Tomorrow, at Lee University, everyone is quite busy for some reason.
According to some students, a meeting will be held today at the gymnasium because it’s almost three months since the classes have started. Their busy and nervous because no one is allowed to be late.
Luckily, Cheska and Brittany are naturally one of the early birds though sometimes they go to school really late. Thank heavens that day is not today.
The first general meeting will be happening at the first period of their class. It’s a shame for the students who don’t attend their classes on time. From what they heard, the president only announced it this morning.
Perhaps those night owls can be enlightened by their friends?
“The president is so cruel…”
That’s what Cheska has been hearing since she came. It’s just that…they don’t understand the purpose of the late announcements of general meetings. The president always does it every year and no one knows why.
Does he like the other students being punished for not being able to attend the meeting on time?
She then remembered the five guys. There’s no way they don’t know about the meeting when Lorenzo was the vice president and they’re not transferees students.
They should know that a meeting might happen any day from now since it’s been how many months since the classes opened.
Why aren’t they still around? They don’t care? Not surprising.
As if this kind of threat could make them shake? They’re bold enough not to show themselves at school for a month.
This meeting surely means nothing to them.
For sure, they’re not interested because general meetings have only one objective: to enlighten the new students about the upcoming exam.
There are times that the student council officers introduce themselves. And there are also times that the president mentions the university’s rules and regulations.
It depends. It depends if he sees a reason to mention it again.
She can’t imagine how bored the old students might be for a couple of hours of sitting and listening to words they have already heard a lot of times.
When they went inside the gymnasium, hundreds of students welcome their eyes. They’re all murmuring about something random.
They showed no attention to it and looked for a seat that could fit their whole class. They found one not so far from the middle.
Cheska’s eyes went to the president. He’s telling something serious to Sophia and Sebastian. They only responded to it with a couple of nods.
She can tell that they’re indeed listening even with the way of how they respond. Their eyes never left Cj’s.
Then she looked away as soon as possible. She already decided to quit the rude habit hers.
The meeting has started as soon as it can. This is Cheska’s first time seeing all of the students in one place. Lee University surely is a big university since she can’t feel how many they all are until now—though she knows that more than ten thousand students are studying in that university.
Cheska only listened to Cj silently. She can tell how he’s used to speaking in front of thousands of students.
He never stutters. He always looks at the eyes of his listeners. He sometimes uses hand gestures to help himself by explaining.
He is so fluent in English. He has an accent. Perhaps if he’s not wearing the same clothes as hers, she might mistake him as a businessman.
She thought of that word since they are professional speakers. They face different people on different levels every single day. They don’t just talk to them—they persuade them.
If they don’t know how to do that, they shouldn’t be called a businessman.
Joshua is the same. She saw him one time talking to a businessman in a very formal and professional way.
She was astounded that time. He looks like a different man from her younger brother.
But even with that, she’s still not interested in business matters.
Out of nowhere, she heard the door being opened in a very harsh way. It interrupted Cj’s speech. It caught everyone’s attention.
There are a bunch of strangers standing at the entrance of the gymnasium.
What caught everyone’s eyes is the guy standing in the middle.
“Oh my god…is he…is he…”
Cj’s eyes narrowed into slits. He knows that guy. There’s no way he’s mistaken. His blonde hair made sure of his identity. Even if he’s not supposed to be there, he knows that’s him.
“Andrei…”
The guy he called Andrei looked at him arrogantly. He’s giving him these proud smirks as if he had done something really interesting and wonderful.
Rest assured, he still hasn’t done something like that. He only slammed the door—anyone can do that.
“Forgive my rude intrusion. Actually, the guards were so persistent. They won’t let us go inside since we are not a student here.” then he showed his gun. “Forgive me president if I have to use force. But you see, we need to enter this place. We have a business here.”
“You can do that once this meeting—”
“What? No! I am not going to wait for it that long? You are expecting me to obey your words huh? President?” he laughed crazily. His eyes went to the students who are looking at him in surprise. “I suggest everyone stand down and let us do our business here. This is a Mafia business. There’s no reason to get involved in this.”
Cj’s fist clenched. He can already see where this one coming from.
What is he going to do? He can’t think right. His mind is panicking.
“What can you say, president? Will you let us do our business here? Or…I have to use this to you as well? Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. I don’t want any conflict between our world and your world.”
Sebastian groaned in frustration and was about to step forward when Cj raised his arm, stopping him from taking more steps.
Looks like Sebastian already gets what Andrei’s presence and intrusion are all about. Just like him, he knows who exactly that guy is.
“I am waiting for your answer, president…”
Cj shut his eyes tightly. Why hasn’t he foreseen this situation?
He could have done something to avoid this one.
He found himself in a very tight situation without realizing it before it’s done.
He doesn’t want their covers to be blown.
Not now.
Not yet.
Will he be able to sacrifice his sister?
That’s Andrei right there, Alexandra’s older brother. There’s no way he’s doing this not because of her.
He loves his sister so much that he will do everything that she wants. He’s ready to spoil her with all of his might.
Right, he has never foreseen this situation because Alexandra has never done this.
“Fucking stupid…” he said to himself.
How could he face this kind of situation this early?
There’s no way. There’s no way he’s going to let them take his sister.
They might do something to her—something awful. They might not kill her but still…he doesn’t like the idea of his sister being at the hands of the Sakamoto siblings.
“Cj…” Andrei called playfully. “I’m sure you don’t want any blood to be spilled right now, right? I’m sure you don’t want yourself to be in a critical situation.”
He doesn’t care what might happen to him. He’s willing to put himself on the line. That’s his sister.
But does Andrei know that?
No.
He doesn’t even know that he is also a Mafia like him—not just a Mafia but a member of the Lee Family.
If he lets his cover be blown by now, his cousins will have to move as well. If that happens, everyone would know who they are.
It would be chaotic. The world will finally know the faces and identities of the most powerful family in the world.
That’s the last thing they should expect to happen. Especially at this time. Once they’re exposed, there's no way their enemies would stupidly stay still and do nothing.
They’re going to move. Right away. That’s just how their enemies are so desperate to annihilate his family.
They can win. They will win. Cj is certain of their victory no matter when the war will start.
But that is not the case now, is it?
They don’t want to resort to violence. They don’t want any of that. They shouldn’t be doing that.
