey beautiful".

I turned around and was shocked, a little terrified too.
