I Am Brittany Hydson

Until the first period ends, Sebastian didn’t budge to his seat. Not even once. He’s still sitting properly while stares are still in front.

It’s like his life is at stake that if he moves, his life will be taken in an instant. Sounds exaggerated but that’s what he exactly feels every time he’s beside Sophia.

“You have the guts to come and attend your class at this time huh?”

Sebastian flinched. Did Sophia just speak? Is she talking to him? She’s talking to him? She’s speaking?

“You’re late for a month or two. How brave of you…”

He gulped, still not moving an inch. Even their classmates can’t help but wonder about his situation. His actions are making them worried.

He looks like he ate something awful. It’s all over his face—the uneasiness.

He wants to leave. But how is he going to do that? Sophia is talking to him. If he leaves while she still has something more to say, he might receive a hard strike from her.

Sophia’s hands are heavy so he doesn’t want that to happen to him. Not again. Never again.

Sebastian’s eyes flicked up when he felt someone went past them. “Oh? Vanilla shake girl!”

Finally, he found a way to leave his seat. He waved his hand and walked to her. Sophia just followed him using her eyes with a scowl.

Cheska stopped and looked at him with her furrowed brows. “Who told you you can give me such a weird nickname?”

He instantly paused. There’s a surprise on his face. He’s not obviously expecting that kind of response.

So there really are more girls out there who are almost the same as Sophia.

Talk about creepiness.

“Why did you call me?”

“Oh, right.” he stood of properly, bringing back his composure. He raised his head. “The president told me to ask for your help for all the things I missed—”

“No.”

Cheska walked away and left Sebastian astounded. Sophia scoffed with a smirk and left her seat as well.

“H—huh?!”

He marched to Cheska. Did he hear it right? Her response is hard to accept, so hard to believe.

Did that girl just turn him down? When he’s asking for her help? How can she be so cruel as Cj—

Right, they’re siblings. How beautiful.

“Vanilla!”

She stopped again. “My name is Cheska—”

“How can you turn me down? The president asked for this!”

“And I said no.”

“Aren’t you scared?”

Her brows knitted. “What’s scary about that?”

“It’s the president!”

Her eyes narrowed into slits. “I’m sure the president won’t mind since he didn’t tell me nor ask me anything. That means the last decision is on me."

He found no words to counter that. That’s right. In fact, Cj didn’t tell him anything.

He doesn’t need to chase their lessons anyway. He’s only doing that so he can be close to Cheska in a blink.

Who would have thought that the plan he thought was effective isn’t effective at all?

“If you really want help. Ask some of our classmates—”

“But he said you’re the best on your class—”

“I said no.” the furrows deepened. “Sophia is second to me. Ask her instead. You know her anyway.”

“I am not going to ask that girl—wait, how did you know?”

“I overheard your conversation with her. To what she said, I can tell that’s not the first time you met,” she explained. “If you don’t like her, the best persons that can help you are our teachers. Ask them—”

“Why don’t you want to help me? You’re so cruel…” his shoulders dropped.

This is absolutely not the perfect first day he's expecting for himself. Cj and his sister perfectly ruined it.

“I have no problem in helping you,” she pointed out. “But you just came now and to what I have heard, you intentionally did this. You put yourself into this. Why are you asking for someone’s help now?”

“To what you have heard?” he asked with his slightly raised voice. He placed one hand to his waist and scoffed. “I can’t believe this. How can you believe in such ridiculous gossips—"

“Believe me, every gossip here about this guy is factual.”

Sebastian flinched when he heard Sophia’s voice from his back. She just appeared behind him. However, she didn’t last long with them since she’s only passing by.

Talk about creepiness. Again.

When Sebastian turned to Cheska again, she’s crossing her arms while looking at him as if she’s judging him and his lineage.

Lee siblings surely have no mercy. They do share the same blood. If only Xeign is there and she did exactly what her siblings did, he might be already depressed by now.

His eyes went to her side. He blinked repeatedly.

“Oh? I didn’t know you are with someone,” he said, still blinking repeatedly. “I didn’t feel her…”

Cheska’s eyes went to her side. He’s referring to Brittany. “She’s with me before I even left our classroom. She’s our classmate.”

Before she left? He didn’t really notice it.

Was it because he’s too nervous about Sophia’s presence? He didn’t notice Sophia’s approach too.

Perhaps it's because he is just too preoccupied and nervous that he has no sense of what is happening to his surrounding.

He just shrugged the thought and offered his hand. “I’m Sebastian. Sebastian Azarcon. You are…?”

Brittany accepted it hesitantly. “I am Brittany Hydson...”

When their hands met, Sebastian felt something.

His stares got deep and his brows furrowed. “Hm…”

Brittany withdrew her hand first. She put it behind her and looked away, embarrassed.

Who wouldn’t be? He just stared at her, not just at her but in her eyes.

Sebastian is still in his deep thought. He's certain he felt something weird. Was he just hallucinating it? Did he take it wrong?

Was he mistaken when he felt her pulse’s irregularities?

When he saw how her pupils dilated?

If he is not...

Then what did she lie about?
