Malory and Kyle must participate in the annual April Fest production as the leading co-stars. If they can cooperate by the end of the production, their long records of uncivilized behaviour towards each other will be forgotten. 
Malory and Kyle attempt to cooperate, grabbing the opportunity to make a positive impact on their own future. In the process, they become entangled in the chaos of the other’s personal life. Malory learns of Kyle’s disturbing reality, and Kyle learns of Malory’s scarring past. Can these two brilliant but messy teens learn to rely on each other in the face of their silent battles?

Olive: so I was at the cafe this morning getting coffee and I BUMPED INTO THIS REALLY HOT GUY

Me: wait, I thought your aunt was the one dropping you to school while your parents are away... 


Olive: You know how my aunt is. She offered to give me the ride but she didn’t sound as though she wanted to do it so I’m travelling instead 


Me: I’m eager to hear of this specimen of the male species so I await your arrival. I’m already here, naturally.

 I’m leaning against my locker. Kyle isn’t here yet, so I have a bit of time to store whatever sanity I have left in my brain into a titanium box and save it for when I listen to his explanation of the situation.
