EPISODE 15:

“REPERCUSSION"

COLD OPEN

INT. WAR ROOM

BENJAMIN looks out from the WINDOW of the SYSTEM'S BUILDING, watching as SMOKE ranges from different spots throughout the world as UNrest and Anarchy still rages.

LINTON, DAVIEL, TERESA and a few other unnamed DEMONS and ANGELS sit at a large conference table, BENJAMIN the only one standing as they await for him to speak.

BENJAMIN

We are faced with an uncertain time. With an unprecedented hardship laying before us. The CODEX is still active, the longer it remains on, the longer it will take to get the SYSTEM back in control. For now, I have assembled this group to be the focal and stabilizing unit that is in control of the FRINGE. But we have opposition...the MISFITS are holding fast to their control of most of the systems, but we have the TRIO slowly siphoning away at that control, but until then, they have majority control of the FRINGE. We need to get CROWLEY to deactivate the CODEX, however, his request for immunity presents...complications. For now we have him detained...

INT. HOLDING CELL

CROWLEY sits in the cell, PSIONIC WALLS trapping him inside the space as he sits with a scowl on his face, his eyes staring forward as ANGELIC GUARDS stand two to each side of the FOUR sided CELL.

BENJAMIN

(O.S.)

I'm not going to lie, the situation is dire. Panic is still widespread, and the laws that were keeping the most sinister of fiends at bay...are now no longer there to be enforced, at least in our control. RECLAIMER units are out in force, doing what they can. But even then it may not be enough.

INT. WAR ROOM

BENJAMIN turns to the group as he comes over and takes his seat.

BENJAMIN

The FRINGE is chaos. The Repercussions of the SYSTEM being gone will be felt. Time is against us, the longer this goes on, the more stronger the MISFITS hold over the FRINGE grows. We cannot allow that.

LINTON

And what do you suggest we do about that?

BENJAMIN

We shut the CODEX down...and we get rid of the MISFITS...

INT. THE HANGOUT

CHARLES sits in the CHAIR in front of the CONTROL PANEL, CHARLES pressing a button as the 3D HOLOGRAPHIC SCREEN surrounds him, CHARLES looking through the DATA and PICTURES as he moves some out of the way and swipes the screens over and then together, bringing up a MAP as AUSTIN and NIKKI arrive from the ELEVATOR, the TWO coming over not saying anything as CHARLES looks exhausted.

AUSTIN

Still looking...?

CHARLES

Reports of MISFIT activity are everywhere. We've run into them too many times for us to not have any goddamn clue where their base of operations are.

NIKKI

Boss...You need to take a break.

CHARLES

I don't know if you've been seeing the same thing I have out there, NIKKI, but we don't have time to be taking a break.

NIKKI

Perhaps not. But burning yourself out like this isn't going to help us.

CHARLES shakes his head and swipes the SCREEN away, CHARLES spinning to face them as he looks annoyed.

CHARLES

What is going on?

AUSTIN

COLBY has a few jobs for us, they need all hands on deck.

CHARLES

You two are suspended.

AUSTIN

Since the SYSTEM is technically not in control, the suspensions are still pending. For now we can still do what we can.

CHARLES

Where's everyone else?

AUSTIN

EMMA and ANTHONY are picking up SHANE from the hospital, they'll be here shortly.

CHARLES

How is he?

AUSTIN

He's tough, knows how to heal himself well, takes to the treatments, that guy's a marvel.

CHARLES

...And DREW?

NIKKI

He's stable...gonna be in a bed for a bit, but should recover.

CHARLES

Good.

NIKKI

We'll take care of the missions, you just...get yourself in order.

CHARLES

Come again?

AUSTIN

You're being summoned by the new COUNCIL that's covering for the FRINGE.

CHARLES

Summoned?

AUSTIN

Yeah.

CHARLES

Well this should go well...Alright, you guys watch your asses out there, keep me updated at all times, and be safe.

AUSTIN nods as NIKKI gives CHARLES a half smile before heading back towards the ELEVATOR, CHARLES turning away as he seems lost in thought as he looks at the SCREENS and swipes them down, turning the console off as he stands and hurries off to get dressed.

INT. MISFITS STRONGHOLD

JARED checks a few monitors as he watches some activity before he sits back and rubs his head, JARED looking tired and haggard as he seems to have not slept for a few days. JARED turns as there is a RAPID KNOCK, and CASSIE enters, a WRIST MOUNTED SMALL COMPUTER on her LEFT ARM as she was holding a 3D HOLOGRAPHIC INTERFACE in hand.

JARED

Are those the operations reports I asked for?

CASSIE

Yes, added as many as I could.

JARED

Well?

CASSIE

See for yourself...they're gaining ground, JARED.

CASSIE hands JARED the INTERFACE as JARED fingers through the information as he sets it down.

CASSIE

We still have a strong hold over most of the operations, and the chaos all this has kicked up has been a major help because it's occupying all of the SYSTEM'S RECLAIMER units, but even then, this...TRIO that the SYSTEM has employed is very very skilled, we won't be able to keep the SYSTEM OPERATIONS under our full control for long.

JARED

It's not about keeping it in control, it's about keeping it from their control. Optimize everything that you can in keep the severs away from them, and keep the random influxes of time under our thumb.

CASSIE

Yes, sir. And what to do with CROWLEY?

JARED

I hear he is under watch within the SYSTEM BUILDING.

CASSIE

He has yet to turn the CODEX off.

JARED

The dumb fool is doing us a favor.

CASSIE

We have our orders to kill him...

JARED

I understand that.

CASSIE

Then...

JARED

My source within the SYSTEM is working on a plan.

CASSIE

Where was this source when they stormed the building days ago, forcing us to cut ties with BELPHEGOR...

JARED

Let it go, CASSIE. BELPHEGOR was a lost cause. We did the right thing.

CASSIE

I'm still not so sure.

JARED

Believe, CASSIE. We are all in this together because of what we believe, because of what we know. Do not waver now.

CASSIE

I do not waver from the cause...I waver on your leadership.

CASSIE stands strong as JARED stands, CASSIE looking at JARED with sure eyes as he comes over towards her, CASSIE suddenly looking a bit unsettled as JARED comes over and walks about her, looking over her as he stands behind her.

JARED

I will win back your...hesitance in my ability to lead. But be sure to keep this little...insubordination to yourself. I have killed many a GHOUL in my day...and the pleasures...and pain I could bring in your death would be beyond anything you could possibly imagine.

CASSIE

I am not scared of you...

JARED

Not yet.

CASSIE stiffens as JARED touches her shoulders, CASSIE UN-sure of what he would do next as JARED smirks as he notices her body clinch up, JARED walking around her as he heads back towards his seat.

JARED

Dismissed.

CASSIE turns and quickly leaves as JARED sits in his seat, looking over at the DATAPAD that was left as he knocks it across the room, JARED sneering as he balls his fist.

INT. SYSTEMS BUILDING

CHARLES enters as the SECURITY was very heavy, CHARLES taking three to four scans before he reaches the ELEVATOR, CHARLES standing in the back as FOUR GUARDS were posted in each corner in the building.

GUARD

FLOOR?

CHARLES

TOP.

GUARD

You need top level access to reach that floor.

CHARLES

Confirm with your higher ups then, I have nowhere else to be.

GUARD

Checking.

CHARLES waits a few moments as the GUARD has his com link active before he goes to the control panel and enters a code that moves the ELEVATOR.

GUARD

Access Granted, Top Floor selected.

CHARLES

No shit.

The GUARDS give CHARLES a look as CHARLES ignores them and steps out as the ELEVATOR reaches the FLOOR, CHARLES stepping into the LARGE WAR ROOM.

INT. WAR ROOM

CHARLES steps in as LINTON stands and shakes his head, CHARLES looking as about TWO DOZEN ANGELS and DEMONS stand from their seats, as MONITORS and COMPUTERS were set before them all as BENJAMIN was sitting at the HEAD of the LARGE TABLE, CHARLES sneering at this as TERESA and DAVIEL were sitting on either side of him.

LINTON

CHARLES, good to see you.

CHARLES

LINTON.

LINTON

I hear that DREW is healing up nicely, he should be back with us in a day or two, we could use his coordination right about now.

CHARLES

What would DREW be doing exactly?

LINTON

Handling the deployments of most of the FRINGE forces dealing with the social disorder, as well as helping maintain the RECLAIMER units stay vigilant.

CHARLES

Sounds like a full workload for a man who nearly died by a DEMONIC BLADE.

BENJAMIN

We don't have time, or the luxury to discuss the merits of whether or not one man deserves time off because he was doing his job and was injured, if he feels he can do it as he has told us already that he can, then we will see that it be done.

CHARLES

That's how you treat the man who saved your life! Who coordinated to save all your lives!

TERESA

CHARLES...please...

DAVIEL

We are eternally grateful for his excellent tactical expertise and planning in rescuing the SYSTEM workers, but we are short handed, and DREW is the best at what he does, and therefore we need him, even if his health is not at 100%, his mind and experience will be more useful in this instance then his physical ability.

BENJAMIN

There was no disrespect, I have great admiration for DREW, I understand that you have a high affinity for him, and you are defensive, but I need you to be clear headed and straight, Mr. REID.

CHARLES

What is this all about.

BENJAMIN

To business then.

TERESA

ALISTAR CROWLEY.

CHARLES

What about him?

TERESA

He's yet to turn off the CODEX.

CHARLES

As I understand, he wants something in return, grant it to him, and you have it.

TERESA

It's not that simple.

CHARLES

No, not when it comes to you lot.

BENJAMIN

Any immunity we would grant him would not stick, the second the CODEX comes on, it would deny such a request. Even he knows of this.

CHARLES

So what?

BENJAMIN

So...we believe there is more to this then he is willing to let on, and seeing how he will not talk to anyone here...and how he named you personally...

CHARLES

Did he now?

BENJAMIN

Right now, we need you to get him to turn off the CODEX, promise him whatever he wants, or find out what he's really wanting, what his play in all of this is.

CHARLES

BENJAMIN

I don't think you want to be taking such a defensive tone, But seeing how you are, maybe you can go ahead and enlighten everyone here by telling us how you know him in the first place, knowing that the DEMON is a wanted SYSTEM FUGITIVE and a...

DAVIEL

BENJAMIN, This does not matter. Not under the given circumstances. Right now the only person that can turn off the CODEX is CROWLEY, and the only person who has a chance to see that it happens is standing here before us.

BENJAMIN

Your point being?

DAVIEL

Perhaps, you should lay off.

BENJAMIN

You spend too much time with the UNDEAD, DAVIEL.

DAVIEL

My men under my command are mostly UNDEAD. As are everyone sitting here in this room. You should learn more from yours.

BENJAMIN

Mr. REID, it is no secret that genuine distaste for one another is high, therefore I'll spare you any more time of having to stay in the same room with me. However, I do implore you, at the behest of everyone in this room, get CROWLEY to give us the MASTER CODE to turn off the CODEX. And hurry, the longer this goes on, the longer this madness continues.

TERESA stands as she comes around the TABLE towards CHARLES.

TERESA

I will lead you to the holding area, besides, you need someone within this room who has access to the holding cell.

TERESA heads towards the ELEVATOR as CHARLES gives LINTON a look who nods at him, CHARLES and BENJAMIN locking eyes for a moment before CHARLES turns and heads into the ELEVATOR with TERESA.

INT. THE TAVERN

SHANE has a small but noticeable limp as ANTHONY is right behind him.

SHANE

I'm not a cripple, ANTHONY, I can walk.

ANTHONY

Dude you got our ass handed to you.

SHANE

Least I get involved in a fight.

ANTHONY

Hey, you should've seen me when I was with EMMA getting CROWLEY'S ass out of his death pad, Okay, I was a hero.

SHANE

Sure you were.

ANTHONY

I was!

SHANE

EMMA.

EMMA comes over as she hears SHANE call out towards her, NIKKI and AUSTIN getting up from their booth as COLBY comes over with TWO FOLDERS.

EMMA

You look good for a guy who got it taken to him.

SHANE

Does nobody have anything more encouraging to say? Like “Hey SHANE, thanks for kicking ass and saving the SYSTEM” or “Hey, SHANE, glad you're not dead”.

AUSTIN

Glad you're not dead from that ass whipping you took.

SHANE

I hate you.

COLBY

We are glad you are okay, but we are pressed for time. The UNEVENTFUL must be active, as all other units are.

NIKKI

What's going on?

COLBY

We all have quadrants we have to help get back under SYSTEM control, we are assigned along with about seventeen other RECLAIMER units to help take back QUADRANT D.

SHANE

Quadrants?

COLBY

Yes, I am guessing that CHARLES never explained that to you?

SHANE

Never was brought up.

EMMA

The FRINGE is divided into zones, or QUADRANTS, each one has a designated letter to each QUADRANT.

AUSTIN

There are six, A-F.

COLBY

The SYSTEM BUILDING is located in Quadrant B, The TAVERN here is Quadrant E, That diner CHARLES frequents is in C, and so on.

SHANE

And we have to help take back D?

ANTHONY

It's the outer rim of them FRINGE, where we met AZRAEL and such.

SHANE

The bordering area around the UNDERWORLD?

ANTHONY

That'd be it.

SHANE

Sounds rough.

AUSTIN

Quadrant D usually is.

COLBY

It's a high area for Black Market deals, Ambushes, and all around heinous activity. But anywhere bordering near the UNDERWORLD usually is.

SHANE

So what are we looking at?

COLBY

I need three for one, and two for another. One deals with a simple extraction of a high ranked official, high enough he requested a three man op unit to watch his back as he returns to the FRINGE, and the other, is to help secure a distress call placed by an ELDERLY REST HOME.

SHANE

A what?

AUSTIN

Old People live in the FRINGE too, SHANE.

SHANE

I get that, but they still need to live in rest homes and shit?

NIKKI

It's not like that, with them being so much older in spirit and age when they died, they find themselves wanting to live a little more in seclusion to the rest of society.

EMMA

So they usually reserve themselves a building, and only let older souls such as themselves in, but they take care of themselves and usually keep to themselves.

COLBY

Which makes their call all the more strange.

SHANE

Shouldn't we be sending more than just two, what if it's big?

AUSTIN

They're still old. The same things that bothered older folks when they were alive still do even in this world. It could be nothing.

COLBY

Or something, either way, TWO people should be able to handle it. Who are my takers?

AUSTIN

I'll take the babysitting op, could run into something, and if he's as “high level” as you say, my skills could be useful.

NIKKI

I'll check on the older souls.

AUSTIN

SHANE you should go with her, could do you some good to meet some of these geezers.

EMMA

Plus if it's nothing, it gives you some light duty to do to get you back up to full speed.

SHANE

COLBY

Alright, AUSTIN, EMMA, ANTHONY with me, I'll escort you there, NIKKI, here's your file. With us under Martial law these jobs are non payment, and as RECLAIMERS we are to see these jobs through no matter what.

AUSTIN

COLBY

Beats the suspension you'd be on.

AUSTIN

I have another job I would much more enjoy doing during that suspension then this.

EMMA

EMMA heads off as ANTHONY was reading through the files for his mission, NIKKI handing the file to SHANE as she follows them out.

NIKKI

Start reading, Limp Gimp McGee.

SHANE

Oh you got jokes now too, this is bullshit.

SHANE heads out behind her as NIKKI laughs.

INT. SYSTEMS BUILDING-HOLDING CELLS

TERESA and CHARLES step out of the ELEVATOR onto an unspecified floor within the SYSTEM BUILDING as the GUARDS acknowledge TERESA as she leads them down a long CORRIDOR that goes into a ROOM.

CHARLES

So they've got you on the HIGH COUNCIL.

TERESA

It's only a temporary position, until we get the SYSTEM itself back on and in control, then it's back to being the OVERSEER to you and your unit.

CHARLES

TERESA...about what happened the other day...

TERESA

There's nothing to talk about.

CHARLES

Look I just wanted to explain that...

TERESA

Heat of the battle...doing it to save us, to save lives, I get it...

CHARLES

Then why did I see that look in your eyes when you saw me...that look of...fear...confusion...

TERESA

Because when I looked into yours, I didn't know who you were...

CHARLES slows a bit as he was caught off guard as TERESA keeps walking and heads into the the ROOM, entering a code on the PANEL as the GUARDS surrounding the CELL stand to attention, CHARLES stepping in as TERESA doesn't go inside.

TERESA

Everyone out.

GUARD

But ma'am...

TERESA

We have eyes and ears inside the containment area, and this man is a skilled RECLAIMER. Besides we do not believe CROWLEY can escape, and should there be an attempt, the lot of you will be outside with me, right here.

The GUARDS hurry from their position and head out, forming into a line beside TERESA as CHARLES turns to her.

CHARLES

Any of that true? About the CAMERA and the sound?

TERESA

Maybe.

CHARLES

TERESA...He won't tell me anything useful if he knows there is.

TERESA

If I knew I would tell you. But I don't. Get what you can from him. And help us turn this CODEX off.

CHARLES

I'll see what I can do.

TERESA steps back and the DOOR closes automatically, CHARLES turning as he heads inside and see's CROWLEY sitting on the STOOL that was in the far corner of the CELL, CHARLES walking into the room as he grabs a CHAIR and pushes it over towards the FRONT where CROWLEY was facing, CROWLEY smirking as CHARLES sits, and crosses one of his legs onto the other, not saying anything as CROWLEY smirks and shakes his head.

CROWLEY

Not even an “hello”.

CHARLES

Cut the shit CROWLEY. We need that MASTER CODE.

CROWLEY

So to the point.

CHARLES

I'm the one who got you out of there alive, I sent for you, to do this one thing.

CROWLEY

It's because of you, and your intrusion into your past, into your future, and into everything all and in-between that I am forced into this predicament that I am in, so spare me the lecture of how you saved me, you doomed me, CHARLES. If not from your own doing, then by the SYSTEM when the SYSTEM comes back online, and if not by them, certainly by the opposition that stands in your way.

CHARLES

The MISFITS.

CROWLEY

Hit the nail on the head.

CHARLES

Why do they want you dead so bad?

CROWLEY

Because of what I know, or...rather, what they think I know.

CHARLES

CROWLEY

CHARLES

CHARLES

CROWLEY

You asked for immunity. But you know, as well as everyone else that's in charge at the moment that any real “Immunity” doesn't come from them, but from the SYSTEM, and that even if they lobbied and showed the SYSTEM that they approved it, they wouldn't accept it, and they'd...

CROWLEY

CHARLES

Exactly. Which begs the question on why you'd even ask for it in the first place?

CROWLEY

Making an impossible demand, sometimes helps with leverage of getting what you're actually after.

CHARLES

You truly want the SYSTEM back?

CHARLES

Oh but it very much is. They sent you in here as the voice of reason, as the talking head to get their wonderful SYSTEM up and running...

CHARLES

Only because you wouldn't speak to them, and that you requested me and me personally.

CROWLEY

Because I know you, you're not like them, you have a mind of your own, the SYSTEM doesn't mean the same to you what it does to them, they'll do anything to get it back on, but you, you won't, not without reason. And so I am asking you again, do you want the SYSTEM back on?

CHARLES

It doesn't matter if I do or don't, the fact remains that while it's off, the MISFITS have the upper hand, have control of the FRINGE, and that's no good for anybody, especially you, and me.

CROWLEY

True enough. But you'd at least listen to my request and perhaps champion that it be done, and you're a man of your word.

CHARLES

What do you want for the code, CROWLEY?

CROWLEY

I want to walk out of here. Back into anonymity and the shadows.

CHARLES

You had to have me here, to ask for that?

CROWLEY

There's one other thing. If that can't be...and if I'm forced to stay here, stuck under the SYSTEM'S THUMB, and bound to some unknown albeit cruel fate, I want you to do me a favor, one that I can only trust you with.

CHARLES

What?

CROWLEY

I want you to find my daughter.

CHARLES looks taken aback as CROWLEY doesn't flinch as he stares CHARLES down with his same cold look.

EXT. RETIREMENT HOME

NIKKI pulls up as the RETIREMENT HOME was in an isolated area, surrounded by a LONE ROAD, and a large dissolute and dry land. The HOME itself was only a single story tall but massively wide, covering a few miles on either ends.

SHANE looks on as he gets out, his PISTOLS strapped to his leg hostlers as NIKKI goes to the trunk and pulls one of her PISTOLS out but leaves the rest of her weapons in the trunk as she shuts it and begins towards the HOME.

SHANE

This place is massive, how many old people live?

NIKKI

I'm sure they prefer senior citizens.

SHANE

Whatever.

NIKKI

Most of the senior citizen populace run through here at some point and time, though I would say that 85% of them stay.

SHANE

That's a lot of old folks.

NIKKI

There's not as many as you would think.

NIKKI and SHANE stop as suddenly a small group of SENIOR CITIZENS come from out of their BUILDING, all of them holding GUNS of some variety as NIKKI and SHANE look at each other and slowly raise their hands as a TALLER BLACK MALE steps forward.

MASON GREENE looks the TWO over, a SHOTGUN MODIFIED GUN in hand as he wiggles the gun at them.

MASON

Identification?

NIKKI

We have it.

MASON

Toss it over.

NIKKI reaches into her pocket as SHANE does as well, the TWO slowly pulling it out before tossing it underhand onto the steps, TWO MEN taking the ID'S and checking them as MASON looks over the AUTOMATED information that was displaying on the HOLOGRAPHIC ID CARDS.

MASON

Weapons clear, everyone. These are the RECLAIMERS.

The SENIOR CITIZENS in unison lower, their guns as SHANE and NIKKI come up the steps and towards them, receiving their ID'S back as MASON hands his SHOTGUN to someone as the others turn and head in.

MASON

MASON GREENE.

NIKKI

NIKKI LYNN, my partner SHANE YATES.

MASON

They only sent two of you?

NIKKI

TWO was all that we could spare.

SHANE

I'm getting the feeling we should've found a way to spare more of us.

MASON

That you should have, the situation is dire, and it all comes to a head later tonight, come, we'll fill you in.

MASON turns and heads in as SHANE shakes his head.

SHANE

“Easy mission to pull some light duty to heal up” they said.

NIKKI

Shut up, SHANE.

SHANE

You know this is bullshit.

INT. RETIREMENT HOME

MASON leads them down the HALLS as SHANE notices that all the ELDERY RESIDENTS were armed and preparing for some kind of assault.

NIKKI

Mind filling us in on what the hell is going on around here.

SHANE

And why are you guys locked and loaded like you're expecting some kind of war?

MASON

Because that's exactly what's happening.

NIKKI

Explain.

MASON

Few days ago, things started to get out of control. A lot of our residents were in town, trying to restock on our supplies, most of them didn't return. The few that did were in real bad shape, kept alive to be sent back as a “message”.

SHANE

For?

MASON

We're being harvested.

NIKKI

For what?

SHANE

Harvested?

MASON

Souls. They're killing us, and extracting our souls.

SHANE

Why?

MASON

We don't know.

MASON leads them into an OFFICE, and shuts the DOOR, MASON sitting down as NIKKI and SHANE take a seat across from him.

MASON

When we got a few of our friends back they were accompanied by a group of DEMONS...DEMONS on...Motorcycles.

SHANE

A DEMONIC BIKER GANG?

MASON

Yes. They call themselves the FALLEN.

NIKKI

I've heard of them...heavy group, runs a lot of the Black Market and Arms trafficking from the UNDERWORLD into the FRINGE from this Quadrant.

MASON

They've tried to attack us a few times, but we've always been able to hold them back. Their leader, MOLOCH doesn't like to throw a lot of numbers into over throwing one piece of land.

SHANE

What's so special about this place?

MASON

Nothing, but look at it, it's secluded, well stocked and surrounded by nothing, an excellent place to expand your enterprise.

NIKKI

We've shot a few of them a few times in the eyes and sometimes the bullets don't even pierce. We've found that if you shoot them in the heart, and vital spots a few times prior to taking the eyes out they go down after that.

MASON stands as NIKKI and SHANE listen to the sound of ROARING ENGINES drawing nearer, MASON watching as a few MEN appear at his doorway, handing him his SHOTGUN as MASON hurries out and towards the FRONT, NIKKI and SHANE close behind as they come out onto the porch, watching as FIFTEEN BIKERS, sitting on DEMONIC CHROMED MOTORCYCLES begin encompassing the space in front of the RETIREMENT HOME, a few of the DEMONIC BIKERS yelling and screaming in pleasure as their GREEN EYES pierce through the setting artificial sun.

The BIKERS all come to a stand still as the leader, MOLOCH who was large and parks his BIKE in front of all of the others, stands and marches towards the front, SHANE reaching for his PISTOl but NIKKI stops him as MASON comes down the steps and stands before him, MOLOCH standing a good foot taller than him, as he was wearing all leather with strange DEMONIC SYMBOLS all over his vest as well as the FALLEN SYMBOL, a PAIR OF DEMONIC BAT WINGS TRENCHED IN BLOOD AND BURNING AWAY.

MOLOCH

MASON, it's time to give me what I want. I don't want to have to kill you, you've been such a fun opponent, but the upper hand is mine.

MASON

We have stood against you for all this time, things are not going to change now.

MOLOCH

You fool. You don't seem to understand the dire straits you've led your people into. I do not want to be known as the DEMON who wiped out the majority of UNDEAD senior citizens within the FRINGE, but if I have too, I will wear the moniker with pride if it ensures my business and my men flourish. MOLOCH looks over MASON'S shoulder to see NIKKI and SHANE standing amongst the SENIOR CITIZENS.

I see you have yourself a few RECLAIMER'S. Lotta good that'll do you.

It's the edge we need to finish this once and for all.

MOLOCH

Perhaps. What's your names, RECLAIMERS?

Get out while you can, ya RECLAIMER assholes, or suffer the same fate these old fucks have coming to them in a little over an hour. FALLEN, ride!

The DEMONS start their bikes up and head off as MASON stands his ground, MOLOCH the last to leave as he looks the place over and smirks to himself before driving off, SHANE grabbing NIKKI as he pulls her over to the side.

Maybe we need to call for back up.

NIKKI

We don't have anyone to spare, we can do this, SHANE.

What about CHARLES, we could use him.

NIKKI

I know you're a little banged up, and a little shooken up over what happened...

SHANE turns to see MASON standing near him.

But we have dealt with them before, and we're going to do it again, if you want to go, go. We called cuz we thought we needed the help, but we don't need your help if this is what it constitutes.

INT. SYSTEM'S BUILDING-HOLDING CELL

CHARLES looks at CROWLEY at bit surprised as he's not sure what to say.

CROWLEY

Your tongue stop working? Why the silent treatment all of a sudden, can't be that much of a shock that I had a family.

CHARLES

I'm just not sure what to make of it all is all.

CROWLEY

Well, I had a wife, two sons, and a daughter.

CHARLES

DEMONS believe in marriage and kids?

CROWLEY

Not for the same reasons as you and your lot believe in, but as a means of procreation and adding numbers to the cause, it was sort of...enforced, in HELL.

CHARLES

So what happened?

CROWLEY

Wife stayed behind, she was a high level DEMON such as myself, but more important to LUCIFER'S cause then I ever was, so he shipped me and my children here, The boys were good soldiers, but my daughter took up a lot after her mother, strong willed, violent, but much more anti authority then she was.

Boys wound up dead during the WAR, daughter stuck it out, actually helped bring an end to the damn thing.

Then I don't know. She disappeared. I thought maybe she went back to Hell, but nothing. I thought maybe she died, but the SYSTEM would have record, and the last time I checked, ooh, what, a week ago, still nothing.

INT. RETIREMENT HOME

SHANE watches as NIKKI was weapons checking all of the BLACK MARKET GUNS before handing them off to the ELDERLY RESIDENTS that had lined up in a single file line and were then being lead off to a position within the HOME as SHANE crosses his arms.

So what was that MOLOCH guy again?

He was a PURE DEMON.

A BURST OF BULLETS shatter the WALL, hitting SENIOR MAN in the HEAD as a stray hits SHANE in the arm, SHANE falling over as the SENIORS in the HALLWAY DROP, NIKKI watching as SHANE scoots towards the wall, away form the DEAD BODY as MASON puts the barrel of his SHOTGUN outside and fires, SHANE drawing his PISTOLS as suddenly from various areas GUNFIRE begins to ring out, slamming into the RETIREMENT HOME, shattering windows and peppering the BUILDING as NIKKI screams for everyone to get down, MASON hiding behind the WALL as he drops and checks on his man, shaking his head as he comes over to SHANE who nods for him to head to his spot as SHANE winces and leans against the wall, pushing himself up with his legs as he stays as flat against it as he can.

NIKKI

SHANE, are you hit!?

SHANE

Yeah, flesh wound, I'll be fine! Get to your spot, their flanking us.

SHANE fires wildly outside of the WINDOW watching a few FIGURES scatter from the SHOTS as MASON fires at one of the DEMONIC BIKERS that had come into sight, his SHOTGUN ROUND blowing the DEMONS HEAD off of the body as MASON whistles loudly and spins his finger in the area.

MASON

Light it up!

The SENIORS all rise from their prone and downed position, firing wildly outside, matching the GUN FIRE of the DEMONIC BIKERS as NIKKI watches for movement and fires towards it, hitting one a few times in the chest.

NIKKI

Aim for the chest! Weaken their bodies then go for the kills!

SHANE fires a few times, hitting one in the heart area six times, before he fires twice, hitting one in each eye, watching as the GREEN AND YELLOW LIGHT BURST OUT before the BODY DISPERSES into NOTHING.

SHANE

Fucking A.

SHANE ducks as a FEW of them opening fire towards his position, but they leave themselves open as MASON hits one a few times in the chest as a few SENIORS peppering the rest in the chest a few times.

The BACK and FORTH continues as a FEW SENIOR'S go down as a few wild rounds strike a few in their skulls, and one in the NECK, NIKKI watching as a OLDER WOMAN near her goes down from a powerful round that pierces through her skull, NIKKI watching as she falls over, her eyes opening and staring at her as NIKKI shakes her head and grimaces before she turns back and unloads towards a few.

MOLOCH watches from a hill not far from the RETIREMENT HOME as MOLOCH grimaces as he watches a few of his MEN go down, MOLOCH sneering as he clinches his fist.

MASON watches as a few DEMONIC BIKERS head towards the LEFT END of the RETIREMENT HOME, MASON taking his eye off of them as he shouts towards his LEFT SIDE to take them out but he is caught by a round to his RIGHT SHOULDER, MASON screaming as he drops down, his ARM BLEEDING HEAVILY as SHANE fires a few times and runs over towards MASON, SHANE yelling at a SENIOR to cover his window as the SENIOR CITIZEN does so, SHANE putting some pressure on the wound as MASON grabs SHANE by the collar.

MASON

I'm fine, go! They're going to try and come through the LEFT HALL!

MASON pushes SHANE off, SHANE looking as MASON winces and grabs his shoulder.

MASON

Go!

As he is saying this, the THREE DEMONIC BIKERS finish setting their CHARGES and run a few feet to their right as MOLOCH smirks and pulls out a DETONATOR, and presses a button.

SHANE runs down the HALL but as he does the HALL GOES UP IN FLAMES, SHANE watching as a few SENIOR CITIZENS are caught in the BLAST as SHANE is thrown a few feet as the entire LEFT HALL WALL disappears, NIKKI and the others are rocked and thrown off balance by the smoke, and the disorienting concussive force the blast had.

MOLOCH

Move in! Kill them all!

THE remaining SEVEN BIKERS storm inside from the HALL, firing point blank into incapacitated SENIOR CITIZENS, and ones that were already dead, SHANE coming too as he watches a few walk by him, executing downed SENIOR CITIZENS, as SHANE stands and shoulder tackles the LAST DEMONIC BIKER into the wall, SHANE hitting the DEMON a few times before he is thrown off and kicked across the room, SHANE hitting hard as the DEMON aims to fire but a SENIOR CITIZEN fires into the DEMON a few times, knocking it off balance as the DEMON aims and shoots the SENIOR in the head but as he did SHANE took aim and fires twice from one of his PISTOLS, shooting the eyes out as the DEMON SCREAMS and falls over DEAD.

The DEMONIC BIKERS continue their storm but are suddenly met with RESISTANCE from the remaining and Unphased SENIOR FORCES, the GROUP trading fire as NIKKI takes one out with carefully places shots before she watches a SENIOR CITIZEN do the same and take out another.

The FOUR DEMONIC BIKERS begin to fall back into the previous hallway but SHANE grabs a DEMON from behind and puts his PISTOL to the side of his LEFT EYE, firing as the BULLET tears through and destroys both eyes at the same time, SHANE dropping the DEAD BODY as he unloads his PISTOLS into the THREE DEMONS backs, the DEMONIC BIKERS screaming as NIKKI takes aim and fires into ones face, killing him as the SENIORS do the same.

The DEMONIC BIKERS fall over dead as SHANE breaths heavily, SHANE looking them all over as he notices MASON disappear outside a nearby door, SHANE quickly running towards the exit as NIKKI watches on as the SENIORS inside are celebrating.

EXT. RETIREMENT HOME

MASON holds his bleeding shoulder as he hobbles outside.

MASON

MOLOCH, show yourself!

SHANE appears as he watches MASON come into the middle of the STREET in the FRONT of the RETIREMENT HOME.

SHANE

MASON!

MASON rocks backwards as he is hit with a loud pop, MASON reeling as he is shot three more times.

SHANE

No!

MASON sneers as he stumbles and falls to his knees, MASON breathing heavily as he looks about and watches MOLOCH coming from the hill, MASON smirking as MOLOCH comes into view and places a LONG BARREL .44 MOD to his SKULL.

MOLOCH

I'll take this as a consolation prize for what you did to my men...

MOLOCH rocks as he is shot three times in the chest, MOLOCH sneering as SHANE runs and tackles MOLOCH down, MASON reeling as SHANE punches MOLOCH repeatedly a few times before MOLOCH rocks him with a strong right and throws him off of him, SHANE landing on the ground hard as MOLOCH quickly gets on his feet and kicks SHANE across the face, SHANE spitting out blood as MOLOCH grabs SHANE and pulls him to his feet, headbutting SHANE in the nose as SHANE reels as MOLOCH aims and fires, shooting SHANE in the chest as SHANE screams in pain and falls over.

MOLOCH

I ain't done with you, you done shot me one to many times, so I'm going to take my time with you.

SHANE reels as he writhes on the ground in pain as MOLOCH changes the modified magazine for his .44, MOLOCH coming over towards MASON as he looks at the SMOKE billowing from the fire where the RETIREMENT HOME had gone up in the explosion.

MOLOCH

You tried, MASON. I give you all the credit in the world.

MASON

You're men are dead.

MOLOCH

My men live on, you know the FALLEN are stronger then fourteen followers. You know who I work for...

MASON

Then why isn't “she” here...

MOLOCH

Because. You're not worth the trouble in her opinion.

MOLOCH aims at MASON'S HEAD, SHANE going for his PISTOL but stops as he hears the bullet tear through MASON'S FACE.

MOLOCH turns to SHANE as SHANE stares at him, MOLOCH putting his PISTOL away as he pulls a LARGE BLADE out from a holder on his left hip, SHANE scooting as quickly as he could but the pain in his chest is stopping him as MOLOCH smirks and teases SHANE as SHANE goes for his PISTOL but MOLOCH stomps on SHANE'S CHEST TWICE as SHANE'S FINGER TIPS touched the butt of his PISTOL, MOLOCH kicking SHANE'S PISTOL away as MOLOCH spins his BLADE.

MOLOCH

Which eye you want first? Left or Right?

NIKKI

You tell me?!

MOLOCH turns as NIKKI fires a point blank shot from her PISTOL into MOLOCH'S LEFT EYE, MOLOCH screaming as he backs away before he lunge slashes at NIKKI, NIKKI blocking and easily disarming MOLOCH by twisting the arm and elbowing MOLOCH with her free elbow before she spins her body around the arm and pulls it out and down, snapping it in two.

MOLOCH screams as SHANE spins and grabs his PISTOL, SHANE rolling onto his back as NIKKI hits MOLOCH away from her as she notices SHANE sit up and aim, MOLOCH not able to see SHANE from his non-existent LEFT EYE as SHANE whistles and watches as MOLOCH turns and SCREAMS, falling over as SHANE fired a a precise round into his RIGHT EYE, MOLOCH screaming as the GREEN and WHITE LIGHT fire out of the orifices before the BODY disperses as all the other ones did, NIKKI hurrying over to SHANE as SHANE tries to stand.

NIKKI

SHANE, SHANE are you okay...?

SHANE

Oh you know...routine easy missions...gotta get shot at least twice...

NIKKI

Just...stay there okay, just let your body...

SHANE touches his chest as he has the BULLET fall into his hand, NIKKI checking the wound to see it was slowly closing up.

SHANE limps over towards MASON'S BODY as SHANE looks about making sure everything was clear as NIKKI comes over and notices MASON, NIKKI looking away as she looks dejected at the sight as she notices the other SENIOR CITIZENS coming out finally as they begin towards MASON'S BODY. SHANE and NIKKI looking about.

INT. SYSTEM'S BUILDING- HOLDING CELL

CROWLEY watches as CHARLES was frantically still pacing about.

CROWLEY

You keep up at that pace you're going to burn a hole through the floor.

CHARLES

I still don't believe you about LYDIA, but I don't have a reason to doubt you at this point.

CROWLEY

No you do not.

CHARLES

Why would she be with the MISFITS?

CROWLEY

I wish I knew mate, anything I tried to dig up on them wound up with my information brokers turning up dead, and me in the doghouse. CROWLEY

Why do you want to find her so badly? What is this all about?

CROWLEY

In the corner to your left, there's a locker. Open it.

CHARLES looks over to see the LOCKER and cautiously he goes over and opens it, pulling out CROWLEY'S SUIT COAT.

CROWLEY

Left front pocket.

CHARLES reaches into the left front pocket and pulls out a hologram disc.

CHARLES

What is it?

CROWLEY

It's a recorded message, that'll play when it's in her hands.

CHARLES

What's it detail?

CROWLEY

Family secrets, and maybe one or two apologies and omissions.

CHARLES

This is what is so important?

CROWLEY

It's important to me that she get it, that she...understands certain things that happened that lead to us...being so strained.

CHARLES

She may not even be alive, CROWLEY...

CROWLEY

Then I'll find out soon enough.

CHARLES

If I ever find her, she'll get this. I promise.

CROWLEY

I trust you, CHARLES. I don't have much choice at this point.

CHARLES

No you don't, and I could say the same. But I will. So I need your part of the bargain...I need the MASTER CODE, CROWLEY...

CROWLEY

CHARLES tucks the HOLOGRAM DISC away and heads towards the DOOR, CROWLEY standing as CHARLES stops.

CHARLES

Thank you, CROWLEY.

CROWLEY

Tread lightly from here on, CHARLES. Trust only those you hold dear, and then be skeptical of everyone. I know that she was your wife, but LYDIA, is not who you remember her as...do not hesitate or falter if things should come to an impasse because she will not...darkness is falling over the FRINGE again, a darkness I have never seen, but one that scares even me. CHARLES

You're talking like a man whose about to not be around come tomorrow.

CROWLEY

You never know, CHARLES. Just heed my words. And trust me.

CHARLES

CHARLES heads out the door as CROWLEY sits back down on the bench, looking complacent as he sits and stares back at the wall in front of him.

INT. SYSTEM'S BUILDING.

CHARLES looks at TERESA as the GUARDS head back inside, TERESA looking away from CHARLES'S gaze as CHARLES nods.

CHARLES

You heard all that.

TERESA

Yes.

CHARLES

Of course.

TERESA

If LYDIA is working for the MISFITS, CHARLES...

CHARLES

We don't know that for sure.

TERESA

You look like you believe it.

CHARLES

I don't know what to believe.

TERESA

I notified the HIGH COUNCIL, they're sending the code to the TRIO right now.

CHARLES

Good, let me know how that goes.

TERESA

Where are you going?

CHARLES

I have a group I need to check on, remember?

TERESA goes to say something but she doesn't as she watches CHARLES thumb the HOLOGRAM DISC in his hands a few times before tucking it away in his pocket, CHARLES stepping into the ELEVATOR as TERESA looks unsure.

EXT. RETIREMENT HOME

NIKKI and SHANE stand side by side as the SENIOR CITIZENS were all gathered, hand in hand as their fallen were placed peacefully on pyres all across the lawn.

SHANE

What is going on?

NIKKI

Sshh, watch...

A SENIOR CITIZEN steps forward as SHANE watches the somber faces look up at him as the SENIOR smiles.

SENIOR

We have been blessed with the opportunity to say goodbye, and to send our fallen, and our friends to a better place...and unknown place...a place beyond the veil of what we know. Maybe heaven, maybe hell...maybe something even more fantastical and beyond. Or maybe nothing at all, maybe eternal peace is what awaits them. All we can do is hope that wherever they go, they go in peace, and they know that what they fought and died for...will stand. We will persevere, we will rebuild, we will stand strong. We will honor them but continuing to be a family, standing and caring for each other. And we will honor MASON more importantly, by reaching out, and accepting those who would offer their help. The SENIOR steps back and away as SHANE and NIKKI watch as the SOULS of the FALLEN SENIOR CITIZENS begin to rise from their bodies, their bodies disappearing as their SOUL ORBS continue and swirl into the air, mingling and colliding into one LIGHT BEAM that fires into the AIR, SHANE looking on in awe as NIKKI does as well, NIKKI grabbing SHANE'S HAND on instinct as SHANE looks at her and then at their hands, SHANE not saying anything as he smirks and looks up into the sky as the TWO watch the SOULS disappear into the night sky.

INT. MISFIT STRONGHOLD

JARED gets up from his chair as he comes over as LYDIA approaches him.

JARED

Are we on to phase 3?

LYDIA

I just got the word. The CODEX has been turned off...

INT. ADJACENT BUILDING

JERRY from the TRIO types in the MASTER CODE of ANDROMEDA and watches as the CODEX suddenly distorts and suddenly and quickly powers off, sending a concussive EMP that knocks out power in the entire area for a moment.

INT. MISFITS STRONGHOLD

JARED

So we have a a window to work with before the SYSTEM comes back on.

LYDIA

Exactly.

JARED

Execute PHASE 3, start with the loose end, and work our way up, I'll handle Phase 4 myself.

LYDIA

What about my ex husband, and his little band. They're starting to become more trouble then they are worth.

JARED

Rather cold against your ex hubby, aren't you?

LYDIA

It's in the past. I can do what has to be done.

JARED

What are you suggesting?

LYDIA

We get them off of our scent for a little while. Let them chase other ghosts, let them...hurt.

JARED

LYDIA

I have someone who owes us a favor. He should enjoy it.

JARED smirks as LYDIA smiles back, LYDIA heading out as JARED sits back down in his chair as he watches the monitors and begins to snicker to himself.

INT. SYSTEMS BUILDING-HOLDING CELL

CROWLEY watches as the GUARDS begin to file out as someone steps inside, CROWLEY smirking as he shakes his head as he watches the GUARDS head out and close the door behind them.

CROWLEY

So you're the MISFITS inside source, eh? I had a feeling it was you, but then again, I had to do some digging.

The FIGURE goes over and turns the CELL off, the CELL WALLS dispersing as CROWLEY looks about but doesn't move as the FIGURE walks up to him.

CROWLEY

If you think I'm going to fight back or scream, put up a struggle, you'd be wrong. I've made my peace, I've done my part, and Hell will welcome me back with open arms. HIGH LEVEL'S like me don't die, not really. So send me back, it may take me years to come back but don't worry, one day I will be, I doubt you will tho.

The FIGURE draws closer as CROWLEY smirks and closes his eyes with a grin on his face.

INT. THE TAVERN

EMMA finishes cleaning the bar as AJAX comes over and pats her on the shoulder as he grabs the last patron and helps him stand.

AJAX

How'd it go with your little babysitting mission today?

EMMA

It went about as well as it could, nothing happened, just a simple escort.

AJAX

Heard the other TWO got into a real mess.

EMMA

Yeah, it pissed AUSTIN off but they seem to be okay.

AJAX

That injured friend of yours is tough.

EMMA

Yeah he is.

AJAX

Alright, hun. I'm gonna get this one home, you gonna be okay locking up?

EMMA

Yes, AJAX, I've done it a thousand times.

AJAX

I know, I know. Gotta ask.

EMMA

I'll be fine, go.

AJAX takes the PATRON and pushes him towards the DOOR as EMMA finishes up and stocks the BOTTLES, putting the GLASSES in the sink to soap and clean overnight as she closes the shutters and arms the security system, EMMA grabbing her things as she exits the TAVERN.

EXT. THE TAVERN

She locks the TAVERN DOORS and heads towards her CAR that was parked in the front space of the TAVERN PARKING LOT. EMMA pulling her keys out as she unlocks her door only to be struck in the back of the head, EMMA reeling as she turns and blocks a few attacks but a few strikes hit her in her chest and then her head, EMMA watching as a HOODED FIGURE strikes her again, fourteen times in the face and neck, EMMA'S FACE BRUISING and SWELLING with each hit as the FIGURE slams her head against the DOOR of her CAR a few times before pinning her against it, EMMA unable to fight back as the HOODED FIGURE looks her up and down, rubbing and touching her breasts and body as EMMA spits blood into the HOOD, EMMA bracing as the HOODED FIGURE slams their fist into her face several more times, her body slowly sliding down the CAR as the FIGURE continues to hit and beat her as the SCREEN GOES TO BLACK.
