Malory and Kyle must participate in the annual April Fest production as the leading co-stars. If they can cooperate by the end of the production, their long records of uncivilized behaviour towards each other will be forgotten. 
Malory and Kyle attempt to cooperate, grabbing the opportunity to make a positive impact on their own future. In the process, they become entangled in the chaos of the other’s personal life. Malory learns of Kyle’s disturbing reality, and Kyle learns of Malory’s scarring past. Can these two brilliant but messy teens learn to rely on each other in the face of their silent battles?

 I try to kick the year off on a good note. 


 I’m still a really, really good liar. 


 Truth is, I did formulate a proper plan. I just… couldn’t bring myself to tell Kyle. 


 There’s much more to my plan than simply getting Ace to admit that he’s behind everything. 


 As a matter of fact, I’d give just about anything for Ace to show up while I’m around… just one more time. One of the most interesting, fun, and effective ways for me to bring Ace down would be to analyse his brain –especially since I’d do a thorough job analysing him from my perspective. I leave no details out. I’d pick up on every little thing. Ace’s demeanour, his body language, the way he speaks and even his statements and responses… all of it can help me to solve this case.
