Chapter 5

Jane

(Flashback) (earlier that morning)

" l won't be taking Elena to school today. I have an emergency meeting, " Ferracco spoke up.

He leaned down to kiss Elena's cheek and disappeared upstairs to grab his suitcase. After breakfast , l told Elena to wait in the car for me. I was driving her to school that day.

I opened the cupboard doors searching for a bottle drink. I noticed some seafood spices there. I wondered why Mrs Morelo was keeping these spices when she was clearly aware that Elena and Ferracco were allergic to them. I made note to warn her later.

On my way out of the house , l saw Bertha carrying a lunch box.

"I have already made Elena a lunch box," l stopped her.

"It's Mr Ferracco's . He said to pack him one as he will be too busy today to step out for lunch," she explained and continued to walk away.

An idea popped up in my head.

"Wait!"

Bertha stopped and stared back at me.

"I will take the lunch box to him."
