The Beginning

The light fades away and the city of Capa is in good condition. No fires, no earthquake cracks, no damages. It is a typical school day today at the Arctisian Academy. A 17-year-old boy named Fred, a grade 10 student, was having some deep thoughts. He is a transferee in this school.

He is thinking about something, or I can say he is remembering something, while the teacher is discussing in the classroom, Fred is having flashbacks from before, it was a real terror on his previous school, that is why he transferred in the Arctisian Academy.

From Fred's previous school, Fred was walking around the hallway and a lot of people were throwing papers at him and laughing for no reason, he is too weak to speak up so he never does. He runs away until he reaches his classroom.

"Are you alright, Fred?" A boy sat beside him.

"Ooh look at Fred and his boyfriend, we didn't know that he is gay." The other boy shouted from behind them. They followed it up with an, "ooooh"

"Just shut up!" The boy shouted back, he said to Fred "It’s alright buddy, perhaps it is not the place for you, and believe me, I wanna transfer too."

This made Fred think that he wants to get out of that school, but he does not want to leave his friend behind, or should I say, his best friend.

"I’m sorry ma'am about our students." The principal of Fred's previous school said

"Enough, my son had enough of this school and your student, no teacher came to help him or protect him." Fred's mother shouted at the principal.

"I know ma'am, we will punish each and every student who bullies." The principal assured Fred's Mother

"You better be, because we will never return here ever again!" Fred's Mother said

That is what Fred heard, knowing that he is switching schools. He is with his best friend, the same boy who sat beside Fred. They were crying.

"I'm gonna miss you, Fred!" Fred's best friend cried

"I'm gonna miss you too." Fred cried as well

They hugged each other and it broke by his mother saying, "Let's go Fred." as she approached Fred

"Listen, I'm sorry, I know he is your best friend, and I thank you for protecting him. You will meet him again soon, our doors are always open to you." Fred's mother told Fred's best friend, this made him stop crying and made a small smile but still with tears

A few days later at Fred’s house, Fred was about to go to his room to sleep until he heard her mother on her phone.

"Are you sure Justin?" Fred's Mother said

"Uh-huh"

"Well we can go there"

"You better hope Justin"

"Oh, I hope your prediction of the future is true."

"Alright, I will enroll him"

"But if a single tear breaks from Fred, I will hunt you down, with or without powers."

"Alright, goodnight." And Fred's Mother hung up and went to sleep.

This made Fred think about what is going on right now and why is his mother calling someone, but he did not think about it since he does not know about it, so he went to his room and went to sleep.

The next morning, Fred is at his home with his mother in the living room.

"Fred, I have good news," His mother said, she added "you are going to a new school. Near here as well."

"I don't know mom," Fred replies back.

"Don't worry Fred, I have a friend there that is a guidance counselor. He will protect you." His mom assured Fred.

"But what if it is the same?" Fred asked.

"I will handle it." His mother answered, and she asked, "So are you in or not? At least try just one day?"

"Alright, I'm in," Fred answered, accepting her offer.

“You can come to school tomorrow, so we have enough time to prepare.” Fred’s Mother said

“Ok then, I will prepare,” Fred said.

The next day, Fred is at his new school named the Arctisian Academy, he is with a guidance counselor named Justin. They are walking in the hallway like a tour.

"I know you will love it here Fred, I assure you that you will never experience the same thing ever again." The guidance counselor of Arctisian Academy told Fred, he added, "welcome to Arctisian Academy Fred."

"Thank you, Sir Justin, I'm heading off now, thank you," Fred told Justin.

And now he is in the middle of Math Class, until the bell rang, meaning that school is now over. All of Fred’s classmates are now packing up. A male teacher is erasing the board and about to pack up as well. He announced something to the class.

“Ok class, for tomorrow we will have a Quiz about Polynomial Function.” Fred’s Math teacher announced, and also added, “Fred, I know that you are still new here and I am not sure what topic are you in on your previous school so I won’t include you, but you are still gonna do the quiz, but do not worry I won’t record them, consider it as your diagnostic test.”

“Thank you, sir, but we are already at Circles,” Fred answered

“Again, just a diagnostic test. You may all be dismissed,” Fred’s Math teacher said to let them go.

The entire class went outside to go home now, but Fred is still in the locker room. He was unpacking his stuff and getting something to bring to his house, not until he saw 2 girls standing in front of a downed girl. As he saw this, he felt the pain she had, he had the confidence to confront them and stop, he does not want to let anyone feel the same thing that Fred feels. So he walked towards the two girls and confronted them.

Meanwhile, Justin is at his office, suddenly a box just glows red. Justin just approached the box and opened it and inside are some jewels, but a pocket watch is glowing red. Justin was surprised and closed it.

“Fred came here, bully reports, and the genociders pocket watch just glowed, what is going on now?” Justin thought to himself

Justin thinks that the pocket watch chose Fred but he did not know what he should do, he felt regret on something, or he is remembering something about entrusting someone with powers. So he took the pocket watch and went outside of his office. He is trying to find Fred and since it is home time he will know that Fred is in the locker room. As he went inside he saw Fred approaching the two girls with a downed girl.

Fred asked, "What are you two doing?"

The 1st girl answered, "Mind your own business newbie."

The 2nd one added "Yeah. Leave us or else."

Fred replied "I won't leave until you leave the girl alone."

Justin took out the pocket watch and it glowed red more, meaning that it chose Fred, so he put it in his pocket and left the Locker room.

“Alright, don’t say we did not warn you.” the first bully said

The first bully punched Fred but he dodged the attack without touching her or harming her, instead the bully stumbled forward until she fell to the ground. The second bully twirls to kick Fred in the face but he ducked down and moved backwards, instead the bully kicked Fred, she kicked the locker which made the loud bang. If those bullies do not stop, Fred will be forced to take them down without hesitation and does not care that it is illegal to hurt women.

“Are you both done?” Fred asked

“No!” The two bullies shouted in unison

The first bully tried to punch Fred again but this time, Fred caught the fist and grabbed the bully, made her turn around and pushed her towards the second bully that is charging at Fred right now. Once the two bullies we’re together, they fell down. Fred approached them with no anger but serious.

“Are you both done?” Fred asked while the bullies are getting up

“No!” The two bullies shouted in unison again

The second girl is charging at Fred with a punch but Fred caught it, turned the bully around and wrapped her head with his arms like he is ready to snap her neck. This made the first one really scared.

“Take one step closer and this woman will end its life. “ Fred said with his monstrous tone

The 1st girl has nothing to say but this "Ok fine,” She is facing the other girl and said “You got lucky because of your boyfriend."

Fred let the bully go and then the 2 girls left, laughing.

Fred approached and asked the girl "Are you ok?"

And the girl answered "I'm fine, I can't believe my friends left me to them so they can bully me, thank you, my name is Sarah, what's yours?"

Fred answers "My name is Fred, and I think we should get out of here now."
