“Sometimes this play makes me so depressed,” I say.
Ron laughs. “Why?”
“Because I mean... just think of the concept. Two people who are adventurous. One wants to be and one is forced to be. Both belong to rich families.
“Valerie will inherit a portion of her father’s wealth while Angus is the bastard son and won’t inherit anything. They both keep meeting and having these conflicts, and they both can’t figure out who each other is because they’re always masked when they cross paths.
“Then one day he finds out who she is and distances himself because he knows that she’ll think he was only after her wealth. So he stops visiting her at her balcony at midnight and writes her a few letters. She finds out who he is and thinks that he really was trying to go after her wealth. She writes him a letter to express her sorrow and disbelief and shock at this and then he writes one saying he’s fixing things before he just stops writing altogether.
