CHAPTER 10

Showtime,Reed was sitting in a high place,with the king next to him.

He had a devilish smile on his face,as the king,took a peep at him,wishing he could kill him.

A beast came in the middle of the arena,and welcomed everyone in style.

All the monsters cheered and roared,while the people clapped sluggishly, looking scared a little.

Then,the beast welcomed Lucy,saying,"Let's welcome the strongest ,tough...est,and...dangerous warrior in the kingdom.

She's capable of killing her fellow women,if they come in her way.Pls welcome!!,Lucy!!".

Immediately he said that,people became astonished, as they all stood to see Lucy,who was walking majestically to the middle of the arena. She was full of pride.

"That's my baby girl!!",Agnes shouted,pointing and waving at Lucy.

Lucy saw her mother and waved back too.

Lucy was feeling the victory already,since she has decided who she would fight with.

But to her greatest surprise, the beast called out the challenger,and she was shocked.

"The challenger.They call him the skull breaker.

Eleven foot tall,one of the dangerous prisoners ever dealt with.He's none other than TREMBLE!!!","TREMBLE?!".

Lucy's heart began to beat.She looked round,and saw a huge four arm monster,holding axes in each hand.Walking to the middle.

Everyone became shocked.

"Oh no!

Can Lucy fight this monster?".

"Can she actually defeat him?",those were the questions people were asking.

Agnes' eyes shot out in horror,on seeing the giant in front of Lucy,"No no no!",she panicked.

Lucy began to tremble in front of the monster,as the monster stared at her with and evil smile.

The prince,who was standing close to Esther,said,still looking shocked,"I knew that Reed was up to something bad.

He wants to make sure Lucy fails".

The king too was shocked.He turned to look at Reed,who was still smiling, as if it was funny."What's this?,do you want to kill her?",he yelled at him.Reed then said,still looking at the scared lady in front of the giant,"How your majesty?. She asked for a challenge, and I gave her one.Did I do anything wrong?",he asked,turning to look at the king.Then he laughed and said,folding his arms,"Enjoy the show".

The beast at the middle,moved away to where the warriors where.He pulled a lever,which opened the ground round Lucy and the monster.Making it look like and island surrounded by water.

Lucy took a peep at the opened ground and screamed,on seeing the mighty,long,sharp pointed spikes,meant for anyone that falls inside,death.

She swallowed her saliva,and looked at her friends, who were looking worried.

A horn was blown and the battle began.Quickly, the monster began to fling and swoosh his axes near Lucy,as she dodged and cried for help.Agnes was scared,as she cried for someone to help Lucy,but who was brave enough to face the monster.

Meanwhile, Deborah was done cleaning the monster's chamber.

She was passing by a window,when she heard cheering and screaming, "Oh!,so it has begun", she said,turning her face away from the window.

Suddenly she paused.Her face suddenly changed,as she turned back to look at the arena.

Deborah's eyes widened, as she saw the monster,trying to chop Lucy into pieces,while Lucy was running round in circle and dodging, screaming for help.

" I knew it!,Reed was planning something big all along.

God!,he wants to kill Lucy",she said,dropping the mop she was holding,and running quickly, to save Lucy.

Lucy was still crying,while the monster was chasing her,making Reed to laugh even more.

Deborah came down,and rushed into the arena.

The monster finally caught Lucy with his leg.

He stomped on her,allowing Agnes to scream with her hands on her head,"They want to kill her,they want to kill her!! ",she cried.

Lucy gasped in fear,as the monster raised one of his axe up to chop her head off.

Deborah noticed what the monster was planning on doing.

She turned to look for something to use.

She spotted one of the monsters holding a spear.

She grabbed it and began to run forward," Hey!!,that's mine ",the monster yelled,chasing her from behind.

Without hesitating, Deborah threw the spear like an arrow,and it aimed the monster on the hand that he raised the axe with.

"Graah!", the monster roared in pain to see who threw the spear.

Everyone became astonished on seeing this.

Reed,who was enjoying himself, became astonished.

" Who threw that spear?",he wondered.

Surprisingly, he saw Deborah running towards Lucy and the monster.

She jumped over the opened ground in speed,tumbled and grabbed Lucy's sword quickly.

Still surprised, Reed stared at Deborah,as she stood in front of the giant boldly.

Lucy hid at the back of Deborah, crying and begging for help.

Angry,the monster swooshed his axe at Deborah.

Deborah pushed Lucy away,and she quickly used her sword to block it.

She pushed the axes away with her sword,spinned and bent down,slicing the monster's leg.

The monster roared.

Annoyed,he began to fling his hands everywhere,so that it touches Deborah.

But Deborah proved the monster wrong,as she dodged and used her sword to prevent the axes from touching both she and Lucy.

The people were mesmerized by this.

Who knew she possessed such an ability.

Reed was still looking at her,as the king laughed,saying, "Are you enjoying the show now?".Reed didn't reply,but kept on looking at Deborah.

The monster was beginning to feel frustrated, since Deborah proved to be tough.

He became angry,held his axes tight,spinned round and flinged the axes in speed.

Deborah quickly grabbed Lucy,and they both bent down.

Seeing that the monster hand no weapon on him,she rushed towards the monster,who threw a punch at her.

Not knowing he was helping her.

She stepped on the hand of the monster,lifted herself up and SWOOSH!.She cut off the head of the monster.

Everyone gasped, as they stood up to watch as the monster's body,fell into the opened ground,and stabbed by the spikes.

Deborah began to breathe in and out heavily, as she looked at all the people watching her.

Unexpectedly, the people began to cheer and clap for her.

Even Reed's army began to cheer with their deep voices too.

Deborah wasn't expecting it at all.

But the way they cheered her,made her smile,as she raised her sword up,showing the sign of victory.

The prince was amazed,as he too clapped and cheered her.

Reed was still staring at Deborah.

She had really surprised him.

The opened ground was covered, as the beast, who did the intro came and lifted her up,saying," Behold your Mighty warrior!!".

Deborah laughed,as the beast carried her round,for everyone to see.

Through out the battle,only one person was angry,Old man Peter.

He squeezed his face,when he saw that Deborah survived.

He wanted her dead.

"There's no difference between her and her grandfather. Like grandfather like granddaughter ".

Agnes heard what he said,and became jealous of Deborah. She began to hate her even more.

" She has stolen my daughter's place as a champion.She'll pay dearly",she thought to herself.

The beast was still carrying Deborah, when he spotted Reed at the middle of the arena.

Deborah saw him,and came down from the beast.

She looked straight into his eyes as he too did the same.

Then he said out loudly,"Deborah, defeating just one monster doesn't mean you're tough".

Deborah knew where this was going.

Reed then said,"You need to fight five more monsters.

And if you win,I'll let you join my army,with any other girl.

But if you fail to defeat all of them,...then you die".

Fear gripped her at first,then she summoned courage and said boldly, "Fine with me".

Reed liked the way she spoke with courage.

He had a charming smile,as he turned to go back to where he was coming from.

Lucy,who saw the way Reed smiled at Deborah, became so jealous, that she wished she could kill Deborah right now and embrace Reed.

She was busy thinking of what to do to Deborah, when Esther came near her and coughed.

Lucy looked beside her and saw Esther,looking at her like a witch.

She frowned and turned her face away.

Esther gasped and said,acting like a good friend to Lucy," Oh no no no! Don't do that my friend. Jealousy will only make you ugly",she giggled.

Lucy became annoyed and said,pointing her finger at Esther,"You better watch it or else..".

"Or else what?

You'll pull my hair?",she said,shaking her head disappointedly.

She looked at Lucy from head to toe and said mockingly, "And she claimed she was a warrior indeed.

Warrior my foot.

If not for Deborah, by now your corpse would have been carried away to your mother's house.

You bragged about fighting, being tough. But there was no trace of bravery on seeing that monster.

Hmmm,it's easier said than done.

I'll advice you to go and hide your face in Shame,for a whole......year". Esther laughed and walked away.

Lucy was furious.

Tears had begun to well her eyes, as she cleaned it angrily.

She glanced at Deborah, who stood in the middle of the arena, waiting for the next challenger.

And she marched away vehemently.
