Malory and Kyle must participate in the annual April Fest production as the leading co-stars. If they can cooperate by the end of the production, their long records of uncivilized behaviour towards each other will be forgotten. 
Malory and Kyle attempt to cooperate, grabbing the opportunity to make a positive impact on their own future. In the process, they become entangled in the chaos of the other’s personal life. Malory learns of Kyle’s disturbing reality, and Kyle learns of Malory’s scarring past. Can these two brilliant but messy teens learn to rely on each other in the face of their silent battles?

 I’m the one pacing the floors now while he sits on the couch with his arms folded, a bored expression plastered over his face. 


 “So Ace, the Ace of Diamonds, the only Ace left, hoards blackmail on people and forces them to work for him. He throws them into this card game where each card from the first joker to the final ace represents a crime and they have to complete each one to reach a higher rank in the organization. Then, when they’re ready to become an Ace –where they would have the same amount of power as he has, he kills them or has them killed?” 


 “For as long as he’s been the Ace,” Kyle says, “no one else has ever reached the top.”
