Chapter Twenty Six

"Welcome to our first date!" He says cheerfully.

First date?

I thought it was a friendly thing.

"I thought we were friends." I say, as he starts driving.

"We are. We are BFFs remember." He says sending a wink my way.

"This is not a date." I conclude, or try to conclude, but this conversation doesn't seem to end right here.

"Well, all men are supposed to bring a date, and I'm bringing you. So it's a date."

"No, it's not." And then realization hits me. My eyes widen and my jaw drops.

"OH MY GOD!"

"What?" He asks, his eyes widening and he pulls onto the side of the road.

"What happened? Are you okay?" He asks, placing a hand on my thigh.

"No!" I scream.

"Oh my god! I should have known! I knew I shouldn't have agreed to come with you! This is a mess! Ugh! Erin, why are you so stupid?! Why am I so stupid? I can't believe-"
