The traitor

While sitting in my office dealing with some serious matters, Albert's voice knocks me out of my business '' They're here, Logan and his sister are here.''

I looked up in his direction for a while then got myself back to work. '' What?!! Aren't you excited to meet her? 'The hybrid' Diana's daughter!!''

He wondered, and I answered him back '' She's just a human, why would I care to meet her. Also, the dinner held by the queen herself in her honor, it's no more than a waste of time in our current situation''.

'' We're talking about the daughter of one of the strongest fighters in the entire world. Besides many people believe that her powers will rise sooner or later, she's the daughter of the strongest two creatures in our world, she can't be just a human after all.''

He stopped for a while then added ''Besides, she's your best friend's sis...''

I cut him off " Cut the nonsense ...." Before I could finish my sentence, Logan's presence interrupted me.

I stand there with a smile running through my face, not being able to see my childhood buddy, and my brother in the fight not to mention my future delta for about a week is not a simple thing, especially in my situation.

As the future Alpha king, I can't trust anyone but my two and only buddies and brothers 'Albert' and 'Logan'.

The moment he got his sorry ass in my office I punched him, and before he realized what was happening he was already laying on the ground.

" This was for taking a whole week, not like you were traveling to the other side of the planet." I explained to him.

"Go find a mate for yourself instead of wasting your time on me" He fired back at me . Both Albert and Logan busted into laughter.

"Rich coming from you, ... from both of you." I snapped at both of them. We chit-chatted for a while before we got into the work mood.

" Did you find anything related to the last attacks?!" I asked Albert since he was the one investigating the whole matter.

"All the werewolves who were involved in the attacks were found dead, besides all the attacks were placed in the nearby packs to the palace." explained Albert.

" What do you mean by dead?" I wondered as I felt that something's not right was up and his reply did only make things worse.

" Though they were all rogues, they were working as a group. The attacks did attempt at the same time, that's not the only unusual thing since they all kill themselves by the end of their attacks".

Silence ran through the entire room for a while before Logan's uttering with his first notice since we began discussing the matter: "It seems pretty much like vampires work, for sure vampires compelled those werewolves?".

He kinda has a point, which led me to question them '' It's pretty much obvious. The question is how could vampires get into werewolves lands, especially those near the palace.''

I stopped for a while before I added '' Aren't we the ones responsible for the patrols for packs around the palace.''

"The patrol schedule changes every single day for every single time, no way that someone could get in or out without the guards noticing, unless...' Logan was explaining before that Albert cut him off to finish what Logan was saying ''Unless there's a traitor in the palace''.

I shook my head while my hand was passing through my hair, this was exactly what I was avoiding. I hate to believe that one of my people was a traitor but I can't deny it anymore.

'' It has to be someone from the palace who's involved with vampires and who's spreading such important information.'' Logan said.

At this exact moment, I was breathing hard and fighting my Lycan over control, anger ran through my veins and I felt like killing someone.

'' You both are my eyes and my ears in here, I want you all to find out who this piece of shit is, my Lycan wouldn't calm before killing the traitor, and it has to be done before the coronation. Now you both are free to leave''.

After they both left, I started to get myself ready for the dinner held by the queen in that human honor.

She's not an important guest to me but an important guest will be there soon. She's none other than Selena Rowan, the only daughter of Sir Rowan.

We're not mates, but because I couldn't find my mate yet, and I doubt if I even had one, she's the perfect choice to be my queen.

She has the reputation, the family name, and political power, not to mention that she's kind of pretty.

After I finished, I went to the hall to meet both of Selena and Albert arguing about something over there.

As soon as they both noticed my presence they changed the subject they were discussing together.

Albert did never like Selena, and he always seemed to hate the fact that she's going to be my queen,

I could less care about what he thinks since he can't do anything against my will.

He's the old type of Lycans that seemed to not get over the fact of mating with someone who's not your real mate. He keeps talking no sense about whether I should be waiting for my real mate, and that Selena could be someone else mate and blah blah ...

Yet, he can't seem to notice that it's all about power and both of love and mate bond can't give me that for the moment, only Selena can.

Everyone was already in the hall including the King and the Queen, the only missing ones were Logan and his sister.

Selena was sitting next to me, and she was all excited about meeting Diana's daughter.

As she was talking a wonderful smell filled the space. For a while, it cut all sorts of connections with my actual world, along with the smell came the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, my mate, the human girl is my mate.
