It honestly amazes me –the cover ups Kyle can come up with. When Grey and I got home, Grey grabbed the last of the snacks in the fridge and decided to become a hermit in his room. I didn’t have a problem with him for the rest of the night.

Kyle came over. He messaged me and I rushed down almost immediately in time to open the door for him.

By this time, my mom is up –lying on the couch, not taking her eyes off the TV screen, binging on ice cream.

“Hi, Mrs Lloyd,” Kyle says, smiling.

She looks up at him and smiles. “Hi, Kyle. Nice to see you. You’re here to practice? Or are you just here to hang out?”

“A little bit of both, I suppose,” he says. “We’ll try to get some work done but it’s already after six –we’ll probably just end up talking more than anything else.”

Mom laughs. “Are you going to use the living room? I can move if-”
